Game 4 kings really did dominate. But was it more of the oilers weathering the storm, and absorbing hits? What ever the case Oilers went to LA and gave up 1 goal in 2 games, and have put themselves 1 win away from moving to the next round.
I said it before, and I will say it again. I can describe the Kings team in one word. INCONSISTENT!

I’m an Oilers fan and after game 2 I expected Skinner chants from the start of the game!
Talbot doesn't make the biggest saves ,but he keeps us in most games. But Doughty and Anderson giving the puck away ,leaving Talbot all alone you can't blame him for that. We have the worst special teams in the playoffs by far, that's what kills this team..
If you can't handle a two player team with a below average goalie, you don't deserve to be in playoffs

Rob Blake has not built a solid team like Dean Lombardi did. It's seems just like a bunch of random players thrown together with little thought as to how they can work together.
Blake hasn’t shown much ability to sign offensive talent. Not enough consideration for consistency favoring instead the look of elite skill.

Talbot can still come in in game 5 if needed and he will be rested and focused.

Lewis a Lizotte are getting cooked on the PK might as well have the fourth line be Thomas turcote and Arthur for some offense! Rittich has to start next game if he’s bad can always go back to talbot

Oilers have a long history of annihilating Rittich. He is unironically one of their fans' favorite goalie for how well they do against him.

PLD is and will continue to be a total stiff and he will be the nail in Blake’s coffin and should be !! Horrific trade and even worse signing!!!! Worst deal made in the NHL in 2023-2024. Pull out a victory game 4
Hiller won't do it until after we lose game 4 which will be too late. I don't like that the TOI is so unevenly distributed amongst the players. This coaching philosophy is so outdated and damaging to any team and, it has to go. You end up overworking your top dogs and killing the confidence of the lower six. No player should get more than 20 minutes/game and no player should get less than 10. 10 minutes equals 20 shifts that will keep you sharp both mentally and physically, and so on.
Why to have 4 lines if you end up playing mostly three is beyond me.
DD is slow not because of his age but because he is played half the game. Anyone who understands the demands of full 35 seconds shifts played at 100 percent will agree with me.

Remember Kings attempted to trade Talbot but were denied. Cam has made some great saves! But allowing 6 goals is unacceptable and i refuse to blame just the defense this time. The whole team played like crap in game 3. But Talbot still allowed 6 goals.

Agree on all but one Englund is not the best defenseman we have but he is good enough because of his physical play and Fighting skills! Roy Ehhh but Gavrikov has declined drastically specially on the PK
All but the 1-3-1 as well as Englund and/or Roy... RV came back from a major injury...but I still think he's expendable...

It’s not even about being over critical of Talbot, but more so, why not give Dave a look
the problem with not calling penalties in the playoffs is that the same teams play each other for the entire series. If the game is close, the refs WILL generally let minor infractions go uncalled because they don't want to influence the result of the game. However, in a game like this where it's 4-1 in the 3rd and the Kings have nothing going and zero momentum, those penalties should definitely be called. If not, it leads to the losing team trying to injure the opposing players to gain an advantage in future games. The headshot on Kane was a clear example of this.

Oilers fan here, not here to gloat. After scoring early and shutting down the first two power plays, the Kings began to lose their composure and focus. For this game anyway, for the most part, Edmonton kept their cool (there were a couple exceptions) and were able to finish off the Kings. It's a long series and ain't over yet. See you in Game 4!

Lose games. They have not lost they have gotten smoked off the ice. Reality is skill and talent will be structure and system. Can't justify continuing to start a goalie with a gaa of 5.00. Not happening.
So sick of seeing Lewis take up a roster spot. The guy offers nothing, zero offense and zero defense/pk. Play the kids, bring in Clarke to ignite the PP cause nothing is working on the PP.
As an Oiler fan, Lewis is one of the few players that has been noticeable for the Kings. Kempe and Byfield are studs for sure. Doughty would always have a place on my team, though his contract is a bit rich.

You kings know that talbot was the goalie for the oilers for a few years . So yah I think we know how to pick him apart. But look at the bright side L.A did win the cup in 2013 I think while we haven't won since 1990
Most of us are long time Kings fans and Hockey fans, but some just don't get it. The Kings are a solid team up and down, Stanley Cup contenders ... except for one key position - Goaltender. You can't let in 6 GPG and expect your team to advance. If Talbot was playing junior Hockey - he would get scored on. When it comes to playoff Hockey, he would need to go up 3 notches to get to the level of mediocre. TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE OR MAKE VACATION PLANS.

The 1st goal .... Hyman was alone for like 30 seconds and could have taken all day by himself leaving guys in front no concern with getting back on defense is pathetic lol. I very much disagree with your take, this is what I saw.
Kings got dominated in the first. The 1-3-1 was totally figured out. The Oilers out played us in nearly every conceivable way for the first 20 minutes.
The second, the Kings seemed to abandon the 1-3-1, it became way more of a dog fight. That period ended up being a 1-1 affair, much better.
The first four minutes of the third, the Kings flat out looked the best they have all series. They completely abandoned the 1-3-1, controlled the puck almost the entire time, and every line generated at least one high danger chance. We were looking like the team that went on that winning streak. We looked faster, sharper, and overall better.
Then the refs decided to call the most baffling 5on3 I've ever seen. That wasn't a penalty, Evander Kane flopped like Vlade Divac. Even if it was how do they throw 3 kings and 3 oilers in the penalty box..... then just start a 5on3 without announcing the penalties or anything? I've never seen anything like that in all my years watching professional sports.
Then they gave them another 5on3 and all was lost.
Half of their expected goals scored came after the bizarre referee calls.
If the Kings from the second period and first part of the third show up, and the referees don't pull that kind of craziness again, then kings take this in 6 easy.

My perspective as an Oiler fan... With regards to the Kane hit and the subsequent 5 on 3 I thought that England got his head a bit but not an egregious hit to the head. I thought it was a 2 minute penalty for the hit and if the scrums evened out and the only extra penalty was for the hit resulting in a 5 on 4 I would have been okay with that. I was not down in the middle of that scrum so I have no idea what Kopitar did to earn a misconduct on top of everything to cause the 5 on 3 but it was not obvious what happened based on what was visible on TV. The Kings didn't play much of a 1-3-1 in game one and still got outplayed so I am not sure the defensive scheme was the reason they lost. If anything, the biggest reason they lost game 1 and game 3 is because they are outplayed so badly on special teams.
The hit by Engelland was penalty all day long, saying it was a flop is the stupidest thing I've seen in a while. The Kings straight up unravelled and got running around trying to draw blood. The slew foot on Kane, the hit from behind on McDavid as a couple examples. The Kings looking good for the start of period 3 was likely more a case of the Oilers just turtling and trying to not allow too much more than the Kings being dominant.

They played it the entire first period and the Oilers scored 2/3 goals because of it. Because no King player was threatening them deep after a dump, all 5 Oiler players would gather speed entering the zone, and they'd get set up for sustained offensive pressure. It's honestly a master class on how to beat a 1-3-1, and any coach that goes up against this system in the future should use the 1st period of this game as an example. Absolutely beautiful gameplan by the Oilers and their coach to bust it.
As far as the Kane hit, I would've understood a 5 minute major, even if I disagree. I thought it should've been just a single 2 minute minor.
No matter what though, and specially in the playoffs, there is no excuse to just start a 5 on 3 without announcing anything. I was at the game, my company has a box at staples. They put 3 players in the box from each team, then dropped the puck 5on3 without announcing a single penalty on anyone. That's suspicious. I've probably been to 500+ NHL games in my life, and never seen anything like it. I honestly don't think I've seen that in peewee hockey.

Mate, there are forums for having a go at each other, and this doesn't seem to be one of them. We allowed four goals against Game 1 and spent Game 2 mostly skating around looking like we didn't know where the light switch was. We've had one solid outing out of three, so I wouldn't be rubbing anyone's nose it if I were you.
