Great vid.... We can all agree to disagree, But main thing is just have fun, Catching fish is a bonus, but get out there and enjoy it,. Back when i would bring my kids, a football, soccer ball, it was an event.. Look how far fishing has came over the last 50 plus years.... My Dad used a spud bar back when to make a hole, had a pole with a couple wood pegs to hold the line a split shot and a hook and away we went...And i look at my tackle i've accumulated over the past 30 years and OMG i needed to add another garage stall to house it.. 4 wheeler, 3 Shacks, Live scope, 3 flasher units, 3 Augers, 3 different heaters, 2 eight pole soft bags, 1 hard case, the list keeps growing every spring when the clearance super sales as you say happen.. But the picture album's and vids are priceless, with my kids and there friends on the ice... Biggest problem i had was transportation, I mean I have 3 children 2 boys and a girl, and they all would want to bring a friend with.. You just can't fit myself and 6 kids in a vehicle you know...Oh yeah had to get that trailer to haul the 4 wheeler to so add that.. God it's no wonder i have an EX-WIFE... But the kids all choose to stay with me, and she wonders why.... HAHA... J/K....

100 percent disagree on auger's ! Clam auger plate $150.00 and my DeWalt brushless drill I can bag out 25 to 30 holes on one battery and I use my drill 12 months of the year for everything as opposed one tool for only one thing I do for two and a half months of the year !

I've ran the Lazer auger with my milwaukee drill for the last 3 years. Lightweight and so easy. If I go to ND late ice and there's 3 ft of ice yea then a true auger is necessary.

I have been using a k drill for many years and burnt out a Milwaukee drill after about 5-6 years. I used to use the clam drill plate too but, last year I kept it off and just used the handle and I actually prefer it that way. Currently using Makita 40v drill for 2 seasons now and so far so good!

Anybody using Milwaukee tools should consider using the mud mixer instead of the drill. 2810-20

Yeah I agree I’ve had the ion and gas augers and the drill auger is by far the ticket I run my dewalt hammer drill with a 9AH battery and I can tag 70-80 holes out on one battery.

i use the lake master lite flight with a milwaukee hammer drill and i love it and i have 2 5ah batteries for it and can drill a ton of holes. really recommend over a whole electric auger set works wonder full and real light. make sure whatever drill you use is a brushless and preferable a hammer drill hammer drills generally have more power even in standard drill mode don't use in hammer mode for drilling ice.

I was completely straight forward on what it would cost for someone like me to start with the cheaper options. Without an auger, heater, house and flasher I wouldn’t be ice fishing. So yes. It’s a bargain.

I’ve been i e fishing for years. Many. Of all the stuff you need I’m at the point where the last thing on the list is a flasher or fish finder. This is just marketing.
You need an auger, rods/reels, jigs, bait and a tent helps.
Dont get caught up in all the marketing bs. I just bought my second auger after 25 years. No E40 or ion will last that long. The price of E augers and batteries is out of hand.
I’m in Manitoba we fish in xtreme weather. You dont have to have what everyone else has or uses.

LOL you are telling people to fish without a flasher and maybe without a tent and heat? You are the reason so many people try it once and hate it.
All of my friends that won’t try it now say it’s because their experience was a dad putting them on a bucket with just a rod in the freezing cold catching nothing. Won’t do it again. Sounds like how you like it.
I like having fun and catching fish.

The very first thing of the Video is the auger's , it looks like you are running a 8" and your partner beside you is running a 10 " and you putting all your weight on your auger but you pal is doing nothing , why ??? So your Cheap advice to get started in ice fishing is over $1,000.00 .

Your assessment of the auger is incorrect. But yes, i was very honest about price. Without a flasher, electric auger and a shack to stay warm in, I wouldn’t fish. And in fact I would say the people who don’t ice fish have told me it’s because they grew up with a rod and bucket in the cold and hated it. So the gear helps make the experience.
