Any review is based on my experience with the product(s) featured. No firearms or products are advertised to be sold in this or any video on this channel, and RTT: Guns & Gear does not sell firearms. For those who have issues with plain English. This video isn't about the quality of one optic over another. That should be obvious if you bothered watching the video. It's about not letting these Chinese companies walk all over you and taking advantage of you as a channel.
*cough cough 704 tactical cough!
Great points! Been a subscriber for years and definitely value your input.
@mtnyoda3257 I appreciate the support man!! Thanks for sticking around for so long. And thanks for watching!
What's the difference between an American company optic made in China and a Chinese optic made in China?
@@drysori The company and the quality requirements. There's no such thing as a 100% US made electronic optic.
Damn right!
@eltenda Thanks bro!!
Great overview.

Great info Brother

Add cyelee
@gripaimsqueeze I mention Cyelee in the video.

I have a cheap like $20 CV Life Red Dot on my AR-9 SBR. That gun is just a fun range toy, not for defending my life, so it is a cheapie. I have been amazed with it. The thing holds zero, I have dropped it in the mud and water, and the thing keeps on working. I also have a severe astigmatism and it is one of the only red dots that doesn't look like a flower of 5 dots to me. I have a Monstrum 1X Prism with a lighted radical on my AR-15 SBR. I have trained with it in the rain, crawled in the mud and bushes with it and it just works too. That being said I have about 15 cheap amazon red dots and scopes that are worth the metal they are made out of. I don't really do reviews though
I think you missed the entire point of the video
As an upstart channel, I love the advice. As of now, anything I've reviewed has been bought and paid for by me or in the case of some ammo I reviewed, was donated by a viewer.
@@cloaksforswords Awesome! I'm glad it could help. And I'll check out the channel as well! Thanks for watching!
@@RTTGunsGear Thanks! It's a crude start, but we all start somewhere. I've followed you for a while and seen the constant improvement. I do miss some of the longer form camping, illegal alien hunting videos, etc. But I get how much of a time suck it is putting out long form content.
Just here for the ShiLL comments 😏🍿
Great info. Ammo is a big expense. I was looking at it two ways. Either cut the ammo usage in video or just refuse to review it. I’m not just talking about cheap products. I’m talking about all videos. It’s just getting too expensive.
@jesseboutdoors Agreed! Thanks bro!
This video is 💯% accurate 👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I Don't always make content, but when I do it's trash.
Even still I probably wouldn't take that deal.
Im surprised that you didn't have vector optics on the list! I have a friend that bought a vector circle dot reticle sight and I have a holosun hs512 circle dot reticle and the vector circle dot is so small it's almost unusable! I told my friend that he should go with a know quantity at least
@hopewilliams6705 I have exactly zero experience with them and I don't know their policy on dealing with UA-camrs. This was less about the quality of an optic, as much as the loss people are taking reviewing cheap optics. I do know that most Chinese companies won't give GunTubers ammo, etc... They just expect the optic to be compensation enough.
an average 8-10 minute video i often put 10-12 hours of editing into it
@@unclecushion I can 100% see that! Thanks for watching Cush!
You do quality work with memes, video clips, news articles, and other graphics and it shows on every video you do.
Trijicon need to be up hwre holosun all of them take advantage i have a buddy had 2 expensive trijicon and had to send them back for that price it better walk water companies period take advantage
I can't understand a single thing you said
I mean olight changed the game for a lot of companies. Wireless charging, (they had one mistake that wasn't olights fault. Guy used wrong charger light went boom. So they changed that.) They changed the lazer&light game. Their pocket lights are amazing for edc... the red dot, yes, is trash it's 1st gen.. don't for get the qd mounting to guns. They changed that game too..
@SirArcticPB Olight changed the game alright. They managed to market their sub-par low quality products to the point of popularity. Not because they're any good. The company is as shady as they come. They're a Wish/Temu company that gained a toxic and rabid following. Like PSA. They're par of the reason that sub quality products have mysteriously become acceptable. They changed the game. But not for the better.
Don’t forget, Olight is the only light company with a confirmed kill.
Matt, I feel you 100% man. I did a few YT videos way back when I was following Pop's Quest and that group. I still think the world of those guys and that whole group, I just know I don't have the resources, time, or interest to make vid's like they were back then. The time alone it takes to setup, film, reload mags, and then edit it is astounding. If the company that contacts you ain't willing to pony up some ammo and a couple of 500 dollar bills, tell them to go F themselves. LOLOL, in a nice way of course. Time is money man, end of story. The price of ammo, camera gear, gazoline, range fees, and so on...Nope....if the product company ain't payin for my time, they ain't getting it. Also one last totally unrelated remark, I'm not a gear snob when it comes to my shooting sports hobby. In fact, I shop online for the best price an every piece of gear I buy. Gundeals has been stellar. That said, I draw the line on red dots. Holosun is my standard on dots, and Primary Arms and Vortex are my standard on all other glass. The warranty from the latter two is simply unbeatable. I don't have anything at all against Chinese made stuff. If I did, I wouldn't own much. LOL My other hobby of 50 years if guitar. I'm a Blues player for 50 plus years now. I still kinda suck, but I know my gear. I am kind of a snob with that in that I know what I love. China is currently making some superb instruments....the high end Epiphone stuff at 13 to 15 hundred a guitar rivals the guitars of their parent company, Gibson, IMHO. Cheers man. I hoe the other YT guys out there take a lesson from you on this. It's on point man.
Great points on these! Glad you made this video for those who don't think about the real cost of reviewing junk. Honestly, after shooting for 14 yrs, and thousands spent on scpoes and gear, I wouldn't ever waste my time in a scope for less than $400. Unless it was either on a PA scope or, an Arken.
I'm not a UA-camr so I guess this video isn't for me. I don't understand how these optics aren't worth it, (title) just that the sellers are salesman.
i truly enjoy your rviews and POV of all things. and i agree , pound for pound u get what ya pay for.. i have a huge mix of optics.. and yes, my high end one do an awesome job..no joke.. BUT.. for some reason i have to say my monstrum 1-6 lpvo has been holding its ground on punishment.. i am not shilling.. but man.. i am always amazed at the punishment i have given my monstrum and is keeps on ticking.. lol.. but for the record, my vortex and PA optics have been with out doubt doing the best! and yes i agree 100% abount ur investment per time thhinking.. i just wanted to give a shot to say, how surprised i was about my monstrum
I did a video on a Monstrum 1-6 LPVO a handful of years ago and was pleased with it then. Especially for the money. I don't have it anymore. But a friend of mine is using it and it's still going. Thanks for watching.
A lot of these optics are being made by the same supplier with some cosmetic differences and name on the optic and box. Cyelee, Gideon, and C&H Precision optics are using the same companies in China. C&H charges the most while Cyelee charges the least with Gideon in the middle on average. Seems like Gideon understands the market better and offers more incentives to get reviews.
@@joshandmanuela Gideon also offers a better product than Cyelee. A common misunderstanding is the same supplier manufacturer = same product, just rebranded. And that's not at all the case.
@@RTTGunsGear I have the Cyelee Wolf 2 and the Gideon Alpha. Same screws, same reticle, same battery cover. The Cyelee has a button on each side while the Gideon has 2 buttons on the left. The Gideon has slightly wider glass. Both have the circle dot green reticle if you want to compare them yourself. I don't believe for one second that either one is superior to the other. They are nearly the same except for the button placement and the glass size. Cyelee does not sell a 100% identical product to the Gideon but you can easily tell they are made at the same factory when you compare them side by side. Gideon has better marketing. I can't speak for any of the other optics sold by Cyelee because I have not had them in my hand.
@joshandmanuela Just because something looks the same or is from the same factory, doesn't mean optics are the same. From the emitter type and quality, types of metals used, to even the amount of resin used in the electronics, the adhesives used to install the glass, etc.. are massive differences between optics that are even made in the same factory. Also, the quality control is another. The difference between running an entire line of red dots and checking one in so many. To lining them up before getting boxed and looking at each reticle before it ships. Are just a few differences that make Gideon Optics better. But hey "they look the same" must mean they are the same...right?
💯 Well said!
