I bet you took that picture near Exit 22, east of Reno, Nevada. There is an entire roadside geology like this that just amazes me in how this was accomplished ....
Sooo clear ! I learn a lot from you! I love geology, as a tour guide always it gives me more details to show in patagonia. thanks! One question please, is it posible that a river can change a landscape of the ignimbrite rock millions years ago?
Happy to help explain, but not sure I understand the question. Yes, rivers can alter landscape -- all throughout Earth's history. And if the landscape involves an ignimbrite rock, then that the river can erode the rock. Also, the ignimbrite initial eruption and flow can be altered by the river. :)
@@EarthRocks This is exactly what i wanted to know. I live in Puerto Deseado, the estyuary. Macizo deseado. you are really great explainning all geology. i am a big fan, do you mind if i keep asking? big kiss from patagonia
I am confused... As anticline and syncline terms are used only if the direction of younging is known.. Instead of these terms we can use antiform and synform for general explanation
One is caused by brittle deformation, and the other plastic deformation. Those two types of deformation happen under different conditions (as noted in the video). What are those conditions and are they mutually exclusive?
@@EarthRocks Shhh, don't let them know. Also, that image was some sort of glitch that happened in a corrupt image on my phone a few years ago. I didn't even have to modify it, which makes it even more beautiful.

So happy you have been making or posting new videos, they're very interesting.
Thank you. Happens when I have a new class to switch over to videos. :)

•Is it possible for faults to cause folds or folds to cause faults? Explain.

You know that there is some serious dedication when someone holds a skewer with both their hands for three days straight!
Indeed. Lovely image. :) (I actually left it bent inside a mixing bowl but didn't have the time to find a way say that.) ;)
