I just received my meter. Thanks for the great overview of the product.
Your explanation was easy to understand.
Thanks.
You are welcome!
thank you for your excellent instructions; the directions that came with the unit did not explain how to power the unit and you did so very nicely
You are welcome.
@@robojax a
great video! any suggestions for a CT for more accurate measurements for smaller ampere applications? maybe under 20a?
Excellent, clear and concise 👍🏻
Another great video by Jax :)
Thanks
Thanks , That is the way I thought it hooked up but it is good to be sure. I am using this to monitor a 12500 W Generator to tell how much I am using (In Watts). Mounting on the Service Panel of my house. It looks like since I have 2 legs each with 120V , I will need 2 of these, 1 for each leg. Totaling 240V. Than I would add the 2 Wattage readouts together to get the total draw/watts . It doesn't even look like both wires would even fit through the clamp.
I just received 2 and will use them for the same purpose. I have a 13000 gen. Maybe you can answer me a question. I’ve seen different CT connections. Does the red wire from the CT go on the top connection or the black one?
Excellent details your videos thank you very much sir.. I am india
You are welcome. Ahmad from Canada
Thank you for the excellent explanation ❤
Thank you so much cor the video. You Rocks
Great videos, thanks so much!!!
You are welcome.
Great explanation, thank you very much!
You are welcome!
sir, I didn't get the capacitor, my question is want it to measure the power consumed by an ac unit which have two motors and two big capacitors will it measure the power consumed by the unit, right or not
please help and thank you for your great video
Great demo 👍 🙏
One of my favorite
Thank you very much for sharing
My pleasure
What is the maximum digit can the energy meter display? It shows reading in Wh, does it change to 1KWh after reaching 1,000Wh?
If not, for instance, the max digit that can be displayed is 4, It can only then show 9999Wh, If so, does it reset to zero after reaching max???? Hope you can clarify. Thanks..
Hi, it will go to 9999kWh. The link to Amazon or eBay will shows the specs. Here is one of them www.amazon.ca/dp/B00YY1KOHA
Excellent presentation.
Thank you.
Thanks, very informative and complete. I would love to see you show this meter with split phase 240 volt. Like that of an electric dryer or range. Will it show 120V or 240V?
you are welcome. it just measure the phase that is passing through the sensor. So you won't get the current value for more than one phase. Voltage doesn't matter.
Nice job Sir. Thank you!
You are welcome.
perfect product
what about tutorial?
Thank you.
Good job. I want to use it to measure Kw over a period of time. Will it work for that purpose? If so, am I able to clear the "counter" and reset it for a measurement over a new period of time?
Yes you can and I have shown how to reset it.
hi robojax, I am attempting to get reading from a 4 plug adaptor so as to measure the power consumption of anything I plug into it. I am in UK and the lead I want to test has 3 wires earth, neutral and live. so far I have cut the live brown wire and soldered on bullet connectors and heat shrinked tubes as you have on your positive wire so I can feed it through the current transformer coil. am I right in thinking I can now power the module if I attach positive to live and negative to neutral. I understand you explain what you've done well in the video but will this work how I'm doing it and is the capacitor a requirement for this use?
I will appreciate if you can help me with doing this safely thankyou,
Tom
Hi, I can't explain it by writing better than video. So watch the video that. The capacitor it seems you've skipped the video. I used the capacitor to proof that the module actually is showing the Power Factor pf. You don't need any capacitor. This video has the word on the image "tested" and many produces don't do the pf. so It passed the test.
@@robojaxthat is what I thought, I just wanted to check. your video is definitely the best could find on this module
I assume everything else im doing is right. your power cable has only 2 wires
I just ignore the earth wire and it is the same?
lastly I bought the jst connectors and and wire tap connectors and I am still waiting for them to arrive... is a wire tap connector a good way for diverting modules power from the main cable?
thankyou for your quick response and I apologise as I'm sure these are obvious questions
for current measurement yes. you just need ONE wire to pass through this. Earth wire is for appliances for safety purpose.
@@robojax thankyou
Hi sir,
I am using dc meter to check how many volts and amps are coming from solar. The meter is working fine in daytime but in night it's showing solar charging symbol in my pwm charge controller(like reverse charging)
Please help me on this
Hi, in my understanding this device wont heatup if we use example 22000W (the max of this device), because its use the CT for calculate the usage right? and is this device can store the data if the power is cutoff? i want to use this to calculate kwh of my 3 3d printer each month to pay to my parent.
it will not heat up to 100A. and yes it should keep the power but have not tested it.
if I was to use this meter with an SRC power controller ,would I pick up my power before or after the SRC controller
You should pass the power wire through this and then to any load you got. SCR is part of the load for this device.
Thanks alot. But my meter showing wrong wattage and kwh running continue
Will this meter display negative power readings , let’s say correct voltage sequence with the CT in reversed polarity
No I will not work. I believe
Hi jax .... i would like to know about the resistor smd R15 value which is in side just behind the inputs.
I would have to check the device at home. I replied yesterday but don't know what happened, youtube did not save it.
@@robojaxthnx for rply .... Please check it and tell me about the value of smd R15 of Pzem 061 version 5.0
Is it OK to extend the coil connector wires on this setup?
try it. use shielded wire so noise does not get into it.
When I set the required voltage, the display will flash. So I want to ask if he has any signal or control output. Somewhere on the board.
No output. It is the transformer that get the magnetic field and displys on screen.
Excellent
Thanks.
So I bought this meter to use on my old variac. Do I have to use the magnetic ring to use this? Or can just use the ac voltage taps on the meter? Thanks for any help.
May be you did not watch fully or you missed it. Of course you need it. Please watch again.
@@robojax I watched the whole video, but I'm not using this meter hooked up in the same way that you demonstrated. The load is coming from my tube amplifier that I'm going to have plugged into the variac.
To read the voltage we to calculate the power. We need a o connect the two wires. To read the current we need the current sensor (ring)
Can i use this for 24/7 inside our breaker that is located outside of the house?
tough question. contact manufacturer.
I have same meter. Will it record more than 10,000 WAtt hours? My application requires more.
you can go up to 4 digits. 9999Wh
Can you explain why you included the capacitor in your setup?
The whole video is about the capacitor. I just watched the video to see if I had forgotten explaining it. For sure have explained it. Watch the video and do not escape. I have spent more than a day making this video so you do not escape.
escape = skip
Vidéo en anglais mais traduction française. Bien expliqué mais les branchements sont peu montrés alors je rame...... merci
I need one for DC
For this, if the display shows up at 9999kWh, will it be counted again? Or hold like that Do you have to press to reset yourself?
that is 100MWh. Never tested but logic says it should reset and start from zero because new data has always more value than older data.
Thank you
you are welcome.
Tnx
You are welcome.
thank yoooooooooooooooo
you are welcome.
Sir can this meter to measure from 12 vac?
please read the title of the video if you have not watched it.
So It Will Not Read Voltages Below 80 And Frequencies Below 45Hz?
I have not tested it. We don't have any country to have home AC power below 110 V.
@@robojax Ok Yea I Don't Think It Will. My Use For This Was To Measure The Live Output Of An Bass Amplifer. They Output AC Voltages From 0-80v For My Application, And 0-60Amps AC With Frequencies Ranging From 20-40Hz. It Would Be So Awsome To See Live Wattage Of My Amplifiers Durring Test Tones And Maybe During Music With Long Bass Notes.
Sir I want this miter so I will how can apply .now I am saudia dammam
Hello, you can use it anywhere in the world. it works from 80V to 260V. So there should not be any problem.
How do you TURN OFF the alarm if once set??
I don’t remember anything about this product but if I had shown how to turn it on or set it then you should turn it off by unsettling it.
Is there calibration?
No as far as I know. It is already set.
what is the value of the capacitor?
which capacitor? The round thing is CT (Current Transformer)
Does it use with Dc current ?
It is AC only

If i use on inverter this meter is very hot.why?
It should not get very hot. "very" is not clear. If you are in area with 30°C room temperature, then if it gets 50°C or 60°C it should be normal.
15 m 37sec. Voltage 117v current 1.95 Amperes
But power is 90.60 watt. why? (İn your video)
117 Volt x 1.96 Amp. = 228 w
15 min. 46 sec. 113 volt x 11,29 Amp = 1275 watt ...1279 watt may be.
But ,why first power on ( level 1) 90,60 watt.
I have same problem :-(
the value is from the last day. It saves the values. If you want to use it fresh, reset it. I have shown how to reset it.
@@robojax thank you
@@robojax but, I did not mean wh value. I mean instantaneous power. Note that when the heat gun is operated at the first level, the power (lower left) does not show the watts multiplied by volts and amps. but at full power at level 2 it shows real value. I don't mean the energy part at the bottom right. Please pay attention to the minutes and seconds that I mentioned in your video. because I am having the same problem with the hair dryer.
please type the time like 2:45 so I can click and watch it.
@@robojax 15:32 heater level 1, power value is wrog. ( w = v x ı )
117 Volt x 1,96 Amp. = 229 watt.
But this product showing 90 watt
İt is wrong.I do not know why.
why it shows. do you know why?
15:40 heater level max. Power value is true.
Minimum watt reading?
1W only.

How much??
I have link to the store where you can purchase it. the link is in the description snag.gy/EG4O2l.jpg
Why do you (multiple times), point to package label as model 061 but both times say verbally "016" ???.....I wouldn't be so picky but the backside label you show identifies 2 discrete models....one being 061 and the other 016...so you need to be mindful of this error. Also the large print on your vid at timeline 0:41 also says "016" but I think it's backwards here too. At timeline 1:23 you also point to the package label ( 061) and "say" 016......same at timeline 2:03, reversed numbers again. Otherwise....a very excellent review and report.
Yes. I have made so many mistakes. this video has take two or three days to make (I forgot how long) and when I get tired, I try to fish it. If product is shown, then that is valid. Sorry.
No need to be sorry....my point was simply that in this case, there are indeed 016 models and 061 models, so to be clear for others viewing this. If that wasn't the case, and if it was only a slip-up, I wouldn't have brought it up.....nice job on the remaining details !!....cheers.
There could be a little dyslexia kicking in which is common, a lot of people have it, and it's no big deal.
@@DTomlinsonpiano ....as I said a few times already...no big deal in general.....but in this case there ARE 2 models....an 016 and 061, so it matters more in this case to somehow get it right.
Yup that makes sense about the 2 models.

welcome.
Its a pzem 061 , not 016

Hi there, The Robojax... I am not really good at electricity but I understand some basics of it. I just ordered one and it has been delivered to my house today. I have the very same model Peacefair PZEM-022 100A. My plan is to use it after my Circuit breaker which is 60A 220V here in the Philippines - so as to see all the readings of the entire house. Do you think it is applicable and can this meter sustain it if I connect it after the circuit breaker as a source of electricity in my house and having this device measuring the current, etc?
Please give me feedback HWcave for I am expecting answer and thank you very much in advance. :)
Yes it will work as this can measure up to 100A. the location either after the breaker or before will not affect the reading. Before breaker will show you the power is ON and that is it.
A good presentation.
Thank you.
