  • Prysmian Group produces innovative P-Laser underground cables for the German high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line SuedOstLink at its plant in Gron, France. The video shows how drums with 1,750 meters of underground cable weighing 83 tons each are loaded onto barges in the port of Gron. From there they are transported by waterways via France and the Netherlands to Regensburg, Germany. In the port of Regensburg, the cable drums are then finally unloaded and remain there in an intermediate storage area until construction of the SuedOstLink begins. In total, Prysmian delivers around 550 km of underground cable for a section of the SuedOstLink that is approximately 270 km long.
