During the growing season we move all of our hens to fresh pasture on a daily basis as this makes for the very best eggs! Believe it or not the hens as well as their chicken house can be moved within a matter of just a few minutes. Take a look!
It's great to see a real pasture. Not always the case. Thank you for raising the bar. Very well done!
I have no problem paying the bit extra at the markets for the free range eggs. Happy to know this is the chicken lifestyle I agree with and support. Good on you guys! Those are some happy chickens :)
They LOOK and SOUND like HAPPY hens!!!! THIS is the way to do it!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
what a beautiful farm...Love it and listen those happy"ladies" talking :-) Thank you for raising hens free from cages!!

I love this! You are slow and gentle for the birds. Pasture-fed hens produce the best and most delicious eggs! The only ones to buy.
DJ and the tastiest meat :)

This reminds me of when my family first moved to Idaho. 22 hens came with our house on 2 acres. The best eggs ever!!

😂 very small for 22 hens
I saw a similar thing over 30 years ago. In this case, the guy had the coop up on high wheels with a catwalk for the birds. He was ranging them in his dairy-cow pasture. The cows were strip-grazing the pasture with a hotwire that was moved every day. The hens were placed about 3 days behind the cows. This gave the cow pies a chance to dry some and get full of fly larva. The hens scratched the cow pies to pieces and ate the larva. This also spread the manure and nutrients out and prevented the formation of non-grazed "zones of repugnance" around the pies on the cows' next trip across the pasture. I think this was happening somewhere in the eastern US, Virginia or the like on a farm that had a diverse, high integrated organic operation.
Yeah, it’s a great idea, but nothing new. Even though it seems many think so these days. The method of raising hens in mobile coops has been going on for well over a century.

I love the sounds that hens make, so sweet and melodic and peaceful, they can just put you to sleep.
Their vocalization is very sweet.
Pasture raised eggs are so worth the cost, thank you for showing us how you keep the hens and for feeding America!
I appreciate your commitment to sound organic farming techniques. Keep up the good work!
As a poultry farmer myself this is something unique and amazing, but I'm sure to get to that point is a lot of work and money
I just love watching this. Makes me happy that they are happy.

I'm so happy for them. They look happy.
That is so cool! Looks like a great way of taking care of chickens....they look & sound happy! Happy hens=lots of great quality eggs!
so nice to see, how you keep the hens in natural way of life. Thankyou
I support pasture-raised hens. Thank you so much.
Don Erskine don I was just given two dozen real free range eggs here in western Australia they taste bloody fantastic
+ soup Are you guys trying to outdo the US for dumbest shit possible? It's getting bad over there.
😮 wow! U are really a good farmer caring for the poutries' benefits .
Been doing this for decades and it's a great method. Birds get fresh vegetation and bugs to eat and the ground gets fertilized.
I am proud of you guys doing it this way

I love the way you treat your chikens!!!HAPPY CHICKENS!!!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆
Such a kind, good life for laying chickens, as opposed to those huge warehouses where they never see light of day. Thanks.

Love the natural farm life...God Bless!
thanks, I wanted to see how you moved the chicken house
Yep, those were the days, my friends, when eggs tasted and looked like eggs. Yum!
Loved watching the hens come out and graze! Wish every farm did it that way.... :-(
I love when I see that are still people who treat livestock the right way
Great👍. Do you have a video of how you gather them back into the mobile coop?
how well are the profit margins one this set up? I keep hearing there is little to know profit in laying hens
So what do you do in the non-growing season? How do you collect them? Thanks for sharing.
I could listen to happy chickens all day. What a pleasant sound.
You go boy! With that...Hoop Coop. Top shelf eggs!
Bless you all, I really want to start my chicken project hopefully soon.
Finally chickens being kept with respect
They seem so happy. I think they are. You should have treat day. Throw out 1000 crickets and some red worms. Friday is treat day.
THEY LOOK HEALTHY AND HAPPY
Great farming. You guys really care about your chicken. All animals deserve this much of respect and dignity.
Hi,
Nice idea..thank you for the video. I was wondering - as you move the coop does it not hurt the legs of the chicken at the far end and do the eggs shake ? Will that spoil the eggs?
Sweet, thanks for making this vid man. I just found your channel, I'm planning on doing something similar behind mob grazing cattle. I don't really care about the eggs very much but more about the soil heath and fly control. I'll look around and see what other vids you have. Got a like from me on this one for sure! Keep up the good work!

Did you get it going by now?

How much pasture do they need each day for the thousand birds? I would love to do this, nice one.
Lucky happy hens, this is the way they should be cared for
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you!!
Hello, my name is Carlos i just started a free range egg farm in Portugal, no one is doing it here so not mutch info... I am looking for some guidance on how i should do it!
I have a 100 birds flok right now, all together for 15days now, they came from diferent farms so they are still getting used to each other i gess!
I am only getting 30 to 40 eggs a day, is that normal? Like 40 of the hens sim to be very young, they run around from the older ones all day, and stay alone in group most of the time. So how long do they take to adapt for this new environment, and flok?
My plan is to copy must of what you guys are doing, hopefully i can get to 1000 birds, next year!
Best regards and keep up the good work...
Hi Carlos,
These are very good questions! If you are interested in consulting, contact us in the office at sevensons.net/customer-support.
How to you use this chicken house move in winter season coz should dry place also.
Happy Hens,just beautiful,!
Where did you add the grounding rod and what do you do with it when you move the fencing?
it is excellent Mr. God grant to you good luck. And how you support them in the winter?
How do you get them back in? By the way great to see animals well treated.....
Our hens have free access to their portable coop and the outdoors at all times. They are free to go in and out as they please. In the evening hours, all of the hens will take shelter in the coops.
Great idea and thank you for sharing this.
Well done!
The hoop house doesn't appear to have a floor, so when you move it do the chickens all just walk along inside? Have you ever had any problems with mooshed birds?
M.R. Weaver,
The key is to go slow enough that the birds can move along with the building. Going slow allows the chickens to keep up and prevent any unfortunate mooshing!
I thought it had a grid floor hence no chkns got squished
Unless their feet got caught under it, I imagine they'd also just get pushed along or rolled at that speed. Also, those chickens aren't the useless white breed. A couple times of moving and they know what's going on. You can see how they're not disturbed at all, it's just a daily occurrence, then time to roam.
God bless farmers like you.
good job bro.....now u got me hungry, ready for scrambled eggs with tortillas in the morning. ps and a hot homemade salsa.
The freedom of grazing is the best way. of poultry farming and other animals. congratulations .
Hello there, could you please tell me how many square meters of pasture are necessary for this kind of production? Also how big is this mobile chicken coop?
Great work. I am planning a similar system for my future farm. Currently buying some land. I have learned a lot watching your videos.
It sounds like you would also enjoy the resources offered by our sister companies GrazeCart.com and HenGear.com, especially the podcast on grazecart.com
Great way of farming !
How do you get them all back in? At night when they roost?
I always had trays of grit down for my hens.
GREAT VIDEO, I WANT TO SEE MUCH MORE OF THIS !!!
Since getting hens for ourselves I can't buy regular eggs in the winter. Not only do they not taste like anything, it's just not right. I was glad to see pasture-raised eggs show up in our grocery stores last year. Free-range doesn't mean they live in good conditions, just that they can move around a little bit.
Wow so how do you put them back inside the coop?
You are a great farmer those chickens are happy and that's the way it should be well done.
They look wonderful and happy❤️👍
Respect, man ✌😏
Fantastic, but how do you get them back in the coop?
Amazing... I love it ur hardworking
What do u feed them? Want to know the name of those hens please share some idea
how do ya get them back in the coup?
Awesome video!! How do the hens do in the winter when its snows or gets too cold? Do you keep the hoop house closed, add any heaters?
Plus a TV so they can watch Nancy Pelosi!!

a beautiful idea and love this video
Look at all those chickens.
Wonderful! So great to see.
Such a great idea!!
Great way of dealing with a large number of chickens. I saw a couple of geese in there with them. Are they the alarm if aerial predators come close?
I miss my Red Stars. they were incredible.
Thank you for sharing this with us. My four-year-old had a question. He was wondering if you raise baby chicks yourself.
This is awesome. I’d love to operate such humane and holistic food production. Great job!
What type of fencing are you guys using? Where can I find that specific one?
That is one amazing operation, Is there a video on how that chicken coop is built ??
Brilliant for healthy chickens.
How do you turn the coup?
Wowgreat hens a. Lot.. Yups quite difficult but it good for them.. Thanks for sharing this video.. Take care and Godbless
How do you keep tracking all of those chickens? Just making sure you are not losing any of them .
Great info and excellent system here. My question is how big of an area is portioned off for the pen for the electric fence? I seen the coop is 20ftx48ft with 1k hens but how much area do you need for the total set up? I assume you don't come back to the same spot for at least 30 days, correct (to allow the grass to recover and grow)?
For us, the fenced in area is 164ftx164ft and includes 3 coops, (3K hens). Typically we wait two months, but wouldn't be worried to bring this down to a 45 days.
why do americans say i seen i saw or i ve seen yw
Half of the population is illiterate.
Love it, very ingenious system
Nice Work! Great idea.
New subscriber here. Question for ya: do you have any problem with aerial predators?
Hello What types of curative and preventive medications do you give to chickens?
Simple and great idea. ❤️😍
Healthy happy hens.
love to see another video showing the inisde and egg collection of moble coop
Anyway you offer a way to get a few batches of your eggs delivered to North Jersey?
I love it thats a good set-up
Very cool. Love it. God bless you.
I love seeing this video. At once, I want to raise chicken in farm at future.
Hi ... i am Ali ... do you regulate diet according to these plants in computer??
How many square meters you have for 1000 hens? How fast they eat all the natural sources, and how often you have to change position? Thanks!
Nice informative video. Thanks
Thank you for what you do
They look happy and healthy 😁 nice job
