    "was I close?"
    "yes"
    Loved it !
    Also, that V7 is just mean, the angle of the dyno hold is basically meant to faceplant you or whip you back into the wall... Not a fun problem lol.

      LOL i'd wager that i was pretty dang close.... but yeah, not into the idea of jumping backwards :~)

    3:00 super useful technique, i find myself doing it on slabs a lot. your two arms form a 'support beam' when doing this. it weird but works because it takes some of the weight of your upper body which is too far to the left of your foot, and kind of redirects it to the right of your foot, making your weight more balanced over that foot and easier to push down on it. I didnt realize thats how it worked till i watched this video and my engineering degree coming back to me.

    I find myself cheering for you when you get a difficult move down like I would with my other climbing friends at the gym 💓 and I'm glad I'm not the only one afraid of running starts!! They're so intimidating and I feel like I'm gonna run into the wall face first every time ;_;

      ahaha that music transition isn't the smoothest!! i actually ran into some copyright issues with the original version of this video, so re-editing it with non-copyrighted songs was sort of a challenge. and thanks! i try to go static whenever possible :~)

    Very nice short video. I have to say though that these climbs look too easy for you, it’d be great to see you set a project for a bit longer. Thanks Jen see you next time
    Oh and p.s the reason that putting your hand on your knee helped you squat is because it creates tension in your core!

    Another lovely video. Watching this with my coffee, attempting to rest hard after bouldering for 5hrs yesterday for the forth time this week :D
    Your hack is amazing. I would love to see the routesetters face ^^
    That blue v7 ist just meant to hurt yourself. Either faceplanting the mat and twisting a wrist or stabbing yourself with a hold like shown. Damn. Have a lovely weekend. Jen (psychopueppi)

    I have enough to worry about, with overhangs- outside of toe, to get opposite hand and foot, hips not squared to the wall, tension between feet and upper body, etc. I just can't do much dynamics, but it feels like it's another level that I will get to. Just like you, I run to get something and run back! Good climb, Jenn.

    • @JenniferLangen
      @JenniferLangen 5 років тому

      Lorax Tribe i totally get the feeling of overthinking everything! a lot of people say that to be good at dynos, you have to turn that part of your brain off and just go for it. maybe one day!

    • @Lorax_Tribe
      @Lorax_Tribe 5 років тому

      @@JenniferLangen You're right, and it all just needs to settle into the unconscious before I will get it. I do jump with one hand on a hold, but I don't think that counts. At Halloween, I will be climbing one year, solid, and have had so much fun the whole time.

    • @JenniferLangen
      @JenniferLangen 5 років тому

  • @KruXol
    @KruXol 5 років тому

    You seem to not really be able to let go both your hands when you were trying that last dyno.
    Important thing for dynos is to not immediately try to do it in the first go. Try jumping towards the hold but intend to not grab it or only touch it. The better it feels then the closer you can go and try it. So maybe start out on another dyno or any kind of climb thats at least a bit overhanging to let go both of your hands and jump to get a safer feeling for that first and increase the difficulty each time instead of everything at once.
    I really liked the way you did that pink one statically. Looked a lot more skin friendly.
    Keep your sweet and warm spirit it always gives me a good feeling when watching you

    Great video....are you still using the soill shoes? If so, which ones....I wanna try them but I don’t know much about them and I do more lead climbing and too roping than bouldering (though I really want to get into bouldering), but basically trying to pick a good everything shoe or maybe a pair for each...right now I have the la Sportiva finale and it’s decent but not good for small holds or hooking or bouldering....anyway, Love your videos and keep trying those dynos😃✌🏽(oh and you have the best music in your videos😎)

    • @JenniferLangen
      @JenniferLangen 5 років тому +1

      hey thanks so much!! i'm actually not wearing the soill shoes anymore, they didn't have the right fit for my feet! i haven't tried the finales, but i would recommend seeing if you can try the soill shoes at a local REI or something, just to make sure they fit your heel! mine would always pop out of my shoes. i'm wearing the la sportiva solutions here, which i love, though they're a little pricey and a little aggressive! i recommend them for bouldering if you're used to the feeling of a downturned shoe :-)

      Jenn Sends Sweet, thanks Jenn...I recently also got a pair of Scarpa instinct VS and wow, talk about painful!!! Lol....They’re a really aggressive shoe with a break in period of a few weeks (so I’ve been told), so my feet have literally been in agony but I’m going to try to push through for another couple of weeks (got them last week and climbed in them a couple of times) and see how/if they break in. If not then I’ll be back to the drawing board and might try the lower volume instinct VSR. Anyhow, thanks so much for replying, best of luck with climbing and your channel and ummmmmm, happy bouldering (not good at closing out conversations, lol). Oh and I might start trying to film more at our gym (super nervy and feels weird plus I’m not sure they’d be cool with me filming), but maybe so we’ll see. But sorry for rambling and thanks again ✌🏽

    • @JenniferLangen

      Nicky Woodward Bouldering ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ for what it’s worth, the routesetter who set this puts up some of my favorite routes. creative stuff, she’s a crusher. but yeah, the routesetters in my gym day that whatever they set on the slab turns out way easier than they intend

    • @stephantom8237
      @stephantom8237 5 років тому

      Idk, I'd say it's just an alternative beta for shorter people, which is still very difficult. I watched a lot of good climbers fail at the static method. And if you can't actually reach the bottom of the big pink volume at all when you're stood up on that first handhold (I tried and couldn't) it gets even harder.
