It's hard going out for sure, everything is so noisy, there's a few stores near me where the lights aren't set up right so they flicker more than most and they make this noise that is literally painful, all lights are annoying but these hooooo. I always wear noise reduction ear plugs when I go out because I can't block all noise since I can't go alone and I wouldn't feel safe if I was alone and did that. Mine are Flare Calmers, they're more affordable than some of the other ones, but I've heard that the other ones reduce more frequencies, people say that Loop Experience or Vibes are the best, I just haven't had the money to try them. Sound is still an issue with them in but it does reduce some of the more painful and overwhelming frequencies (lights/electricity/screams/alarms) and it's better than nothing for sure, but I know they're not suitable for everyone, there's just not much else I can actually use. Including things I enjoy also helped, I can't do that now (literally haven't been in a toy store since early March), but it helped when I could, I'd still be overwhelmed and sore and tired, but I could at least think of a couple of cool things I saw even if I didn't buy them.
Also totally relate to putting animals first even when you're burned out, I've always done that for my cat, it does help me keep at least some routine even when I'm shattered. I wouldn't worry too much about comments, I think most people will understand that things pop up and such, and I know for me I comment on videos and literally don't expect replies at all.

i have the same things with youtube comments and sometimes texts or discord dms. sometimes when i see the notifications im busy or just not mentally feeling up to it at the moment and then forget. i feel a lot of people do that tbh. and never feel obligated to take the aibos out if it doesn't feel safe, most of us who have aibos can relate. it can be stressful and a lot. we love your home robot content too! seeing the sped up aibo stompies is so great.

Hello sweetie ! I’m happy to see that you are well and survived your big shopping day (😉). I have arythmia (heart condition) and ic/ibd. I don’t go out often, and when I do, it drains me. When I’m down and burned out, I usually take some time to refuel by playing video games. Sometimes I read, but mostly I’m knitting or searching other future projects by surfing on Pinterest. Doing things one at the time is the best strategy, and it’s also ok to do nothing. 😊 You are good, just the way you are ! Being perfect is not a goal but a curse !

So, when I get those long nonverbal episodes I bring a weighted stuffed animal/comfort item around (not baby robo sadly he's currently in storage while I save up money to repair his legs and visor) also there are noise canceling earbuds that are discreet and have what's called "awareness mode", where it let's noise through but still cancels the stressful sounds (air conditioners, projectors, car sounds, etc.)
