Very helpful! You explained everything very well and slow so I could totally understand!
I enjoyed your video.. you explained everything nice and slow so I could catch it all. I did have one problem when you started separating alphabet letters and making new arrangements. You used CONTROL AND A LETTER and another command. As a fairly new user I do not know the shortcuts or keyboard commands so I was lost from that point forward. For beginners, I would have understood better if you had used commands such as CUT, GROUP, UNGROUP, etc. I know I sound stupid, but just saying as a beginner I could have paused the video and figured out what those commands were, but instead it was a point of confusion for me as a fairly new beginner. I mean my reply only as a recommendation. Thank you for sharing..
Ok, thank you so much for your feedback - it's so helpful to know what I can improve and where people get stuck (sometimes because of my instructions)!
When I add a png I get nothing blue, no lock button either. I’d like to make it larger, on each corner there is a clear block, hope you can help!
How do you resize a dog tag for example,if you don' t know what size it is? Because all my engravings so far have come out with the letters coming off the tag or the canvas design area too big so it's just engraving the mat instead of the tag. Beginner here.
When you put the dog tag in Design Space, you can see a grid, and rulers at the top. If you select it, you can also see the size at the top. Make sure before engraving that you Attach (bottom right).
I did but I ended up engraving the mat instead of the tag. Is there anyway to accurately measure the tags? Don't some come with their own svgs? I used some I got off of Amazon.
Here are my steps for doing something like this: Use a ruler to measure actual dog tag. Let's say it's 2" x 1.1". In Design Space, make a rectangle that is 2" x 1.1". Then make your design inside that rectangle. Position your design, including the rectangle, at 0,0 in Design Space (using the Design Space rulers). Position actual dog tag at 0,0 on the mat. Then delete the rectangle. Engrave. That's it!
Hey! I recently been using Cricut Design Space and I was doing a image 7x11.5 but it wouldn’t show on the mat.. it wouldn’t pop up to cut it out. Any way to help? Or know how to fix this?
Try rotating the design or making it a bit smaller. I've run into this before myself!!
@@SVGCF okay thank you. Before it was working and would show up on the mat. But now it only lets me do the image like 4x7 it’s weird
hi :) i'm a beginner. i have my file & i want to make it but it's telling me i have to downsize to under 9 inches. i want my design to be 11.5 inches. do you have any advice for me? Thank you
Hi there! Here's a video that shows the process you're looking for. :) ua-cam.com/video/nF8KUeQ2pEw/v-deo.html
I can not get my sizes to change, when i unlock the padlock it still keeps the width and height the same. How would i fix this?
You'll need to unlock first, then click and drag the lower right button on the image frame. If that's not working, I think I would restart CDS - that's not normal behavior.
Thank you so much! I did not realize, until I pressed my shirt, I had missed a letter that was still stuck to the vinyl. You saved my project!!
Awesome! I'm so glad you got it figured out!!
