Dear Book buddy brother you are doing a very good job by connecting today's youth with Iqbal's thoughts
Your half-point is valid that every knowledgeable Muslim who has adequate knowledge of the Quran & Ahadees has the right to do ijtihad in those matters where we don't find direct commandments in the Quran or Ahadees but Ijtihad is not something as you are portraying it, because Ijtihad must be derived from the basic principles given in Quran and Sunnah, It is not independent thinking rather Ijtihad must be based on the basic principles of Quran & Ahadees.
For example, In the matter of organ donation, obviously, there is not a direct verse or hadith regarding this topic. Still, Islamic scholars have derived some rules by Ijtihad from the basic principles of Quran & Hadees like:
You can't donate the vital or necessary organs of a living person. (like Heart or Eyes), because the Quran says:
"Do not cast yourselves into harm/destruction with your own hands" (Al-Quran 2:195)
"Do not kill yourselves" (Al-Quran 4:29)
You can donate organs that don't cause major harm to a donor's life but can save the life of someone (like 1 kidney, blood, or Liver) Because the Quran says "Whoever saved a life is like as he saved the whole mankind" (Quran 5:32), So if you save someone's life without putting yourself into harm
then it is 100% permissible and encouraged according to the previous verses of the Holy Quran.
Donation after death is allowed because you're saving someone's life without putting someone else's life in danger as he's already dead. (but his or his relative's willingness must be involved).
You can't donate anyone's organ against their will. (i.e. Force donation). etc
As you can clearly see, Ijtihad isn't independent thinking rather it must be based on the basic principles of ISLAM. You can't just independently make any Ijtihad that violates the basic principles of ISLAM. But YES you can disagree with someone else's ijtihad but your disagreement must be on the grounds of basic Islamic principles, not your own desires.
Whatever you said above is actually known as discrepancy. The makers of this book didn't pay attention to what they are writing & made mistakes. That's why it says one thing in one chapter or verse, & another in a different verse or chapter.

Brother , I am a student of Islam and Islamic Banking as well . I am studying Science of Fiqh and Science of Hadith etc.
What you said did not cover whole topic because its a vast and complex topic. Its not so easy thing like you just made it .
There is a process to derive a law in Islam . First its seen in Quran, if it is founded then its implemented if not then Hadith, if not found then Ijma (Concensus) if not then Qiyas .
A matter which is clearly stated in Quran or Hadith can't be changed.
After that , Ijma and Qiyas too are based on Quran and Hadiths , they aren't self created thoughts or something.
One more important matter is that not every layman has right to do Ijtihad . Why ? Because
1) He does not have knowledge of Whole Islam i.e Quran and Hadith . He doesn't know Arabic , he didn't read all Hadiths . Knowledge of Quran is sooo vast , one has to know Arabic Grammar, Linguistics, Its real and metaphorical meaning. Background of Ayaats etc .
2) If every layman does Ijtihad then the real shape of deen will be molded and every person will act on his will (for what he likes , not what Islam says) . He will mold it for his own satisfaction and desires.
I have a question. Have you ever discussed these matters with any Scholar ? Because after that you will know what the real picture is .
I do agree Ullamas did made mistakes but criticizing Ullamas like this and rejecting everything is not acceptable.

Moreover, the Turkish poet's reference here is relatable but not acceptable. Since, Allah Himself has chosen the language because of its expanse and depth. We can read its translations in urdu but it can never grasp the beauty of the original language it was revealed in. We should strive to learn it like English.

Though Its not the full exlpaination but this video touches the most basic concepts of the problems with muslims which grow under dark and these are the basics points which even Dr Iqbal was not so clear. Yeah....

Listening to this, it seems that every law can be changed according to the need of the time, as other books have been changed before the Quran. If there is a question of independence every person and every other scholar will try to prove himself independent and the unity will be broken, We worldly literate people always criticize Islamic scholars but there is not a single person among us who can interpret Islam properly which is why we need scholars necessarily.

Good summary! None of the laws are fixed! Law is based on situation and context. It is not a fixed set of rules that can be applied universally to every case. There is a reason there is very little law in the Quran. God wants us to do our own due diligence based on situation and circumstances and become responsible human beings. God wants us to be good situational managers! Fiqh is all man made not divine! There is only one pillar of Islam, and that is Tawheed. That is, make Allah your master and your motivator and nothing and no body else! This the 'essence' of Islam ! Everything else is man made!

Dear mentioned that the cause of the expansion of Islam was in its acceptance of good thouths but it was not so. Mohammad ( saw) lived in makka for 13 years in his early life and there were < 100 followers of him. Later he shifted to madina and only in 10 years he completely turned madina a Islamic area with the power of SWORD not by his teachin.

"Tajdeed o ayha Deen" by Maudodi shb.
Maududi Sahab gave wrong political interpretation of Islam and unfortunately many Terrorists were born out of that interpretation like the Muslim Brotherhood and other extremist organisations.
Yes read Maududi's books but the real Islam is propagated with proper Political understanding by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan.

I think the meaning of ijtihad is that the whole of Islam should be understood first, only then will ijtihad be needed on any particular occasion.
But in this video, you ignored the three things that precede Ijtidad and explained only Ijtihad. What is the criteria of a person doing Ijtihad? It cannot be done by a single person, but it can be done by those who already Quran, Hadith, and all of Sharia laws completely and whom we call Ulmaas, not scientists, not poets, and so on...
Sir,some islamic laws have changed,neither in the books nor by design.
Examples: All moulvis as well as muslims have come on youtube with ferocity,internet pornography, banking(islamic ?),credit cards,females in full public domain though at times with hijab,burqa,chador,and all males in western dress(turikiye).

You are wrong, only Permanent things and beliefs cannot be changed like the basic Shahada, otherwise all other things can be scrutinised by Logical Reasoning and Rationalism. For example the issue of Beard which is made popular by Contemporary clergy.
After doing Ijtihad, Muslims will love Secularism, Democracy and Human Rights because they are the most ideal systems in entire human history.

No doubt, Knowledge of Iqbal was much more than Mullahs but Iqbal was also not infallible, and he also made mistakes, *and sometime he made those mistakes intentionally* in order to avoid direct conflict with Mullah-Mafia. if every one starts making laws in their favor then there would be no worth of this law. There would be no influence of quran o ahdees. (my opinion)
