VERDICT
Chinese commuter bikes are slowly gaining quite a popularity due to their low pricing and good mileage. Over the years people have started to leave the old thinking of “Chinese products are unreliable” and have started to accept Chinese motorcycles for how good they are. Zaara 100 is a 100cc Chinese commuter bike that is imported and distributed by H Power.
H Power has been engaged in various types of businesses since 1995. Since its inception, H Power now has been trying to manufacture motorcycles with the newest technologies and highest efficiency. H Power mostly works in the assembly of motorcycles, which they import as CKD units and then assemble here in Bangladesh. The H Power Max Z is also a Chinese motorcycle that is imported by H Power.
H Power Motor generally sources its motorcycles and scooters from various vendors and companies from China. Hence, they rebrand their sourced models under their brand name H Power. Further few models of motorcycles were kept with original brand names. Hence all of their marketed models are commonly known as H Power motorcycles. The Zaara 100 is also a Chinese motorcycle that is imported by H Power.
Key Features
The Zaara 100 comes in two attractive colors. They are Red and Black. Both the bikes are of gloss finish. Both the colors come with sporty, but different decals. The decals are very simple but make the bike stand out.
The Zaara 100 comes with a basic light setup. The headlight is a halogen light, which is enough for the city commute, but not the best for the highway. The taillight is also halogen, which is bright enough to be noticed. The indicators are also halogen bulbs. Coming to the design of the lights, the lights look like something taken off of a bike from the late 90s.
The Zaara 100 comes with a very informative instrument cluster. The instrument cluster has a speedometer, an odometer, a trip meter, an RPM counter, a fuel gauge, a gear position indicator (digital), and other necessary indicators. Most of the instrument cluster is analog. An analog instrument cluster may be appealing but is quite a hassle to understand at one single glance, which is why this instrument cluster is not very ideal.
The Zaara 100 comes with a fairly modern commuter design but is not very rugged. The bike does not scream out “sport”, rather whispers “sensible’ with its design. The bike has a very compact design, which will enable it to be maneuvered easily through heavy traffic. The bike also has a stock luggage rack, which will make it easy for the pillion to hold on or to carry a large amount of baggage easily.
Physical Attributes
The Zaara 100 has an average height of 780mm, which is suitable for most people shorter than 5’8”. People above that height might have difficulty while sitting. Regardless of the short seat height, the bike has a very good ground clearance of 200mm. The bike also has a large fuel tank of 12liters, which will be extremely helpful during long rides out of town.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Zaara 100 are 1970mm, 780mm, 1050mm, and 105Kg. As you can see, the bike is on the lighter side. The weight will not cause fatigue to the rider in heavy traffic. The bike is very compact, as it is quite thin, but it has an average wheelbase of 1265mm, which is not very suitable for high-speed cornering.
Engine and Transmission
The Zaara 100 has a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 98.4cc engine. It is carbureted and air-cooled. The Zaara 100 has been down-tuned to make the power more commuter-friendly. The engine produces 6.03BHP of power at 7500rpm, and 7.5NM of torque at 5500rpm. This down-tune will improve the efficiency of the bike. The bike has a mileage of around 60kmpl.
The Zaara 100 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. The bike also comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The top speed of the Zaara 100 is expected to be around 100kmph.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels
The Zaara 100 comes with a full drum braking system. The front wheel gets a drum brake, which is good enough for emergency braking in this bike, but it isn’t the best or the safest option. A disc brake at the front would have done more just to this bike. The rear is also a drum, which is okay for this bike.
