2nd year in a row BAC ran out of steam and had nowhere to grow. Colin writes some pretty spectacular stuff, but clearly the judges didnt reward content alone. I honestly think they were better early on in the year. What really amazes me is they seem to do the technically challenging stuff well and the basic stuff not so well. Seems to be a trend with them now. I will say, what a lot of people tend to forget is that judges arent scoring lot shows. What BAC sounded like in the lot wasnt what they sounded like on the field.
The scores are what they are, people on the field can confirm that’s the best they played. Being in McNutt lines myself, we were always better on the field than in the lot. We never rehearsed standing still let alone in an arc which is how we set up our lots. It just is what it is. In person tells a different story than lot vids as well.
did they have a lot of age outs in this group? i'm excited to see what next season holds for them after these last two
What happened? They went from 2nd in perc to 5th😭. Beating even BD most of the season then dropping near the finish line
McNutts lines always choke. I don’t get it. I’m sure they sounded as clean as ever but what happened!?
Best battery 2023 hands down
Did they win the Sanford? What did they place at Finals night since their FE is considerably more competitive this year than last
Personally think Colin did the copy paste thing with this book but it was dope. I like last years drumline writing way better
Can't believe they got 4th
Doesn’t matter this Drumline had the best book and vibes 👌It’s about the experience not the scores
@stuartarnold532 I agree, they just deserve it so much. Fan favorite two years in a row.
Yeah I’m sure they will feel it doesn’t matter in time but it’s frustrating to work so hard and not get recognized for it.
i think when commenting on how they were scored, try to remember that even though 5th on the last night hurts, they were always scored extremely close all 3 nights and the average is what gets the sanford. also, all the top 6 percussion scores were within a tenth of a point of each other, and boston came the closest to an upset with the cavaliers of any corps.
they put the work in and absolutely were noticed as a powerhouse - the finals ordinals are just so unforgiving that all it takes is a bad read in one spot to drop a program an entire placement.
knowing boston's programs, they'll be back next year even stronger.
@@EsidisiofBigBalls not sure that has anything to do with my comment but ok sure
Percussion got hosed by judging all week. Corps also had some loose moments across different performances this week… this group was innovative, exciting, and achieved some new standards for sure.
Rhythmic. Integrity.
Boston 22, 23 wins best in lot in my opinion
Borderline travesty they couldnt pull out a medal or at least place in drums
Maybe its the lack of drug culture that keeps them from getting what they earned.
BD literally had a dude losing beat on finals night. I do like that cavs won drums but this group deserves a medal
How did these guys lose? Out of all the groups they sound the cleanest. Head scratcher here!
Look at the difference from semis to finals at the caption head, you can see the difference
It’s important to keep in mind that the percussion score includes the front ensemble as well, not just the battery
@@dciaudioseems like a reoccurring issue in BAC percussion
Dirty at finals when it counted. Other top lines were more tuned in. I was sitting in Sec 138
