- The poor little squirrel who was lying, completely immobile, in the leaves outside the camper. Once inside, and getting warmed up in a box, she began to show signs of life, but it's going to be a tough road ahead for her. I'm Brian, the one who found her and brought her inside. People that demonstrate compassion for animals possess a pure and kind heart.
i agree and would add that this is not the same as people who just like their dog. This is on a different level.

Definitely. Thank you to these compassionate ppl whoever they are for taking care of that tiny squirrel in need. I'm sure the squirrel appreciates it in her own way.
@Big E I think it's not the people per se that you can't stand. I think it's more like their society-molded/ triggered actions that kind of gets in the way. I'm the same, though. I honestly despise a lot of things that ppl do or say these days, and their annoyingly judgmental demeanor, yet often find myself trying to help those folks in need even knowing that I will prob not be appreciated in the end, or that they would probably not do the same for me were the roles reversed.
@Big E Yep, exactly. Anything you say or do will be perceived in contempt by someone on the planet - either reasonably misinterpreted or completely evilized - even if you did not intend to offend anyone. I often find myself thinking like... will this offend anyone or get totally misjudged by someone deeply submerged in an oversensitive state of mind if I say it? If the answer is it could, I prefer to just not say anything at all just to avoid the nonsense argument that for sure will follow. Still though, even being so careful, I often get some sore loser to complain about things I say. People by nature will completely try to change the interpretation of what you say. That is where the difference is obvious. Animals will never do this. If they could... oh boy, we'd be in trouble! Lol
This made me cry when I saw her little front paws when she got all curled up at the end. I hope she is not in pain. You saved her as she would not of done well outside alone. She felt warmth and love because of you. Thankyou.💙

Please read about blaise pascalls "bet" in e,g, wikipedia. also, people like you want to appear superior but in reality, You only follow the lead sheep and havent actualy invested any brain and time in the topic of religion e.g. read the books and come to a conclusion and thus arent intellectual at all. My step sister rescued a baby squirrel, kept it in a little cage. Thought she would have a sweet little release. The thing bit her like 4 times ran down her leg and up a tree. My sister(step-sister), "mean ole squirrel". Real story, no joke.
Is she safe now? Is she alive? Please keep us with the update on this little innocent squirrel
Thanks for taking care of her. A lot of people have no respect for squirrels, but I feel they have as much right to be here as we do.
I took care of 2 baby squirrels that were orphaned because of an a- hole neighbor that shot their parents. I told the kid's parents..that's my pecan tree and my squirrels...your kids shoot anymore on my side, we are going to have problems. I bottle fed them for 3 weeks an then gave them crushed pecans..Man they grew quick..jumping all around..they were ready to be set loose..though they may be classified as a rodent..these two never left my property.
I kinda consider them pets..they will at times,,run around and climb on me and sit on my shoulder waiting for a nice Stewart soft shell pecan..that's my trees. Awesome little animals.

Sworn Royal Just about anyone that lives in the real world. They may be cute, sure, but they can be a real hassle to farmers. Rodents are hated not because of what they are, but what they do. Just rats with fluffy tails.
Because you live in the suburbs and think nature is the garden of eden, I'd be willing to bet you also think mankind is not part of nature. Don't get me wrong, if you're shooting suburban squirrels you're probably an asshole, but at the same time, I dont think it's helpful to ignore the damage they can cause to a home or farm just because they're cute. Sometimes shooting a squirrel is what needs to be done.

You make my heart "squeeze" with emotion for trying to help this innocent young squirrel... People who LOVE animals so much that they go out of their way to help a wild animal in need (or ANY animal) are TRUE HEROES in my eyes...God Bless you for your kind & tender hearts...
I just didn't know...I really just didn't know, but after spending a considerable amount of time at your blog, now I do know, & I wish I could reach out & give you a BIG friendly HUG...I've had a Lifelong PASSION for Nature & ALL Animals...
I take care of the squirrels around here, they and pretty much all the animals come here to eat and get water. They are so precious!

Trakehner20 I actually live in an apartment but, there are huge pine trees. If I open my door and make a clicking sound, they come from every where!! There is about 20 squirrels, about 12 stellar jays and 7 or so crows, 2 thrushes and more than a dozen finches. I was afraid the crows would run off the others but, they don't. They actually wait for the others to eat. I have stepped out on my patio and the trees come alive! It costs a bit but, the joy I get from them is worth it. I buy suet, seed and nuts, big bags! I have been trying to think of a way to keep them warm, my husband smiles at that. So much joy. The squirrels have even come inside in the summer. I leave the screen cracked and the nuts right by the door, they come in and get food and then go. I was snoozing once and opened my eyes to see one no more than a foot away.

My husband brought in a little chipmunk he had found by the woodpile. It was cold and stiff...looked a bit beat up, probably from another chipmunk. I put it in a covered aquarium with leaves and moss from outside (familiar smells)....and a hamster ball stuffed with moss that was just the right size for it to curl up in...which it happily did. I left in some water and bird seed and we just left it alone. After awhile it came out for water and food....we kept it for a day or two then let it go in the stone wall out back. That was the second chipmunk my husband brought home....lol....the last one before that came home in his front shirt pocket..drenched and half drowned. That one we stuffed in a warm sock and left it in the yard in an open box. After about 15 minutes we watched it jump out of the box and into the stone wall. Gotta love the little buggers....even though they dig up my gardens :-)

I love this ladys warm compassion for Gods living creatures.My Wife&I have rescued MANY...I bottle fed a little kitty a few yrs ago and found him a good home.
He thought I was his mother...😊..
The lady sent us pictures he was maybe 8 weeks when we let him go...I missed that bonding we had a LOT...
I hope this little Squirrels gets better. Its good that we take the time to help Gods little creatures when they are in need.

Last year, someone I know shot 30 squirrels. Thank you for taking care of this one. I really don't like to see them suffer.
The most satisfying interaction in my life with an animal was with a female squirrel just like this one. She was pink with no hair eye not open when i found her all chewed up and scabby. She lived to be 13 years old. I miss you Dizzy.

It's odd how little people really know about squirrels but they'll say just about anything to give you the impression they do know something important about those cute babies.

I have had Pet squirrels for almost 25years now all of them were " rescue squirrels or babys that imprinted on me.
It's actually against the law to keep a squirrel as a pet, but an injured squirrel is a different story altogether, it's an obligation as far as I'm concerned. Squirrels live on average 3yrs in the wild, but in captivity they can live as long as 20yrs.
They should be fed a very varied diet of fruits, veggies, whole grain, and of course nuts are a favorite ,but no salted cuts
They make wonderful pets and will treat you as a " best" friend and as a tree, usually perching on your shoulders or even your head! I love squirrels. They must chew constantly or you will have issue's with their teeth over growing.

I love squirrels. I have had reds, grays, and Fox squirrels. They are cute and cuddly but can give you one he'll of a bite if they don't know you or are scared so be careful. I just love these little guys thay62186@gmail.com

Just so precious, We have an 8 month old, He still comes in our house every Day, He Has A girlfriend now, there so fun to watch, He's been in our woods from our home about a month or so, There so Loving and SWEET!!

I like these little beings. I made friends with them as a kid, but I also did with small birds (Paurus Major) in Sweden, and I tamed both these and the birds, so it was busy days for me being friendly with the both.

she's a beautiful squirrel and i am happy that you two saved her from freezing to death. it made me wish i can turn back time and saved this black squirrel that was laying on the grass by a wooden pool that was having a heat stroke or something like that because it was a very hot summer. if i had the chance and if that happened again i would have taken a bottle of water and gently give it to the squirrel and find something to safely take it home with so i can treat it. i see all animals should be treated fair and with respect and not below us, even if some are classified as "rodents"
