What Clint looks for in a replacement heifer

Here are some of the main things that Clint looks for when he's selecting which replacement heifers he wants to raise vs sell to the feedlot for beef. We keep around 15 replacement heifers each year that will join our cow herd when they grow. Through A.I'ing, we have been able to breed top tier genetics into our cow herd. We want to raise our own heifers vs buying someone else's every year. Clint will purchase a bred heifer from other breeders to bring in new genetics and frankly, because he loves buying cattle. All the heifers in this video are pure Angus with a couple that a f1 cross (hereford and angus). We do love the F1 cross and many of our cows in our herd are F1's.
