Practice part H of the test: Passage Reconstruction
"Passage Reconstruction is similar to a task known as free recall or immediate recall. Candidates are asked to read a text, put it aside, and then write out what they remember from the text. In this task, a short passage is presented for 30 seconds, after which the passage disappears and the candidate has 90 seconds to reconstruct the content of the passage in writing. Passages range in length from 45 to 65 words. The items sample a range of sentence lengths, syntactic variation, and complexity. The passages are short stories about common situations involving characters, actions, events, reasons, consequences, and results.
In order to perform this task, the candidate must read the passage presented, understand the narrative, and hold the concepts and details in memory long enough to reconstruct the passage accurately in writing. Individual candidates may naturally employ various strategies when performing this task. Reconstruction may be more or less verbatim in some cases, especially for shorter passages answered by advanced candidates. For longer texts, reconstruction may be accomplished by paraphrasing and
drawing on the candidate’s own choice of words. Regardless of strategy, the end result is evaluated based on the candidate’s ability to reproduce the key points and details of the source passage using grammatical and appropriate writing. The task requires the kinds of skills and core language
competencies that are necessary for activities such as responding to requests in writing, replying to emails, recording events or decisions, or summarizing texts.
Example:
Robert went to a nice restaurant for dinner. When the waiter brought the bill, Robert reached for his wallet, but it wasn't in his pocket. He remembered having his wallet when he came into the restaurant. The waiter looked around the floor near his table. He found the wallet under the table.
The Passage Reconstruction task is held to be a purer measure of reading comprehension than, for example, multiple-choice reading comprehension questions, because test questions do not intervene between the reader and the passage. It is thought that when the passage is reconstructed in the
candidate’s first language, the main ability assessed is reading comprehension, but when the passage is reconstructed in the target language (in this case, English), it is more an integrated test of both reading
and writing (Alderson, 2000)." ("Student placement test", 2019)

John heard that there was an opening for pizza delivery guy in pizza store nearby. Since john likes biking and pizza, he applied for the job. When he reached the restaurant for job interview he was anxious but the manager decided to give him the job. Thanks to his great biking skills.
John came across a job opening of a deliveryman through a bike at pizza place near his premises. Not only he love to ride a bike but also he love to have pizza, so he decided to sit for an interview. At the time of interview, he faced nervousness & hesitation. Fortunately, he got his joining letter fron the resturant manager, Cheers! All credit goes to his biking skills and techniques.

Laura & Her Husband got 2 tickets for the Trinidad and Tobago Trip. As they were moving Away, she told her father in law to look after the plants and water them. Due to the work Loads, Her Father in Law Didn't remember to water the plants. When She returned home with her husband, they saw all the plants were in dehydrated condition.
When john heard that the pizza near in his place are hiring, he get that opportunity to used his skills in biking plus the fact that he love pizza. As a normal person, he was nervous along with the interview but luckily, the manager was amazed to his skills and get hired.
John heard that a pizza place near his flat was hiring bike couriers. He decided to apply since he likes biking so much. When he went for an interview he fumbled a lot, but the manager decided to give him the job anyway due to his biking skills.
Laura along with her husband went on a trip as they won 2 tickets for the trip from Trinidad to tobago, she requested her father-in-law to water the plants in her absence, which he could not do as he was busy in his work. On her return, the plants were in a bad condition
Maria came to airport with her brother. At counter when she was asked to show passport, she realised it was not in her purse. She was sure that she had it when they entered into the airport. When her brother looked around he found the wallet under his bag.

How to practice this passage re-construction anybody tells me
When Maria reached for her purse alongside her brother at the airport when as she was asked for her passport, she couldn't find it but she remembers that she brought it with her. Her brother then finally found the passport under his bag.
Maria along with her brother went to the airport. She looked for her passport in her purse during checking at the counter, surprised to see her passport missing. She was sure that it was there in her purse when they arrived at the airport. However, her brother found it under his bag.
