I have been watching a lot of tutorials on this for the past week....this is by FAR the CLEAREST, MOST CONCISE, MOST ACCURATE one yet! Amazing job Steven. Shows the functions of every single part of the board without any fancy vocabulary. Yes, pretty basic, for beginners, but still EXTREMELY helpful. THANKS!
Was just about to post a comment exactly like this, first video I've watched of this guy and he seems to understand how confusing everything is a beginner and does a great job to explain everything in a simple but not patronising way.
I like the detail this video goes into especially mentioning the software because many tutorials do not. However, I wouldn’t suggest as a beginner to solely rely on the sync button, it is much better to beat match by ear as a beginner, using the pitch slider and searching through the track with the wheel.
Everything is "simple as that", says the professional lol. But really tho, good lip tutorial, I'm gunma be buying this controller soon and will be learning what i need through this video
Hi! I just ugraded my Mixtrack Pro to Pro 3 on sunday and I found it hard to make a manual loop which was much easier on Pro. Another thing which I was concerned of on your video and I hope you did realize it yourself and that SHOULD be mentioned on your video aswell. Never make the line go RED! It clips your speakers and may bust them in time :( I wanted to get also as someone already mentioned on comments to know the feature of pads and sampler working aswell. Thank you for your tutorial video!
I ordered the mixtrack 3 over the pro due to price as I plan to just be a bedroom DJ and I liked how Virtual DJs layout was over Serato. Im hoping it will work the same as this unit in the video for the most part aside from the sound card being in the laptop vs the mixer!
Fantastic tutorial video. Thank you very much! I just purchased a Numark Mixtrack 3 (not the Pro 3 version), and I see that it is basically similar. I had noticed on another video by someone else that the Mixtrack 3 needs an Audio Interface, but the Pro 3 does not. Will I need to purchase an Audio Interface? I'm new to music and DJ'ing, so it's much appreciated if anyone can help shed some light on this subject. Thank you in advance.
Well, you might need an audio interface if you want to cue music on your headphones on the other deck.As you might notice, mixtrack 3 does not have any output ports.it just has a port to connect to the usb of the Computer. So,for the output to the speakers, you can directly connect the speakers to the computer's 3.5mm audio port. It's okay to do this, but the quality you get will be low, compared to the output from an audio interface.
Basstian This is great advice! Thank you very much. I may just keep the Mixtrack 3 for home use and upgrade to controller with all of the audio inputs/outputs built right in. Thank you for taking the time to help out.
My father was oncea DJ . As a little boy, I always admired him when he would allow me to come with him. I have the opportunity to buy this controller. I see one o Ebay for $50. I'm leaning towards buying it. I want to learn how to mux. Im not into the scratching.
So I just got the mixtrack pro 1 and using intro. could you do more tutorials for transitions please. I am confused on others when having it cued at the "first beat of the track". Seems off when I bring it in
Is that possible to play the sound on a different output hardware? Like exemple: I want to have my sound on my mac or my external audio interface instead the internal audio interface of the MTPRO3 and play it only with the USB cable connected and the headphone. That look like complicated, but just thinking about it, that very simple! :)
+Maccerz118 you would need to upgrade the included Serato DJ Intro to the FULL Serato DJ version from www.serato.com - this includes the feature to record your own mixes on top of all the other special features unlocked such as more FX etc
Good Job on the tutorial, but I have a question I couldnt figure out. I recently upgraded from a mixtrack pro 2 to the pro 3 and am somehow missing the beatjump-feature. I have enabled it in Serato DJ settings and the software button are shown, but I cant figure out the combination on the controller. Can someone help me out? :) Thanks in advance
i wanna have Samples to use the sample Pads on the bottom but i don't understand how i can get Samples on it...tried already some things and actually had a Sample but when i pressed it there was no sound ^^ Pls help me :D I just want a clap or a drum for the Sample buttons o.O
Good point. I used to use gain on the ol' Technics decks when getting the pitch set correct. Been looking at a set of digital decks but really could use some gain for each channel. Please, don't tell me to use auto gain or sync either.
I'm still trying to figure out how to edit out music, or vocals.. And record using virtual Dj. As well as laying down a solid beat... Wow, I'm so green at this... I've had the mixtrack3 for three weeks now.. At least I understand music somewhat coming frm a jazz and rock band... Help?? Thanks, all of Dj's really are helpful.. That's really cool too. If possible, I'd give you my email. Just not posting it here for obvious reasons.
all this looks & sounds great. But I still miss the old school turn tables and records. You have to be a computer geek to master this new type of dj equipment (And I don't mean no disrespect or offense towards any computer geek, cause I wish I was one right about now, in this day in age lol).
please dose mixtrack pro3 work with serato & virtual dj 8 becasuei try using my it toldme i will only have 10min of try vision .... now it dose not work on my laptop any more
Roland Vanxbone you need to purchase full version of VirtualDJ for it to work or get a license for your specific controller from them. Serato DJ Intro should work no bother with this controller however.
+Jacob Freeman the mixtrack pro has a soundcard. most computers have soundcard, but are not meant for this. they have a longer latency. but you can buy beter soundcards than the mixtrack po has for under 100 bucks.
+Isaiah Pittss Doesn't matter what type but minimum requirements are listed as 1GB RAM, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. However we recommend i5 and around 4GB if you want to have smooth performance, especially when adding effects.
I'm having some probs with my mixtrack pro 3..when I start the program an plug the controller, the both sides show up then deck b disappears. It also says something about error connecting audio or something like that..help needed please
+paul joseph Hey Paul, it could be a problem with your driver, make sure they're updated and that you've got the latest version of Serato DJ Intro. Hope that helps!
+alejandro Hernandez Hey Alejandro, great stuff. It should be as simple as downloading from this page here - serato.com/dj/downloads if you have any issues we recommend contacting Serato directly.
Seen these vids and bought a mix track pro 3.when I use it the music does not play proper its like the snogs shutter and the lights dim on the mix track.if I play the songs on the laptop they play perfect anyone know what I doing wrong???
+sadamatt As yes, there's no recording function built into Serato DJ intro, but you this article might help you - support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202304744-Recording-your-mix-with-Audacity. Our you could record the audio signal from your master output on the back using an audio interface.
It comes with a A to B USB cable for connecting to computers, laptops etc. You'd need a pair of powered speakers that should have the connections you need to plug in at the back. Besides that, a pair of headphones with either jack input at the Mixtrack Pro 3 caters for both.

Agree!
Just got my mixtrack pro yesterday and this was way more helpful than the tutorials on the software . Thanks dude!
Thanks so much this is so help full because I just got the mix track pro 3 and I'm a beginner and this helps so much thanks😊
brief, simple, concise and straight to the point. thanks man

Love the simple way you have explained it
THANK YOU

Spot on dude ;-)...... Mixed along time ago.... Found this vid very very helpful.... Nice little mix by the way 👍🏻👌🏻
Everything is "simple as that", says the professional lol. But really tho, good lip tutorial, I'm gunma be buying this controller soon and will be learning what i need through this video

Does the software include the music or do you know a seperate subscription to a music platform as well? And if so, is Soundcloud okay to use?
My father was oncea DJ . As a little boy, I always admired him when he would allow me to come with him. I have the opportunity to buy this controller. I see one o Ebay for $50. I'm leaning towards buying it. I want to learn how to mux. Im not into the scratching.
Really good stuff
Soo clearly ... Thanks a lot !!!!!
well done! Can you need it with bluetooth?
Do you know a software with a bluetooth function?
thanks great video!
great video man it help me so much 😃 i have a question
¿does the numark includes the speakers or not you have to buy it apart right?
+DJ XEFREX You'd need to get some speakers separately.
+GUITARGUITAR the speakers need to be color white & red to be compatible with the mixtrack
@@guitarguitaruk What speakers do you use? Can I get a link to them on amazon?
just bought one of this and this video really helped reply with song name aswell pls :)
So I just got the mixtrack pro 1 and using intro. could you do more tutorials for transitions please. I am confused on others when having it cued at the "first beat of the track". Seems off when I bring it in

Can you use the serato software on a lower screen resolution laptop? (Netbook notebook etc)
Anyone know a in-depth video for tutorial on different ways or techniques to transition between decks?
Can I plug my logitech speakers(2 small,1 subwoofer) in the mixer? They only have regular green 3.5mm plug that goes in the back of the PC case.
Luka Šišara you can get a 1/4 in jack to fit your mixer, that’s what I did for my Logitech computer speakers.
no need for jack when you can select your computer sound card in software options
can you use NUMARK MIXTRACK PRO 3 on virtual dj?
thx for the help. btw what speakers r u using
DJ PowerDRL Hi there, we were using some little PC speakers just to monitor. We recorded the sound directly on the laptop.
Thanks
One thing i noticed don't have individual gain knob for each deck. How you guys deal with that?
Good point. I used to use gain on the ol' Technics decks when getting the pitch set correct. Been looking at a set of digital decks but really could use some gain for each channel.
Please, don't tell me to use auto gain or sync either.
Do you have to pay to use the mixer with serato?
any usb port works good or need one with power ?
Thanks this is a big help but the video length is 9 mins

Hi there, I'm wondering if your laptop is not powerful enough. I had a similar problem, just have to use my work laptop these days...
what software you are using?
It's Serato DJ Intro, it comes with the Mixtrack Pro 3 so you can dive right into DJing straight out of the box.
Hey whats crackin man....so can you just take some mp3s from your windows media player and put them in Serato?
+JLjesuslovesyou yep
how can i record a set to the laptop? there is only one output on back which i`m using to conect the speakers.
+sadamatt As yes, there's no recording function built into Serato DJ intro, but you this article might help you - support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202304744-Recording-your-mix-with-Audacity. Our you could record the audio signal from your master output on the back using an audio interface.
how do you use the echo effect on this unit?
Could you please tell me what the red and black audio cables are?
Hi Harry, they are the main phono outputs. There are also USB connection, headphone jack with 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch connections.
+GUITARGUITAR Thanks man, what wires would i need to buy?
It comes with a A to B USB cable for connecting to computers, laptops etc. You'd need a pair of powered speakers that should have the connections you need to plug in at the back.
Besides that, a pair of headphones with either jack input at the Mixtrack Pro 3 caters for both.
"The DJ's job is very important..", Wow that is an overstatement.
