Tried my first Ojai Pixie last summer. Unfortunately it was end of season crop and had been stored for over a month. Two different batches, was hit and miss. I really want to try a fresh one this year.

Gold nugget aka Sunkist Lumpy Bumpy is the best mandarin I have found. I still have not seen a TDE. Have you tried the Shasta Gold (TDE2) or Tahoe Gold (TDE3) and Yosemite Gold (TDE4) ?

The one he is eating is Shasta Gold. I have all three TDE trees. Shasta is delicious, probably top 3 citrus. i tried Tahoe from Friend's Ranches in Ojai and they are exceptional.

@@randomguy2246 I'm 4 miles from Disneyland in Orange County. I have the seedless Kishu, Gold Nugget, and Tango, plus a Pixie in a pot still. What do you think is the best seedless mandarin, what does TD stand for? Is there a difference between Shasta Gold and Tahoe/Shasta? Can I grow the Tahoe Shasta in Orange County (not a lot of cold in the winter)?

TDE stands for Temple(tangor) Dancy(mandarin) Encore (Mandarin) . Shasta/Yosemite/Tahoe are all related and similar in taste. I have all three trees in the ground but have only tasted Shasta from my own tree(the oldest of the three). i have eaten Tahoe from friends ranches in Ojai. i have never had Yosemite but i know people say that Yosemite is excellent. Shasta is exceptional, with a unique pineapple orange fruit flavor. Tahoe is very similar with fruit being very sweet and super juicy. If i were you i would add one of these trees to your collection. Four winds growers currently has tahoe and yosemite. shasta is sold out. I'm in west covina, so not too far from you
