Unfortunately he brings it all on himself by acting the pantomime baddie. All the grimacing, posturing, shouting, taunting the crowd. This has shown he’s a decent guy but I have to admit I love seeing him getting beat because of his on oche antics.
About 9 years ago we saw van gerwin after the premier League out in a wetherspoons and he bought the entire bar a round, so I think he's not lying about him being generous.
I’m Welsh so never had an issue with Gerwyn but it is reassuring to hear so many people on here admit that Gerwyn is good for the game of Darts. Darts needs atmosphere and Gerwyn always gets the crowd going one way or another.
Price is world class, so much respect for him. On stage it's all about what you can bring and he brings it. Period. As a Dutchman I'd like to see MVG back at nr 1 but the top 4/5 players are all very good. I enjoy that quality darts.
I played van gerwen once at an exhibition.. he thrown a 180 first three darts, flipped the scores banged in another 180 in.. left 170 on purpose by hitting a 41 and checked it out 🤣 I'll upload it on here.. he was sound as out! He then played my mate and he was left on double 7 chucked 2 darts out of the board had a bet with him for four pints if he hit it with the last dart pinged it right in the middle 🤣 he made sure he got his 4 pints.. later on that night he seen us after he was done with his exhibition and invited us back stage where he just got us pissed out of our heads and give us a signed shirt! Ever since that night my thoughts of him changed and thought what a top guy.. he was with Vincent van da voort.. both class acts!
I would've never thought that Price was such a chill and lovely bloke! I knew he put on the provocative persona when he was in a match. But I didn't think he would be so humble and nice. Fair play.

Me and a few mates bumped into Chizzy and his wife in a bar in Manchester in December and he was a bloody great lad, had full conversations with us and just didn't have any slight ego at all

@@wvtte6549 that’s a funny image, crowd booing a Tesco worker 😂 but in all serious darts players shouldn’t get booed because it’s not like a whole football team of 24 people including the coaches and bench, these are individuals who play wonderful darts and are actually really nice guys most of the time

My mate was at a tournament and saw MVG outside the players entrance. He went over and asked for an autograph. MVG reply was ‘fuck off, can’t you see I’m having a smoke’

Bingo! I play my game pretty similar to Gezzy and therefore can relate because I also have people dislike me for it. DON’T JUDGE THE PLAYER ON THE OCHE, GET TO KNOW THE PERSON OFF IT. The oche is a battlefield just like any other sports field. You’re not the person you normally are in the heat of the battle and you have a job to do.
I don't get the hate i love gezzy, one of the worlds best who shows his true emotions on the oche. What do people want, boring players with no character wow that would be exciting.
It's a shame that Gezzy gets booed the way he does, because every dart player that plays against him always say he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
