I recently got my first litre bike (z1000sx). My other bikes are a scooter and FZ 07... My z1000sx has the possibly of being a first bike if it is put in low power mode and the traction control is at it highest setting. However, I would NOT recommend a litre bike being a beginner under any circumstance. Too much power, acceleration, and weigh.
The sound those things make is just intoxicating. Hope you have fun fixing her up! Should polish up pretty nice! Congrats!
Piston hope you get along with your new bike and fix the brakes for your safety
