It must be soul crushing to the kids who love cars and finally have an enthusiast car to show up to car meets in order to make friends and talk about cars only to be turned away or made fun of because of their car or because they don't know everything about cars.
Bro if a v6 mustang of any generation showed up at my school car guys would treat it like a Shelby gt500 In my country there are very few dealers with any muscle/pony cars and there aren't any old used muscle cars anywhere
I honestly liked when people hated on my v6 Camaro bc like you said it was never a dude driving a SS or a GT saying that, those dudes were usually cool. It was always the dudes driving their mom’s Sentra lol
I'm a Camaro girl. But guys who have the v6 99% of the time end up trading for a v8. Based upon my observations it's usually because of what another guy said about their v6. I honestly don't care whether you have a v6 or a v8. But I will say some v8 guys definitely have a sense of entitlement or cockiness about them that I find highly unattractive.
I run my university's motorcycle club and we accept everyone no matter their riding style or bike they own. The bike community is wayyyyy more close knit
Yes bro, Even tho im a new rider and started on a 400cc, the bike community didnt care and encouraged me to track my 400 and sharpen my skills. Unlike car community which gave me slack for my v6 even if I am boosting my v6 lol
My college car club was excellent. Half the people had base impressa's or gti's and nobody judged you based off what you drive. I have a scion tc and I'm generally not instantly popular because it's not a cool car. But as soon as I pulled up everyone came up to me and was super inviting and had something nice to say.
The first cars and coffee I went to, all the VW Golfs scattered around the parking lot, including mine lol. There was also a cabriolet, a new R, and a Mk2. A tuned Eos parked next to me and that guy was cool. I like VW fans even though we didn't group up haha.
@@fastcoolness Low powered FWD ones (non-turbo 4 bangers for example) can be mind-blowingly slow which leads to them just being boring on the exception that they have other redeeming qualities like a luxurious interior or good handling. But something like a Ford Crown Victoria or Chrysler 300 with a V8 and RWD can be all right.
Truck guys are by far the worse, I remember parking my car at a meet once and these bastards threatened to tow it and break it if I didn't move. I told em to piss off
Its sad most people think the 3.7 mustangs still make 200 hp LOL. When its comparable to a 3V. Im glad I left a few toxic car clubs that gave me slack for buying a v6 haha
All I had in college was a 90s something E-350 and it wasn’t even my van.. I rather focus on getting a house first then get the nice car afterwards. I’m actually set to get my first house in a couple months after saving for years and living with my mom. I’m going try my damndest to get that hellcat I’ve always wanted next
Such fax, the sport bike community is so accepting to new riders. It’s such a wholesome and fun community to be a part of. Nobody really cares what you ride, as long as you wear gear
Just did my first car meet yesterday and it was the best experience I ever had it usually depends on what country you’re doing the meet people pull up in golfs in Ireland and no one talks crap here please don’t tell anyone to leave the car community because you’re Experience was bad it doesn’t mean everyone else will
Perhaps I should be fortunate that I never owned a car when I was in college. I either walked or rode a bike. I'm a little older older now and as I get old, I somehow start to appreciate the lower end models of certain cars. Sure, they may not be as powerful as the top-end stuff, but the last time I checked, I live nowhere near the Autobahn and speed limits are still a thing. I also purchased a new Civic last January. It's a bit like a pretend-sportscar -- somewhat riced from the factory and about 60% of the power of a Type R. Is my car a Type R or Si? Nope, but if I put in the money to mod and tune it a bit, it might come close to the performance of a bone-stock Type R at the cost of reliability and longetivity. For now, the car lets me do my job as a delivery driver while still being somewhat fun to drive. Plus there are just so many things I can do to "rice" it out without doing drastic things to the engine -- basically, giving it some individuality and making it stand out of the thousands of Civics out there. Horsepower isn't the only thing that makes a car fun. In a neighborhood that I constantly deliver to, apparently having the loudest sound system is a bigger flex than having a bigger engine or more horses.
I’m in community college but will be heading to university next year away from home, and I’ll be looking to at least make a couple of friends while im out there, but I have established good relationships and friendships with a good little car group in my town and we hang out regularly and I’ll miss that when I leave, but will try to visit them still
I wasn't even allowed to buy a car until I graduated. Then I bought a six year old 1964 Chevy Belair from my Nana. Then I saved every penny and saved enough to buy a Mustang II.
Gee, a Chevy Bel Air as a first car is pretty cool. Sure they are slow compared to modern cars but nothing beats old-school cars when it comes to styling.
@@private6549 thanks, that's kind of you to say. I really wish that I'd taken a picture of it. My Nana wanted to to have a good reliable car. It only had 30,000 miles when she sold it to me in 1970. It served me well and I was able to buy it outright for $300. That allowed me to save for my second car which was a new 1974 Mustang II Ghia with 4 on the floor and a sunroof.
I had a used 2004 Corvette C5 when I was 19 (owned until I was 24). V8 fun and everything, but it was an automatic lol. 75% of people were like "aww that sucks" lol. Car culture is so demanding. I Didn't care. It was fast, looked good, and was reliable until recently. I had to sell it to my neighbor after finally getting tired of it. My next car had to be a manual - not because of what people think, but because manuals are so fun! I've always obsessed over driving one. Ended up with a VW Golf GTI manual. Words can't describe how fun something is even smaller than a V6. Enjoy that V6 and take care of it. You have a nicer car than most people have.
