Nice video! Keep posting. You know I rarely see anyone wade on the south side of (Port Mansfield) The county put up a kayak launch on its south most side. One day A fan boat decided to launch from this spot and quickly found out that they are able to do so even though it's extremely shallow. Nonetheless, a few months later they took it upon themselves to post a sign that states no waders allowed south of that sign. The Laguna Madre is public. Some Local city officials decided to take ownership of the bay! They cannot do this. Most likely someone with a little cash bribed them or their buddies with the local leaders. So I tell anyone that I see wanting to wade in that area to fish if they please and if they have any issues to call the game warden. State laws supersede any local ordinances. Tight lines my friend and to everyone fishing Port Mansfield.
Hey thanks Brotha! and thanks for the info, and yes I did notice that sign when it was up but I think they took it down. I used to wade fish the South side of port a lot until they built that boat ramp, lots of fan boat traffic and can be a little dangerous early morning but gonna have to give it another try one of these days.👍🙏🏻
Good trip. I also went to PM a few weeks ago and solid trout in that area. I would recommend to build some torpedo tubes for your rod holders so the rods sit higher up and not get splashed by the waves. PVC rod holder extensions is also what they are called.
Catch clean and cook's that's what a lot of people myself also like to watch if you eat them we know you cooking up some good recipes so show your audience u wish get more likes and subscriptions
@@izzyssaltlife do you have a cast net, I’m asking because usually around the harbor you can find good size finger mullet and piggy perch, usually around those small piers where they fillet fish.
@@southwaterslayer yes i do and i have tried in those areas but had no luck. Once in a while i do get a mullet that jumps into the kayak. Trip before this last one i had about a 10 inch mullet jump in ! lol
From Salt Strong online, they are Mustad kaiju inline single hooks. I use 1/0 for bigger Topwaters and #1 for like super spook jrs and # 2 for my soft dine and other smaller suspending twitch baits. They are only $2.49 a pack of 7 can’t beat it
I just started watching your videos and I Was wondering if you ever tried the Double D? I use it when they are not getting the topwater good enough. I feel like you’ll have some good bites on it 🤟 great stuff though! 🔥
With all respect, no sir I did not lie, like I said before at that time the limit for speckled trout was 17 to 23 inches due to the bad freeze we had that killed many of the momma trout’s. The limit recently Changed back to normal the beginning of August I believe. That’s reason why I release them to keep our fishery’s heathy.
Its braid to a SPRO power swivel then to 15 inch leader of 20 lb Trilene Big Game Monofilament tied to a Norton quick twist swivel, but I would recommend tying a loop knot instead.
I remember the Days.Way Back in the 70 before the 80 I Caught some big trout.this no Lie over 42 inches. Inches trout. No Joke. I remember those Days. WAy back then. I Injoyd fishing in Port Mansfield my fever place. My home town Live In Lyford Texas .Before 1980 I remember my Dad and my Brother we always go fishing in Port Mansfield Texas we Caught buku's a big trout and redfish down in portmansfield and some big flounder. A long time ago I remember the back in the days. Shouldn't you hit the got a trout? As soon as you hit the water again, got another trout. Should you get another one after another 1? We gotta know the trap, we hit it up. My dad, my dad's limit. My brother's limit and my limit. I scumped my brother out and my dad out that 1 day when I didn't go to school that day. I teach them a lesson that day. They told me I need to go to school. But I'll teach them a big lesson. I call all the fish daddy getting nothing. Who had to clean all the fish me that was it. That was a true story. I enjoyed fishing with my dad and my brother. My dad's been gone 25 years ago. I sure miss him. God bless my da good teacher. He knew how to catch fish. There's good Is memories way back then would never forget
Good to hear bro! My grandpa was the one who taught me how to catch these big trout, and I believe you that back then there was some true monster trout cause my grandpa would catch them all the time, but thanks for sharing 🙏
Well yes but no, at the time when I made this vid the limit was 3 per person 17-23 inches down here in lower laguna made, but the limit did change back to 5 per person 15-20 inches and you can take one over 30 inches
I use to go fishing with my grandfather when I was a kid. He would get drunk until he couldn't walk and let me drive the boat. He was also known to eat minnows for good luck and he smoked marijuana
Sounds like my uncle Man! Me my brother would go fishing with him all the time, then he’d get real drunk. We had no choice but to learn to drive at a young age just to make it back home. I was 9 my bro was 11, back then you were able to get away with these type of things 🤣
love this thank you Jesus for food ❤❤it's so much fun watching and bring home some real fresh fish
Thanks Mom Lol, and I sure will👍
Thanks for sharing the video and it's nice to see a true Christian angler willing to share a verse and his spot. GOD bless.

Hey thanks Moreno, God willing we can bump into each other again and do some wade fishing or something 🤙
@@southwaterslayer yes sir, will keep in touch for sure 🤙
I like the way you started your video. Where did you get your fish bag
Academy Sports & Outdoors, its called a fish tote bag 15 gallon made by ForeverLast
Another one question what's the measurements for speckled trout, I thought it was 15-25" u could have kept that fish unless she was over 25"
awesome videos men!
Glad you enjoyed! 🙏
Inviting the family over made me subscribe great video.
Thanks Brotha! Glad you enjoyed
Great videos. Where do you buy your single hook replacements. Every time I go to academy, they don’t have any.

I’ve actually had my eyes on that lure lately but haven’t had a chance to get it, but I hear it’s a beast of a lure, thanks for the info though 👍
@@southwaterslayer the thumps I get on that lure are 🔥😮💨 keep slaying! 🎣
I hate potlickers! I have never understood their mentality. Find your own stinkin' fish. Good video. You found the motherlode!
Glad you agree! Thanks for watching 🙏
Super video!, new to the area, where can I wade fish if I get to the piers, to the left or to the right?
Go to North side pier, the new one, then head north until you see activity in the water like bait, birds, slicks etc…
is it safe to wade fish there
@@jaimechapa7828 yes it’s safe, maybe put some kind of protective Wade boots with some Ray guards and you should be fine.
What rod and reel combo you got going on the baitcaster
6’9 Waterloo Phantom medium/ moderate fast/ Shimano Tranx 151 Hg 7.2 gear ratio
7’ H20 Express Bone Daddy Rod 70M/ Shimano Tranx 151 hg 7.2 gear ratio
Was about to say I wouldn’t even of thought about keeping it, honestly I don’t see a point keeping anything over 20
Nice bro killed it man we need to set up a date!
For sure, I’ll let you know when I’m free again
Dang bro. The fish love you. Aqua man
🤣😂😭👍
Who makes the bone diamon lure

God bless you bro in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏾 keep fishing brother
Likewise brotha, thanks for your support🙏🙏
