I did this to upgrade my Tosiba Satellite Pro from 3Gb to 8Gb, the problem is that the laptop only recognises 3Gb of the 8GB RAM as 'usable'. Anyone know how to make the additional RAM useable?
You probably have to upgrade the processor as well. It’s possible the max for that processor is only 3GB.
@@HowToVideoChannel Thanks for the reply. I found out that I have to upgrade from Windows 10 32bit to 64bit, and I can do this because I have an x64 cpu. It appears that 32bit windows 10 can only read less than 3GB of RAM maximum.

DDR2 but if you can use DDR3 it is a better component.

Went for 4 to 8 gb. Now windows wont boot?? Bios works & can see the ram but stalls on a black screen. Not sure what the deal is. Anyone else?

Unfortunately, trial and error is often the best method.

Yes, they have a variety of sizes. However, I'm not sure what the maximum amount of RAM is that the computer can handle.
