Stumbled across this video and have to say that now I have to make a trip to Home Depot or CTC to get me some angle aluminum so I can build one. Great video! Thanks :)
Wow....$50 in materials and 6 minutes of your time and you've got a killer trailer that your buds will be jealous of. VERY nice !!!!
Just found this channel, glad I did. As a complete noob, who'd like to try his hand at making his own trailer, this video is a HUGE help. Thanks dude!
Nice tutorial dude ! This will be how i build mine as I dont weld .
That’s a great trailer , I think I might make one myself, thanks for explaining how you built it mate .
Congratulations man fantastic creation for rc cart💪💪👌👌👌
nice job great trailer prety easy to do, loved it✌🤟👍👍
subded🙏👍
Thanks...I used 8/32 threaded rod and 1/4 brake line. The threaded rod fits perfect inside the brake line. I didn't use any bearings so there is some friction but nothing that will hinder it....The trailer rolls smooth.
Good looking trailer i was wondering how to build one quick and easy thanks for the help.
you make it look so simple. I would't know where to start.... great idea!
Nice build !! and that cat is amazing looking!
Thank you for the video , I just finished making on out of a IKEA metal shelf , I didn't no how to attach the wheels but now I see , so wicked Mon !!!!
Awesome video
I gave it a shot today and I was practicing my angles for the corners
After doing it today you need to mark out a 45 degree angle for ur cuts or it wont bend correctly
I also tried just straight edges example 4 seperate pieces snd riveting it together or screws it works but needs so grinding and filing for my liking
Then I went and got steel angle and tried brazing took to much time and way to heavy
So im thinking 45 degree cut and bend it and b done with it and then rivet the last corner
Good simple design.
Using that aluminum, if you don't want rivets showing, you could easily solder in the mesh in spots with a good iron.
Nice job overall.
Be well and have fun.
YOU HAVE A BENGAL CAT!! AMAZING!!. oh and thanks for the "how to" vid, very use full!
I purchased all my materials from Canadian tire. The mesh is used to keep leaves and debris out of your houses rain gutter. Not sure the exact name but it comes in a bundle with 4 sheets of it. If you ask the CDN tire guy should be able to point you in the right directions. The aluminum is (Alum- Angle 1/16" x 3/4"). Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anymore info
What a coincidence, my friend Shawn?
Yesterday I finished making a trailer for my Jetboat with aluminium.
Great Job. Yours is Awesome.
Dude I would love to build one of thos just a little bigger to put on my X maxx and pull the 4s maxx I walk around my neighborhood with my trucks alot and that would really turn heads. Awesome build.
the most informative build .....EVER!nice one man keep'em comin
I used a piece of 8/32 threaded rod inserted into a 1/4 break line. Then the break line is cut to the withe of the trailer. Now I hold the piece of brake line between the two mounting plates that I installed and then the threaded rod is just inserted into the break line. Now on the outside of the mounting brackets you need to instal washers or whatever you have on hand for spacer. The treaded rod is spiining on its self
Great job man! Looks like a pro did it! Glad you did this build. Im trying to build a trailer but didnt know where to start
Love it. Will make for a perfect base for my 1:10 vintage travel trailer.
WOW...!!! Love this... You mean I don't have to spend 245$ at RC4WD..? AMAZING...!!!
Nice job, but I REALLY like the cat that stepped into view for a second....looked like a mini-cougar !!!
Nice! I just built a trailer today and it is 15" by 30". It's big, park a slash on it and have enough space to parka wraith on it. Or 2 traxxas rustlers.
Nice....I'm making one out f 18 gauge stainless steel...24"x11" with a 10 degree bend for a ramp and 2.2 tires....should have it by Tuesday
I just built on just like yours except I used nylon lock nuts rather then using double nuts works grate just a suggestion. And thank you for the grate ideas.
shawnroy81 honestly i would have welded it.. well thats just me but i am the only man alive who wants to use a bandit as a tow vehicle so................. take it with a grain of salt in my defense i am just towing on road so i can tow my scx10 to my local park and i dont have to carry it
I just pulled out random hardware from my junk drawer. What I did do @ the end was replace everything with Rivets which is much faster and easier. The rivet gun was under 10$ and it came with 100 rivets well enough to do the job
That's an awesome job. Def given me ideas for when I want to build my trailer. Cheers for your video
wow bro this is a work of art , simple straight to the point love it!
Everything works great. No need to reinforce anything. I have a trail video of me pulling it loaded with a rig in some very rough terrain and it survived that. The mesh is from Canadian tire and is used for rain gutters around your house. Keeps leaves out.
I am going to make one for my self looks nice and fun
Nice one and thank you for sharing. I've been looking for ideas how to build one for my boys truck. One thing that drove me bonkers is some of the comments on this video. Give me this, give me that. Lads, the man here gave you the 💡 idea!!! What more do you want? Get off your bums, go to the local hardware, grab some tools and materials and Do it!!!! And yes, USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!!!! I'm tired of people just waiting and begging for things. He shared enough, the rest is up to the rest of us. Rant over
Awesome job. I just found this video and had to subscribe, this is exactly what I need to do for my scx10 jeep. There is a Canadian Tire a few miles from me that carries all the materials you used. Thanks for showing this build.
thanks. hope to see everybody on the trails with trailers...LOL
Great work. Looks great.
just a ballend on the truck and a ballend cap for the trailer. It alows it to move and pivot plus I had a few laying around
best video yet I've seen well its got me going out Monday and getting what I need to make one a big thank you for the post
dude thats sick
I used 1/4" brake line and 8/32" threaded rod. The threaded rod spin freely in the brake line. Maybe a bid of grease if you want and then my "L" brackets to attach it all the the Trailer. I thread some Nuts on the threaded rod for spacers and that's pretty much it. It mite take a bit of tweaking with washers to get the spacing just right
Thanks man...Appreciate it. yep a nut and a piece of brake line as a spacer. It roles free because I have a bit of space so it doesn't bind...I will be working on making that better.
I made one just like it this video helped me a lot
use some solder to hold where you bent it because it may be weak there, but looks great gonna do this for my scx10 im gettin
I have been using this trailer for over 2 years and I put it to the test for sure. It's holding up great
You made it look to easy, good job man, looks great
not sure what mine was but that will do. You don't need anything overkill
I used the same angle for everything. For the hitch peace I only used a rod ball end. The bumper I use is a Rockarmor and the hitch it comes with is a ball. So to hitch everything up I just press the ball end on the ball of the hitch
Awesome idea.
Perfect video, great walk through. If I could suggest anything is put the list of materials you bought into the description. I want to build this same trailer and I'm very impressed how simple you made it look... I can follow those instructions thanks. (y)
+RCforU Thank you very much. Its an old build of mine so I don't have the part list anymore. IF you look in the comments on the video im sure you will be able to find it. If I do get the info I will for sure post it. Thanks again
+shawnroy81 I have the angle iron cut and ready a while ago, I bought Canadian tire gutter guard last night. hubs and axle still needed
That looks great man!! Beauty work. Been thinking for a long time, yours could be the easiest. Love the aluminum look. Plus it's light.
nice...they are fun to build. Pretty simple.
great video, i am thinking on doing a trailer like that, what are the dimientions on the angle iron???
Thanks man...Appreciate it. I will post another trailer build video probably this weekend as I am building a smaller trailer to haul random scale accessories.
Thanks Buddy! ! Hoping to see a trailer for the mini mono boat from a while back!
sorry to bug ya man but... this is a cool trailer very little money. my questions are....what size piece did u use for the tongue from and was it cut the same as the frame. how did u determine wheel base. and how long did u cut threaded rod and did nut fit and set into brake line. one nut in brake line on on inner frame and other on outer frame???? did u put a bearing in the wheel. sorry man but ur stuff is rather cool. love the videes just hard to catch it all in fast motion lol. great work
That trailer very cool
how did you get the 3/8 threaded rode to not move in and out with the tires mounted? it looks like you used the 1/4 brake line on the outside of the axel.
Great practical skills....👍
Around two inches in the back you should make anther triangle cut on both sides to make a beaver tail for the trucks
what did you use to hook it up? and of i wanted to put a road car what could i use for ramps? thanks for this amazing vid tho
Do you think we can use the same size angle for everything or does it have to be different sizes? Don't forget to show the hitch part!!! Thumbs Up and favorited and u got a subscriber.
yeah, if i get a scaler, could i use it too? i already know your answer but making sure.
How have you fixed the threaded bar and still got the wheels to spin? You’ve fixed the bar both sides of the bracket
How does it ride without suspension? Im building a trailer myself and have gotten the decking squyared away. Just stuck on how to mount axles. Thinking about going no suspension vs the leaf springs I was intended. Thoughts?
What size screws do you use for this?
Hey, if you drill the holes on the axel mounts oval shaped from top to bottom it would give it some travel for the wheels to articulate some when its moving over terrain that's not completely flat, just a thought
Looks awesome!
What will be strong enough to be a 22 inch long trailer and 12 inch wide for a slash and a tf2 to pull? What will be best angle aluminum, channel, or square tubing? I might haul a heavy metal diecast john deere 544j wheel loader that is almost completely steel? Any ideas which will be strong enough and still easy to build with out welding it.
Awesome project dude
Just subbed to your channel for the support and interest in building my own little 124th scale trailer looking for idea any chance uh remembsr what exactly u used and what i should order great work by the way
What's making your tires hold straight? The car in the middle of building a trailer myself and I'm a little stuck on keeping the wheel straight not wobbling all over the place.
cool and easy trailer build! subed!
That's gona be my next build. A trailer for my NQD Brushless JetBoat
simple and effective nice job.
While saving money from buying cheap materials, you could buy a propper tools such as a little hummer. And what about sower mesuring tape? :D
Anyway, great VDO with even greatel final result ;)
Will the bends enter need reenforcing? Or is it strong to last for a while. What kind of mesh did u use?
Looks good. You need some tie down straps!
Very cool I might have to make one to lol
Please show how u did ur hitch! Awesome video.
Could you send me a list of materials that you used metal, screws, drill bit etc. and awesome build good video.
Awesome man , very helpful video ,
Great build Shawn!! Dont know if u have made ur Hitchcock yet but if not check mine out! It allows the trailer to have full articulation. Dont know if uve seen mij 6x6 crawler now got a homemade rollcage On......
Very cool. Thumbs up from me.
I used old Proline Hammers and axial beadlock from my Dingo but anything will do. The trailer tires dont matter. On another trailer I built I ended up using my tamiya highlift rims and tires that I never used. Anything will do. Prices I can't really help with you would have to check ebay or your local hobby shop.
Where about in Canadian tire did u find the brake line. I was there today and couldn't find any
Merci.C’était très simple. J'ai utilise 8/32 alltread rod et un ligne a frein de 1/4
what is the mesh used , and what kind of aluminum? if you are from canada let me know where you got them :)
for the mounting braked I just secured two rectangle piece of aluminum to the trailer sides. Lined it up with the one across from it and then drilled a hole just big enough for the threaded to to fit in but the brake line will not go through. That way the brake line is held under the trailer between the mounting plates.
Did you do a video of making the coupler to hook to the ball also a video on how you did the hitch or reciever
About 20yrs ago , I had an R/C Jeep n boat trailer with a small R/C speed boat. The towing hitch snapped and I as young kid was upset. My dad made a tow joint using a 1/4" universal socket drive joint. He glued one end of the u/j on to the trailer, then he glued a small 1/4" socket to the broken tow point on the jeep. Next he drilled out the ball lock and using a split pin, locked it in place. I could remove the pin and use the jeep only, worked great for ages.
I'm kinda confused on the drive shaft. my tires keep unscrewing when I pull it
All I used was aluminum angle from Canadian tire and some screws. The axles are 8/32 threaded rod and 1/4 brake line. The mesh was a kit from Canadian tire for covering your rain gutters. Nothing specific. You can try other materials.
nice work, im planning a similar project soon. nice looking cat, bengal?
Thanks...I love my trailer...LOL...I still use it all the time. Cheap to make and extremely durable.
I used a ball head screw and then a ball head cup. They just snap on and off.
Any way to leave a list of what you used? I have been looking to make one but I don't have access to a welder to make one and what you have done is amazing thanx for sharing also people like you who enlighten other are great thanx again ..
