It could be useful for anyone prototyping headcount for shifts that have to cover for anticipated crowd sizes. (When I do randomizations like that, I also ad control ranges to enable rapid up/downsizing of test values.)
Or, suppose you want to randomize sales based on weather, temp, a given holiday, popularity of events, and by ice cream flavor.
Or, suppose you want to simulate depletion of inventory. You could randomize numbers of customer purchases, unit counts, dollar amounts, taxes, and more, all to test viability of a biz model in mind for given prices, sizes, and lease durations of real estate.
So, you could potentially wow a lender by showing you've got a well-defined randomized model of break even points. If you deeply build the model, it might make some bankers shut up and lend the money.
(In my case, in 2002, when I randomized numbers in a biz model for a coffee shop plan, 2 bankers tried to avoid returning my biz plan (paper version, but, on my laptop, I showed the digital version. It was in Lotus 1-2-3), but I got back my copies since they refused to fund me because I refused to let them have first place on my home mortgage, which was at 5.95 APR (I'm a veteran), and commercial rates were over 7 to 8.5 %.)
