Tips for new builders(I felt like writing it, no reasons) 1. Don't actually copy the tutorials. If you can, make it on your styles! 2. Don't use the same texture or color throughout the whole map. It looks quite uninteresting. 3. Don't make ceiling 2 blocks high. It will make bot stuck even more than usual 4. Don't spam soldiers. If you will, at least add a gun for it. Soldier is one of the most annoying NPCs in build mode 5. Use links actively. Links can be pretty interesting mechanics and add spice to your map. 6. Use offsets actively, too. It can add so many details on your map. 7. Don't spam ammos, too. It will make piggy stun forever if you are making escape map. 8. Don't make maps too small or too big. If it is big, the piggy won't be able to catch ANYONE. If it is too small, player will have so little opening and most likely die.
amazing! there are even more reasons for somd of these things you listed: 1. copying tutorials can look lazy and also might not look that good since it sometimes isnt an actual map and more of just a tutorial. 2. the same texture or color makes it look outdated and like you just started building 3. 2 block high ceiling feels and looks cramped, it is like having a 2 block high room in a minecraft house! you are basically just scraping your head against the roof. 4. soldiers are the most annoying npc in bm since they are not very predictable, and might just not match with the map style. make sure to add a fair amount of soldiers in one or two parts of the map instead of filling up the entire room with them! 5. links are good to use since you can make flickering lights, custom events, and some very nice puzzles! 6. offsets are important for wall designs and floor designs, and can also add some details like a puddle on the floor in maps. 7. spamming ammo is super annoying for piggy since most of the time they cant do anything if there is tons of ammo. add a fair amount of ammo and spread it around in the map! 8. imagine being piggy in a server with 20 other people, and the map is HUGE 0-0, you are prob not gonna have fun and lose. now if you are a player in a small map it is also annoying since you have little places and times to juke piggy or just bots. make sure that your map is a nice size

its sad to see how the Community of piggy died, because of minitoon saying piggy is discontinued so many people frogot about build mode, now all we have is garbage maps with no creativity or anything. always when i host my maps it take me like at least 30m to get people who are not 7 year old and spamming "start". so sad.
i can heavily relate with the start thing, i fix up a bug to improve the quality and gameplay of my map and they get mad. some people say start right after we played a round of my map like what ;-; the new maps we have now are mostly just copy paste or old maps. like i said, the video is not meant to discourage anybody to stop building, but it is sad how most of the maps are these days

I was making a Halloween map it was supposed to be released in October 2023 but since it’s 2024 i’m still working on it I don’t use the same texture in every single part of the map. These public maps definitely need some working. Don’t get me started on the Fnaf maps.
Tbh, I agree entirely with this video. Listing why: 1. It’s either just spams of npcs or other things in some public maps 2. The maps are either boring or fun (the maps are really boring is prob the ones that use the popular ideas like WSD, Piggy Says, FNAF, or even Minigames. Not only, people even try to hide inappropriate things in their maps and pull it on public, + little kids play piggy, pressing those types of maps without knowing what they’re about to see. Even when it comes to getting kicked for the most stupidest reasons possibly, I got kicked for juking piggys in a infection map, saying “lol” when a piggy got stuck onto the door as a joke, etc. (I cant think what else). My own opinion on Piggy BM public maps: I think most of the maps are either boring possibly, it’s rare to see any good or interesting maps public. Most people go for the popular ideas nowadays, the maps get more likes then the good maps. People in BM are even sometimes toxic. That’s all so far.
You forgot certain stuff. As you said, most people that play piggy are KIDS, you know what I mean with this... Since they're kids, they cannot take criticism well, or understand how stuff like textures or links work. And for "boring maps", I blame Build Mode itself, with what we have, we can't just get "creative" and most of the times we have to follow ANYTHING that gets popular, like Piggy Says, or FNAF. We can't really do something else with what we have in Build Mode. I agree with you, but there's other things to take into consideration.
fr I made a map that took 3 days to build and it had pretty good offset walls and decent link use and I see people who made a basic bland piggy says map and people say “this is a good map” “I like ur map” while I’m putting in time and effort into my maps

good job on being the only map i actually liked! it was pretty good. i recommend using more links for choosing minigames, and maybe tweaking the fighting minigame a bit! music would also help it feel a bit more lively

The problem with piggy says is that its pretty unfair like sometimes in piggy says map the owner only makes himself piggy and gives himself power kicking anyone who kills him and sometimes they are afk or the map design could just be pretty bland with just some chairs its pretty rare to find a good piggy says map

Im doing a map and it will be public its called "Phenna's castle" and have lore, and cutscenes, and its big with lights but a bit dark, and its pretty cool the map, hope when i finish it my map gets famous

The server list is always filled to the brim with maps that have no names like 'auto save" and "slot 7 (free!)", and the rest of it is just backrooms, doors, piggy says, fnaf, and minigames. And whenever you join the maps with no name, it's just a map floating in the sky that's made up of white plastic blocks, and it's spamming ammo. Whenever you actuslly find a map that's actually a real map, it's garbage with really bright colors, and no move tool details. It's impossible to find a really good map

I think one of my best maps would be my Halloween one. It's not just about opening doors and using items but also solving riddles and eventually revealing who the killer is by the end. Some of my latest maps are really detailed and I like to combine older items with the new links. But if I had to choose my best work it would be the Tio chase i created for my temple map. Absolutely perfect. If anyone wants to play any of them just write me a comment!

There is a discrepancy between the quality of maps created by the top 4% of the community and their placement in the rankings. Despite investing significant effort into one of my maps, it did not receive the recognition it deserved.
poley was around piggy’s prime and was way more easy to get and had a longer time to get it with it being out for a month, eelektra is very recent (far from prime player count) and was only around for 2 days

A flaw almost all maps have is a bit to none offsets People don’t like basic blocks even I do this flaw sometimes but you gotta do it to make your map look nice, People don’t like fixing clippings so they just don’t use offsets which sucks the more faster you complete the map the more bad it is Spamming npcs: TO MANY NPCS BRO

imma list some stuff that make me mad about server list maps: 1. Cutscene dialogue DOES NOT have grammar ever. 2. Really small tight spaces. 3. Unneeded design (especially 3:19 it looks so ugly). 4. Random spam (especially 7:38 what even is that fire and ammo spam). funnily enough i used to do these in 2020 (except cutscenes they didnt exist at the time). theres more reasons but those annoy the hell out of me on server list maps.
Bro for me it's the same thing when I'm visiting this... I don't know what to say but they kinda very sucks. It's rare to visit a really detailed map. (In a secret most hated type of maps for me is piggy says but I visit them 💀💀💀) I'm trying to build my deleted map that called "carnival remastered" I'm already got to the building the full carnival but at least it takes some days to build it. I know that no one wants to visit my maps because they are so sucks 💀💀💀

Yep, sometimes rules are RIDICULOUS. I sometimes even find something that makes NO sense. There is no such thing that is only for "owner" and "their friends".
it is fine until it ends up on the server list, the server list is meant for the best maps to be rated in a positive light to end up higher on the server list, these maps are the opposite. it is not good to see high quality maps get pushed aside in favor for maps with the same trend, and/or being just a bad quality

Today I entered a map called abandoned mansion but it wasn't even dark, it was full of decoration spam to pretend it was the "abandoned pile of objects", the map was all light

I think one of my best maps would be my Halloween one. It's not just about opening doors and using items but also solving riddles and eventually revealing who the killer is by the end. Some of my latest maps are really detailed and I like to combine older items with the new links. But if I had to choose my best work it would be the Tio chase i created for my temple map. Absolutely perfect. If anyone wants to play any of them just write me a comment!

poley was around piggy’s prime and was way more easy to get and had a longer time to get it with it being out for a month, eelektra is very recent (far from prime player count) and was only around for 2 days

People don’t like basic blocks even I do this flaw sometimes but you gotta do it to make your map look nice, People don’t like fixing clippings so they just don’t use offsets which sucks the more faster you complete the map the more bad it is

I don't know why, but the server list maps are turning better somehow, they are still bad, but almost god!
I hate that nowadays 70% of all the maps are piggy says so uncreative
imma list some stuff that make me mad about server list maps:
1. Cutscene dialogue DOES NOT have grammar ever.
2. Really small tight spaces.
3. Unneeded design (especially 3:19 it looks so ugly).
4. Random spam (especially 7:38 what even is that fire and ammo spam).
funnily enough i used to do these in 2020 (except cutscenes they didnt exist at the time).

(In a secret most hated type of maps for me is piggy says but I visit them 💀💀💀) I'm trying to build my deleted map that called "carnival remastered" I'm already got to the building the full carnival but at least it takes some days to build it. I know that no one wants to visit my maps because they are so sucks 💀💀💀

The reason theres never any good build maps on the server list is 1 they leave there map on private or 2 bad player think the good map is hard and they dislike it and they instead like trash ahh maps

Yep, sometimes rules are RIDICULOUS. I sometimes even find something that makes NO sense. There is no such thing that is only for "owner" and "their friends".
It doesn’t really matter if people didn’t put a lot thought into their builds, who cares if you put the same texture on the wall and floor
it is fine until it ends up on the server list, the server list is meant for the best maps to be rated in a positive light to end up higher on the server list, these maps are the opposite. it is not good to see high quality maps get pushed aside in favor for maps with the same trend, and/or being just a bad quality
