Koreans love side dishes just like a Thali . They can't have just some gravy and rice only. Kimchi goes with everything they eat, you would never see a dish without kimchi being served along with it. Also, their food is mostly all broth based dishes like soup and then rice or noodles + all these other 10-20 side dishes lol.
