Girlfriends is definitely one of my favorite sitcoms right up there with a different world even though I was young I love those shows they are still very much relatable and I would kill for a girlfriends reboot
Unfortunately the television industry loves reality shows. Any type; because they're extremely cheaper than scripted shows like a reboot of Girlfriends would be. Acting doesn't pay like it used too unless you get on an EXTREMELY successful show or become a commodity in movies. The same for music. If people make any money they better hold on to it so they don't end up working at Trader Joe's
@Kd D I totally agree with them putting their own money in and producing it themselves. However "if" the key cast members are not interested in acting in the show it makes it hard for it to happen. Some of the cast may have been happy living their lives off screen doing other projects or raising families. However the timing might be right now or in the near future for a reboot. Actually CBS bought out UPN and the WB and formed the CW and they only kept three shows off UPN which was Girlfriends, everybody hates Chris and all of us . It was a sad time though because other black sitcoms from UPN got the axe and they were really good shows. I was glad they kept girlfriends but they ended it so abruptly without closure because it could have been on the network easily another two to three years. Look at Grey's Anatomy, hell it's been on 16 years so far and doesn't seem to be going anywhere and also Law & Order, it's been on damn near 30 years
