Thanks, she was my dads car, has been in the old woolshed for 50 odd years, just waiting for the right time to come out. Dad would be pleased I think to see one of his grandsons at the wheel.
I love that old Chevi boss, that's worth a tun of $$$$$$$$$. Ps. You got a still out there? ????He'll one of these days I'll pop in 4 a drink or 2. Keep rolling.
Nice 34 you've got their! I did see the first start up video👍Are you going to keep the old lady original? Sure hope so! It would be an injustice to see it go to ratrod fodder!! I purchased a 36 Chevrolet half ton pickup from my dad, not nearly the shape your's in; but plenty enough to get her there. Didn't need it but with the rat rod culture as rampant as it is in my area, I couldn't bear the thought of her getting butchered.
Ed Spencer definitely kept original. A slow job to get her back on the road, nearly there. A bit of rust to get off the chassis b4 she'll pass the vin, hopefully not too long now. With my dad having been such a vintage nut lol, the family all think the same way, original is best. Engine is running great, up to about 50mph the other day, sweet as.
"Butchered" is hardly the word for what the rat rod culture does to some really great vintage cars and trucks. Rolling scrap heaps after they finish wrecking them! Then you have the restorod culture which is just one step above the junk the rat rod crowd creates.
It was my dads car b4 they got married. Mum n dad went on their honeymoon in it. My son who is doing her up got married on the same day as them and they took photos of them leaving the venue in the chev. Wasn't roadworthy enough to actually drive away in though. Looked pretty good though.
It is very badly rusted in the chassis and door areas and have taken parts and the motor out of it and put them in my 52 4 door car. had been converted to OHV when I bought it about 1978 .@@kennyscott1089
5 window coupe' are fine,2 door sedans are fine,4 door sedans are fine,34 trucks are fine,34 convertibles are fine but the 34 3 window coupe'is the"🐱🐈meow".Just my pinion,my ring gear and pinion.🗽🗽🗽🔧🔧🔧
Sorry but the MASSEY is not for sale, it is on its 3rd motor and is one of the earley ones that originally had the exhaust and aircleaner side by side , 1949 stamped on it first regd in NZ 1950.
@@soulgravygarage8409 The last time a scrap dealer called in to have a clean up and destroy a lot of New Zealands history he got told... Yes there is a bit of gear in the yard ,more than I will ever get restored ,but there will be enough parts to keep our vehicles going in the years to come.
Love this kind of videos !!!!
Nice to see that it is going to be restored instead of being turned into some piece of rat rod junk or worse.
I love that body style!
the 30s is the best body style. i have a 35. old buildings and cars had curves.

Awesome a massey harris 744d fitted with a p6 perkins diesel engine. The 34 chev coupe ain't bad either.

@George Whitmore Google both years on line and you'll see that a '36 is entirely different. This is a '34.

The steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Yes I'm pretty sure you're correct, one of my brothers I think.
