i was so unhealthily obsessed with FWF back in 2014-2016 when i was a dumb teenager and they were coming up and they literally gave me a framework for understanding what good music is. i would watch their live videos on a fucking loop (especially the SXSW NME set), glad to see this dude Lou is still shooting their concerts at the windmill and the boys are alright
great to hear Alex get more and more involved on the sax with every gig they play, sounds great. cheers for the vid Lou, one of my fav live performances of theirs yet!
I'm not super big on FWF's studio recordings (with a few exceptions like Feet, Goodbye Goebbels and Garden of the Numb), but my God, they sound absolutely phenomenal live.
Holy shit. Out of all FWF gigs i've seen on youtube this one is hands down the best. Must have been the experience of a lifetime! Thank you again for filming and uploading all these Lou, really doing god's work
Haha. There’s a bar/ restaurant in Clapham that’s been there for years called La Rueda which has a window at the front made from a cartwheel, so we’re both basing our sketchy knowledge of Spanish on bars we know. Maybe we’d better stick to the actual music 😂

🙌 yeah, me too. It's always a treat when they come back to their spawning ground.

03:04 An almost full pint of Guinness into the crowd. Zero fucks given.
I think he did regret the lack of a drink a couple of songs in though.
Great filming again Lou well done
🙌 thanks my man. Don't forget to check out part two. Link in description.
@@LouSmith will you also upload part two on here?

That's their thing though I must say their studio stuff is getting pretty good too. They have to be experienced live though.
@@LouSmith Yeah you're definitely right there

Thanks jk. Yes it was like taking a time machine back to those early, anarchic windmill gigs. Proper!
Thanks

Biste gleich oder gleicher..fliegste raus 🎉 geile message sooo gut
the guitarist on vocals sounds like every guy talking into their mic in discord at 3 AM
He's good like that.
great x
💎
i think this cements it: every post punk band needs some kinda saxophone.
Haha. or two.
someone have the setlist?
Whitest boy on the beach, wild American prairie, touch the leather, heaven on earth.
heaven on earth! wow what a party
Always a party, FWF @windmill
That would have been a great night. Shame about SXSW cancellation. Also Lias coming in a little early at 7:11 haha
Yeah. Saul wasn't gonna let that go lol.
Live at La Rueda
Isn’t that a wheel? Or a cartwheel?
@@LouSmith I'm not sure but I used to go to a bar in Minorca called La Rueda and it had a giant windmill

@@LouSmith we better stick to music and drinking in sketchy bars!

This video is sick, but dick move from the vocalist for throwing that pint over the crowd
Haha. He lived to regret it when he got thirsty later. Glad it wasn't my camera in the line of fire.
A very bad version of gong with the vocal delivery of the b52s
They're pleased with your analogy. Spot on.
