Hi mam this is supreetha, i like the way u teach the paintings, mam i have a doubt that y u use thin lining cloth wt is its usage? And wt sort of board and sheet to be used for big size art? Because when i attended 1 workshop of mysore painting, they tought us to put ivory sheet on mdf board so, and when i watched your video u told hardboard for big work y is that so? Cant we use mdf boards for big works?

Is it not advisable to stick the paper directly on the board?
Hi Magals,
Normal lining cloth is fine, but make sure the cloth is not thin.
It is not advisable to stick the paper directly to avoid wrinkles after sticking.
Further lining cloth absorbs water and protects the paper.

You may use Hashwat, cartridge or Acid free sheet for the Mysore Painting.
Cartridge paper is most economical and easy to find.

The dimension of the board is 9*7 ½ inch. After a double mount frame the final dimension would be 13*11 ½.

Mysore painting requires smooth and delicate finish, that is not possible on Canvas.
Typically Canvas are used in Acrylic and Oil painting 🎨

I suggest you use an MDF board if the size of the desired painting is less than 12 inches.
If it is more than 12inches go for plywood which is waterproof and ISI certified.
