I could rewatch this film a million times, it's such an oddily gorgeously shot film even if it's genuinely horrifying. The director was 100% cooking when he made this masterpiece
I know its an excellent movie. I don't think I should watch it. It would break my heart. Maybe someday. Thank you for the excellent review as always! Love the skeletons! You guys make my Friday!
Here is another aspect about this film. That plane isn’t supposed to be a bomber. It’s a reconnaissance plane. The undertone is that no matter where you go, the enemy is always watching and not far behind.
Watching your review one thing that occurs to me is all the unusual shots of characters looking directly into the camera. It really makes it feel like they are looking at you the viewer, and it kind of makes you feel like you're there with them.
In Apocolypse Now u see a bull or a Ram getting split and beheaded with a machete . Not a special effect , actual footage filmed right there with the villagers on the island where they were filming 📹 .
@@garyny4073 I recently watched Wake In Fright with a really intense drunken nighttime kangaroo hunting scene where they really shot a bunch of them in camera.
We LOVE Wake in Fright, But I don't think they killed the Kangaroos for the movie, the movie was actually protesting the treatment of them with that scene. I think they used real footage they obtained of Kangaroo hunts, but the filmmakers did not kill animals for the movie (now this is going from memory so don't take this as fact, just what I recall reading about) Thanks for watching and commenting, we will probably be reviewing Wake in Fright some time in the future.
@@FrightfullyForgotten you may be right! I would LOVE to see you guys do that movie! Haha I can just see you guys cracking up over batshit crazy Donald Pleasance.
I've heard of this film, gentlemen. It's one of those films that I want to check out at some point. But, it seems to be one of those films I have to be in the right mood for, given its heavy subject matter. The fact you guys are highlighting it on your channel, though, makes me want to watch this all the more. Cheers, gentlemen.
Like yous guys channel. Just found it today. But my husband showed me this movie kinda recently within a 3 day span. (We were watching scenes on UA-cam, so I never did get to see the while film). I do remember him telling me to notice his transition from boy to old man. Must have been some true horror those people saw and lived through back then.
It's a fascinating sounds like a crazy film but it sounds like it should have been the Russians torturing everyone I mean that was more realistic than the SS

The greatest war film ever made, and it's not even fucking close.
You just took the words out of my mouth.
This and "Threads" always stuck with me. Both very visceral films that capture the hopelessness of a war torn dystopia. Hope you guys are well!
We are doing well and working hard!

It's a beautiful movie. I hope that you will watch it.
@@alabastersmidge4692I'll try it tomorrow. Have a great weekend.
Like we said it's not for everyone.

Those are some badass jackets fellas! Come and see leaves a mark on you for life, that’s one I’ll never forget
Those are legit Military Jackets!
Great review guys, thanks so much! Powerful movie for sure, everyone should definitely watch it once!
Wow thanks fellas! I usually know the movies you review…however this one is all new to me! Cant wait to watch it
Cool, glad we were able to introduce something new to you. Let us know what you think.
Ivan's Childhood is another example of brilliant cinema of the Soviet Union. Thanks guys for a great review.
Okay, we will have to try and check that one out as well.
Apocolypse Now - 1979 release , Colonel Kurtz ( Brando ) " The horror , The horror , The horror " . 😮
Come and See. We have such sights to show you.
I've heard great things about this movie ...it's definitely in my list for a while😊 great movie and review!😊
It's available for free on UA-cam !
Powerful movie. Great review.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, yes, the production crew killed that cow to shoot that scene.

@@RobbieSkyeHamilton that's sad , I don't think they eat kangaroo so just to kill a creature like that is sad

Yeah it's not a feel good movie by any stretch, really have to be in the right mindset for this one.
nice
This film and Elem Klimov's Wife's film "The Ascent" are really companion pieces to each other.
Is the skull in your intro an homage to Visiting Hours?
@@travismcdonald6576 you got it! It sure is
Einsatzgruppen?
SS-VT troops
Best ever! Masterpiece. Not a word I casually throw about. Yes, this is fucking horror!
Awesome vid I've never heard of this one before but hey the UK didn't get a lot of movies back then sounds interesting lads cheers best wishes 🍻🤘🍻🤘🍻
Cheers guys!
"Warror" category
Damn rights!
Same director made another great film called Agony about Rasputin.
we will have to keep a eye out for that one!
Come and See is pretty fucked. When I read the title I thought maybe it was going to be a review of Philosophy of a Knife.
I did research this movie they actually shot the cow for it to look real. Crazy😮
A Russian cow.
It is an amazing movie, one of my favorites, Incredibly well made, and yeah it is as much a horror movie as it is a war movie,
Craft beer is definitely more horrific than war.
