That old concrete pit and block is about amazing fill. I remember at one point, you all talking about how you would have to find ways to fit Bubba Dump into jobs. Now for a lot of these demo project, it is the perfect tool to have in the kit.
Howdy Mr. Dirt, You & Aaron did an awesome job cleaning that mess up!! Looking forward to the next installment of your clean-up adventure! Thumbs up!! Stay safe. Jim
Perhaps, next time you and Farmer Chris get together, could you talk about the sequencing between clearing brush to harvest on this new farmland? Things like tilling, plowing, seed choice, plugging, fertilizer, cover crops etc. and are you looking at a harvest in ‘24 or ‘25? Great video as always! Thx
I was thinking you were really enjoying yourself tearing down and smashing those buildings but weren’t going to really show how excited you were!!! The little kid with a powerful machine tearing stuff up! Can’t beat it!!!
I am originally from Michigan and always loved. Traveling North of Detroit to where our cottage was. It was 4 and a 1/2 hours due North in the heart of the Huron national forest! There were tons of farms that we would always drive past and as a kid. I always said if I ever got an opportunity to buy a farm. I would solely farm crops harvested and then give it away. To shelters and soup kitchens. Around the area! And I know the government doesn't allow that. Because it's against their stipulations! But I have always been a huge fan of farms and abandoned properties and developing them, but not necessarily for shopping centers and subdivisions. But the work that you're doing on this farm has drawn me in a 100%! If it wasn't for my normal browsing on UA-cam and watching my normal car. Revival videos such as vice grip, garage and puddin's fab shop along. And with sleeper dude, it wouldn't have drawn me into your channel! So I shout out to those guys as well! I know i'm the age of fifty one going on fifty two and I live north of memphis and tennessee! Thank you for having your content on youtube so I can view and enjoy!
Mike, that property's definitely looking way better now thst you and Arron have put your blood, sweat and tears into clearing and cleaning it. I actually can't wait to see future episodes of you finishing up the area you own with a before and after drone video showing all the changes and improvements.
I know what it's like to clean up when it's been let go for so long my wife bought the old homestead from her uncle about 5 acres and we have been cleaning up by hand for the most part it is a lot of work but is well worth it when you see the end result after you finish a section done
Hello Mike, thanks for this video of you and Aaron getting the old farm cleaned up. I raised Landrace pigs (Lot's of bacon) When delivered in a farrowing pen/enclosure, the newborns are called piglets or suckling pigs. After 3 months they are called Wiener pigs and can be sold since they are eating on their own. Sows are over 400 pounds and boars are about 500 pounds and love chewing on wood so most pens are made of concrete and metal. I used them to clear stumps, though it takes a couple of days but the stumps are out of the ground and less expensive than an excavator. :)
Absolutely love'n the Farm Series! Thanks for sharing it! I've tore down two houses and a 3-stall garage with my CASE 480 backhoe and I'm here to tell you, there not much that's more fun then tearing a house down with a backhoe! It sure comes down a lot quicker than it went up! Yep, the hog houses were just to low for any value and the pits made them zero value for anything you'd want to use them for! Thanks Mike & Aaron! Lee
The number one team is on the scene ,from field cleaning to Building destruction Mike and Arron does it all in a days work, Is that House in livable condition ? Another super video in the can .
Great channel and keep up the good work. Cement isn’t getting any cheaper😢. I would’ve left floor and built an equipment building over the two slabs. Could’ve been 3 sided or enclosed to keep some nice equipment out of the weather.
Loved the series sir, just like the rest of your videos, not all the same thing, different stuff going on all the time. thank you again for taking us along, we know it takes a lot to edit these for us and we thank you.
The tread area is several inches thick, and the sidewalls are a couple inches thick. Not to say they can get a nail and go flat, but it's not very likely.
The farrowing unit is where there born then they go to the nursery n then to finishing pens same size stay together til market.several different pens for different litters.only one farrowing unit.
The 80's were difficult times for farmers. A lot didn't make it. You & Aaron are doing a good cleaning job. It'll look a lot different is a short time.
Good job guys, it looks really neat. Quick question, what is the music you played during the 44:29 fast forward section of the demo? It was great! And, did Aaron get his dog kennel bits? Watching from South Australia, 12:50 am on Thursday 11 January?
The earliest breaker panels went into some homes as early as the late 1940's while screw type fuse panels weren't phased out until the early 1970's. My guess is that building was built in the late 60's early 70's given the panel is a screw type fuse panel. 22:48 "Little dusty" you can see the fiber glass sparkling in the sunlight as well.
That's some mighty fine demo.. actually satisfying to watch..kinda get that instant gratification like mowing the lawn and looking back and saying looks nice. Always cool to see how you master those controls in one fluid motion can definitely tell it ain't your first rodeo 😄 She's all coming together nicely and distruction is always good content. Appreciate you sharing your day and looking forward to seeing the final product. Stay safe and warm.😎👨🔧🇺🇸😇🙏
I wish you had a great big old CAT track loader to rip up the concrete from the hog barns. Track loaders are my favorite heavy equipment to watch work. There’s just something classic about them.
I've like this series on the abandoned farm....lot's of work but it looks good. It sure is a good thing the you've got MBTS there to keep you straight and under his constant supervision....it's a tuff job but somebody's got to do it. 🤣
Mike, LOVE this abandoned Farm series, and can;'t wait to see what you do with it all, this spring . Thought you said in one of your podcasts that the ground was NOT farmible??Wondering what you and maybe Farmer Chris plan on doing about it all. Glad the buildings are down, Hope you saved that Gate for Aaron, seemed to look like a pretty sterdy gate. was not aware that that house was also yours on your property as well. Lot of thoughts on that and how to redesign it to work better for what you may need it for. Office space, for the farm?? never know, would be nice to keep it, with the toilets and pluming in it, MIGHT need that.
@@glennspreeman1634not necessarily. I have trusses from an old hog barn and there is no smell to them at all. Saved them for a future shed, made from hemlock, not a single bee hole in them.
I think I would get a hold of the farmer that owns the green band and tell him we'll pour the pad and move it next to his building just to get it out of the way
38:00 If you look closely at the corn field you can see a baseball team looking out at Mike swinging their bats. If you look closer still it’s the Baseball Furies from the The Warriors … And they ain’t happy the club house has been destroyed 😬
Mike, on the land map it look like on your northern boundary there is a plan for a subdivision? Are you intending to develop the land for housing or return the land to useable agri?
I sure like my stihl battery powered pole saw. Been using the heck out of it. You got the extendable one that I wanted but got mine right after covid and all they could get was the non-extendable one, and the floor demo model at that. Better than nothin!
Hey Mike & Aaron !!! Too bad that you didn't contact Mark Bowe in WV. B/4 you tore those buildings down as he has a contact that recycles ALL metal roofing & siding into furniture !! Anyhows ,, Too late now for sure !! 🤔🤠😎
Thanks for the update sir, been a fun series to watch, looks great and best of all, the farm will become productive and useful again, and Farmer Chris will have more crop land to work with.
The ground under those barns would make for an excellent garden! All those years of composted poop means it's all just ITCHING to grow wonderful things!
@@kasnitch You've got that right and my hero is Kevin. There are quite a few other channels that I watch that also, in my opinion, are excellent. Sure is nice having the right equipment. Seems like a waste when they are sitting around but when you need them, they save you time and money. Was wondering if, that power line would be better buried in the future? Look a whole lot cleaner plus less of a safety issue.
Go to your local scrapyard, borrow a magnet for the Excavator to pull all the nails and tire poppers out of the dirt, weeds and old gravel, ash pile etc
The easiest way to separate the wood from the metal is to burn it all at once and then pick the metal out when everything has burnt up. Might be the reason you didnt show the separation process. Maybe... Great video DP and MBTS.

The li'l piggy barn is the farrowing shed.
Geeze, you deserve a dope slap for not separating the metal out as you tore it down! Prove me wrong. Love you guys.
So confused we did

Making it look good. Making the old farm useful again. It's amazing how long the brush pile has stayed hot for so long. Wait for the next adventure.

This has been a great series. Nice to see the cleanup and how it looks when your done. Nice job!!
good to see you not burrying the concrete and making it someone elses problem down the line
It’s good to see that you’re putting unused ground back into reasonable productivity. Shame to see a field that that one go to waste.

Great footage , nice clean job demo'ing thos old buildings .
I lived in a two bedroom duplex apartment that once was a Hog Barn. It ad a metal roof which was real cool when it rained.
Depending on how old the sheds are they may have better quality lumber sans water or termite damage. If they were from old, slow growth trees.
It would be awful from all the hog smell and manure
