Creed, and Alter Bridge are the best bands that ever lived. Miss the early 2000’s. Some days I wish I was born in the early 80’s and be a teenager in the 90’s and hear the beginnings of all the Alternative Rock bands
What education did you receive for the science behind everything? All I could guess is music theory. You’re very detailed, I’m a fan of your knowledge. Thanks.
You need to watch Alter Bridge Live at Wembley version with Watch Over You and Wonderful Life. Myles gets caught up in the moment and choked up at the end. One of the most beautiful moments in Rock history IMO.

Yes, Ignacio’s comment is spot on. “Words Darker Than Their Wings” is a beautiful song and Miles hits a crazy note at the end. The Royal Albert Hall live version is a MUST see. The orchestra in the background adds so much to the beauty of this song!
Yeah, before he started music (Jazz fusion band, then to Mayfield Four before current stuff) he was a big celeb in the inner circle for guitarists because he was a guitar teacher who could basically teach any genre.
In my (small🙂) opinion there is no other singer on this beautiful planet who is so underated like Myles Kennedy. Such range, such power, such diversefication, such empathy, such combination of musician and singer. Love every performance of him!🤘
Fun Fact: Myles Kennedy is not only a singer/songwriter but also an extremely skilled guitarist and former guitar instructor. He has actually given guitar lessons to both Mark Tremonti & Slash. He´s an expert in blues/ jazz-fusion and flamenco guitar. There´s a video of him jamming with Paul Reed Smith (the founder of PRS Guitars) where he´s playing some really cool jazz stuff & an older video from the 90´s where he´s ripping some Nuno Bettencourt style solos, like it´s a piece of cake.
What's crazy is that I would consider this one of his off nights vocally. He sounds like he could even be sick and nasally here. Search "Myles Kennedy Billboard acoustic" here on UA-cam and listen to that performance of this song for example. His voice sounds much brighter and cleaner all around.
I got to see Myles do a solo acoustic set in a very small venue a few years ago and this was absolutely my favorite of the set. Such a sweet guy too... a couple brought their 5 year old daughter to the show and he brought her on stage and sang to her. Almost brought me to tears. Not just a super talent but also a wonderful human being. I saw Alter Bridge on their debut tour and I've got tickets for their new tour. BTW - Myles was in Rock Star movie towards the end when Wahlburg's character pulled a young rocker on stage from the crowd and then walked off stage and left the band. Young rocker was Myles.
@@rigouribe4242 I've toured with Myles and the AB boys and Myles is genuinely a good person. Extremely humble and down to earth. Not some pretentious ego driven artist who acts like they're better than everyone. My real judge of someone and their character isn't necessarily how they treat me. Sure it matters, but I observe how they treat their techs, Venue staff at shows, or even someone like a clerk at a truck stop on the road. Myles is the kind of guy who talks to the truck stop cashier the way he talks to Dave Grohl. I just used Dave as an example as he's a well known person who I've been around with Myles. Just a good guy. Even a little shy at times. Not at all braggadocious, but still confident and secure. Very thoughtful and creative. Driven by emotion more than anything else, like ego or money. I'd say that's a good rough description of what he's like.
Check out "In loving memory" from alter bridge also. just the lyrics and the reason to them is already deep emotional, but with Myles performance it goes right through the heart 😅
The Voice, the Sound, the Heart, the Soul..the lyrics..All in One...Mr. Myles Kennedy and the Alter Bridge!! WOW!! YES!! I've already got goosebumps...That'll be UNFORGETABLE AWESOME AND PERFECT.

You should look at his performance singing “hallelujah” with Jeff Buckley’s guitar! You can really both hear and feel how moved he is. Perfect example of how the singers feelings color the sound. Love how you go into detail in reviewing different parts of his performance, including going back over again. Helps us appreciate how good he is. Love it, thank you.
First time I heard Myles Kennedy was on Slash's live - Made in Stoke BD. What an awesome performance, sliding in and out of so many styles during the performance, and making songs written and sung by other musicians his own. On that live DVD/BD is a short interview where he is being asked how he keeps his voice in shape: "no alcohol, no drugs". And there's the image of rock stars being all druglords.
Side note: The scene in "Rock Star" where Mark Wahlberg quits and hands over being the frontman to a guy he pulls out of the audience, that guy was Myles Kennedy.
Myles is nothing short of amazing. Tbh if it wasnt for Myles i dont know if i would be looking at pursuing singing along with Playing Guitar. This song i believe is about a friendship he had that no longer exsist due to drug problems. Oh and I believe personally i have to say this was probably the best show Alter Bridge has ever done, Live at Amsterdam.
In loving memory is my favorite song by Alter bridge, the guitarist Mark Tremonti wrote it in memory of his mother the emotion Myles puts into it is amazing, definitely a good song to review
That song made me an Alter Bridge fan for life. The album came out the Friday before my mom passed. I listened to In Loving Memory while driving around later that day and had to pull over to cry. Still my favorite song and band.
Please review “Words darker than their wings” live at The Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra behind them. It’s one of the best uses of an orchestra I’ve seen and an amazing vocal performance by Myles culminating in the most amazing finish. Hope you all have an amazing day xx
Don't know if you will read this or not, never seen you before, but the smiles you gave Myles brought tears of joy to my eyes, been captivated by his voice for 15 years and I love to see people's reactions to his incredible talent, he has 2 solo albums Year of the tiger and just released The Ides of March, and thanks for making me smile 😁
Always love watching your videos and your enthusiastic and detailed analysis Elizabeth. I lost my darling wife to cancer in 2019 and this made me emotional, in a good way 🥲. Thank you! Sending love 💙🦋🌻
The live version is soooooo great, because you can really hear the vocal talent... but the studio version with the whole band behind it, is just something different... Still absolutely love your reaction!
I could never get tired of You going back and listening over and over, something about alter bridge that I could listen to the same song again and again…I’ve been listening to them since I was a teenager and the deep feeling of their music is so satisfying.
Ive seen this band at least 20 times now. They always put on a great show and are some very friendly musicians. First time i saw them they all signed my shirt (still have it), i caught Scott Phillips' drum sticks & MKs and MTs guitar pics (& several times since), seen them talk on fans phone to the fans friends/ family. All of them are great. Cant wait for the next album and hope they one day do a studio acoustic album with the whole band.
Myles has said the this song is about someone that has an addiction and they refuse to help themselves and they wonder who is going to watch over them when nobody else is there. I had an opportunity to meet him at one of their shows several years ago and he is such an awesome person.
I love all of this! Not for a YT review as many have rightly commented that "Words Darker Than Wings" from "Live at the RAH" is worth a review, but for me the "Wonderful Life / Watch Over You" performance from the same show is truly spectacular.
7:32 official Myles Kennedy eargasm achieved. 😂 love your vids Elizabeth! haha would highly recommend "Calm the Fire" to hear some of that range backed with the band in a more aggressive nature, the whole "sha-bang" if you will 😁👍
I absolutely love watching your reaction videos. It’s fun to watch you geek out and get excited about what you’re listening to. It’s also great listening to you explain al the technicalities of singing. Keep up the great work!

He is the best one for me. I know NOTHING about this, but as a listener I hear nothing wrong and I feel he's so emotional, nobody performs like him.... Myles is one of my favorite persons in entire world 🌎🌍💛
You were on point with the “co-dependency”. Myles wrote this song about a girlfriend he had a long time ago, who was addicted to drugs and wouldn’t come clean. He is without a doubt the best rock vocalist nowadays. His 4 octave range is AMAZING. I see many have suggested Words Darker Than Their Wings, the video, live from Albert Hall. The note he hits at the end will BLOW YOU AWAY- I literally get chills every single time I hear it! It’s so hard for him to sing live, that they never play this song live- RAH was the first time performing it in front of an audience. And he freaking NAILS it- (check out Marks smile and nod to Myles after the hits it). ❤️🤘🏼 Another great song that shows off his vocal range is Calm the Fire.
Please, truly PLEASE react to Disturbed - The Sound of Silence ft Myles Kennedy... It's truly BREATHTAKING!! The second voice part he brings there is so gorgeous! Goosebumps from head to toes garanteed!
Myles Kennedy has worked with Slash on a few albums, the highlight for me being 'Battleground'. It's such a great melody, which Myles sings so well, ending with some super-Slash !
OMG!! I have been following you for a long time and watching your videos. I love your analysis of these from Metallica and Iron Maiden and Pantera. Honestly I wonder how you were so quarantined off as a youth to these talents. This song brings a tear to my eyes every time I play it; not because I relate, but because the vocals are so powerful, and the way you explain it makes so much sense to me. So much emotion and feeling in this. I'll be watching your interview with Myles next. I look forward to it.
Others have said it, but you need NEED to listen to "Words Darker Than Their Wings" - specifically from the Royal Albert Hall performance the next time you do Alter Bridge. Probably Myles' most impressive performance ever.
Elizabeth, watching your giddy disposition as you experience this song is uplifting. I suffer from severe, treatment-resistant depression, and believe that in some way, I have some emotional tie to some vastness of people, as I can only be content or happy for seconds at a time, before my brain reacts the way you would react receiving news of a loved one's death... I describe this, to say, watching the joy on your face during various parts of the song, provides a sense of brief relief from the darkness, just to see someone else wearing their joy so evidently on their face.

On that live DVD/BD is a short interview where he is being asked how he keeps his voice in shape: "no alcohol, no drugs". And there's the image of rock stars being all druglords.
Slash's first solo album is one of my favorites....so many excellent vocalists, especially Myles's 2 songs. He's a beast
Yep great dvd
Side note: The scene in "Rock Star" where Mark Wahlberg quits and hands over being the frontman to a guy he pulls out of the audience, that guy was Myles Kennedy.
😯🙃
And he was the only one in the movie who they used his real voice for!
Just watched Rockstar again 2 days ago. Never realised it was him until I read about it recently.
Yeah, and he's the only "actor" in that movie that uses his own voice.
That movie is actually how I found Myles and Alter Bridge. I just had to know the person behind that voice. So glad I did my research. :)
"Words Darker Than Their Wings" Live at the Royal Albert Hall. Your ears will thank you.
Awesome, so glad you reacted to Alter Bridge, always been a massive fan of them & Myles is an incredible singer 🙌
Myles Kennedy is a great singer, love his songs with Slash. He also sang this song with Lzzy Hale live in 2013 👍😊
It’s so cool hearing your professional opinion. So cool that you are an expert on analyzing when of the best voices ever!
Let’s hear your voice!
It's here!! Alter Bridge!!! I didn't know this was coming :)
Always love watching your videos and your enthusiastic and detailed analysis Elizabeth. I lost my darling wife to cancer in 2019 and this made me emotional, in a good way 🥲. Thank you! Sending love 💙🦋🌻
Myles is an amazing singer. Glad he’s getting the attention 👏🏻
Loved your review and your reactions to this song! One of my all time favorites. Tears me up every time. Ps. You are so beautiful . 🥰
The live version is soooooo great, because you can really hear the vocal talent... but the studio version with the whole band behind it, is just something different... Still absolutely love your reaction!
I could never get tired of
You going back and listening over and over, something about alter bridge that I could listen to the same song again and again…I’ve been listening to them since I was a teenager and the deep feeling of their music is so satisfying.
Alter Bridge - Blackbird live in Amsterdam or Wembley, one of the most beautiful songs of this wonderful group
This should be a subgenre of youtube where female vocal coaches react to, and inevitably fall in love with Miles Kennedy
Thanks to you now I can "sMiles" Kennedy.
Simply WONDERFUL 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You’ve gotta check out Starlight by Myles and Slash as well. Wild high vocals
My favorite rock singer. Seen him with Alter Bridge and with Slash. Both shows were incredible!
He sings ‘hallelujah’ somewhere on UA-cam on his own, well worth searching out.
There's a version where he plays Jeff Buckley's telecaster. Instant goosebumps.
I first seen him in the movie Rock Star. He sings so well and love all his songs and music. This is by far my favorite song and Artist!!!!!
So accurate expression to this reaction, another great pick. Can't wait!
He is absolutely fantastic in person I have seen them several times!!!!!
Myles is phenomenal. He and Alter Bridge continue to get better with age.
Loved the reaction. My favorite recording of this song is from the Billboard Studio session. Just amazing...
Myles Kennedy has worked with Slash on a few albums, the highlight for me being 'Battleground'. It's such a great melody, which Myles sings so well, ending with some super-Slash !
Your love and passion for music is so enjoyable to watch! I've seen you watch silent lucidity also. It makes me smile
Just love his voice. I could listen to him sing the phone book. Love his stuff with Slash.
Miles' voice is as pretty as you are! Thank you for everything you do!
Yes!! Finally! Can’t wait to see your reaction!
I describe this, to say, watching the joy on your face during various parts of the song, provides a sense of brief relief from the darkness, just to see someone else wearing their joy so evidently on their face.
my first thought when he opened his mouth was, man he's a folk singer, i wish there were more folk singers today.
