I'm pleased you are reviewing a ballpoint. I have a Tactile Turn Bolt Action and Leuchturm Drehgrifel ballpoint. They really are superb.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to review this product. Tactile Turn (out of Texas) has a similar product that I like for the reasons you mention about the clip placement with respect to the bolt. Tactile Turn also provides a list of replacement refill brands and specific models that will work in their pen. It might be interesting to do a comparison. With the placement of the clip, relative to the bolt, would the Bastion be more suited for a left handed person? Thanks again.

I am left handed, and own several Bastion pens. The position of the bolt is basically the same when the pen is extended, no matter which hand it is held in. It is only when retracted that there is a difference for left or right handed. That said, neither the clip or the bolt get in my way because I just naturally hold the pen with the clip at a slight angle. Your mileage may vary. (All of my pens are the non-slim version.)

Definitely a deal breaker since it doesn't write in reverse!..LOL 🤣😄..(JK) As always, a great review! Thank you for reviewing this pen. It's interesting. 😊
I appreciate you reviewing some of the ballpoints out there.

    Hi Stephen
I've ordered a slim for my wife some time ago. They've sent you one, I had to order one. I had to wait months for it to arrive.
The clip is stiff indeed. It broke off of her pen, so I ordered a replacement and two pens for myself. A month later the order still hasn't been shipped...
So: great pen, but you have to be patient.

The bolt position is a fatal flaw shared, I believe, by Tactile Turn. Karas Kustom is the only manufacturer of which I'm aware that puts the bolt where it belongs, on the side.

With the way I hold the pen, the position of the bolt is not a problem. The other model is a side click that uses button release (this can be ordered with the button on either side). Karas Kustom pens work well, too.
