    I use actual ChatGPT-4 all the time for things that have nothing to do with coding. The experience of using it directly is far better than using other tools that claim to be based in GPT-4. These co-pilots use GPT-4 as part of their tech-stack but don’t give you the full experience.

    Actually you can feed custom documents to copilot just by sending the link to them, a little more time consuming than uploading directly in chat but it works fine.

    Thanks. Check out the copilot restrictions for the "free" tier which involves throttling. It caters to more casual of users. Paid tier is the way to go if used frequently.

    I use both of them, but i use chatgpt more. I like copilot for generating large documents. it looks like chatgpt is a bit too conservative for generating longer documents. i also seem to trust copilot for browsing the net, so i use it for more search based queries , especially on latest info. copilot has also sometimes generated code better than chatgpt. my biggest problem with copilot is the small context window of 4000. so if u want a code corrected or summary of a larger document you will have to do it in bits

      Really! That's interesting are you using the paid version with turbo or just 3.5 ? Most people would think there isn't a difference between Chat GPT 4 turbo and Co Pilot because its using "GPT 4 turbo" but there definitely is a noticeable difference especially with speed. Other than that I agree Browsing for new information is better than Chat GPT it's great for web searches, shopping etc... Bard is a great assistant for general questions and for the Google suite of apps, but for the information. I trust Chat GPT way more, the biggest differentiator is the amount of data it's trained on and the ability to create your own GPTs and customize them to your liking for more accurate results. I find Chat GPT to be the most accurate of all three. The lack of context makes Bard and Co Pilot so frustrating to work with sometimes I swear. Co Pilot has trouble with images and wants to fight with me all the time and Bard can't get an image right most of the time to save its life. While Chat GPT gets images right, and revises wrong information based on your input, idk if anyone knows how refreshing that is. Plus the voice chat is fantastic and I can continue talking from previous chat history.

    • @HappyBirthdayGreetings
      @HappyBirthdayGreetings 7 місяців тому

      @micahjohnson9184 yep, you are right. the many advantages of chatgpt is why I use it the most. Image recognition in chatgpt is just outstanding. the last time I used copilot it was just horrible, bard was way better, but chatgpt was miles ahead.

      You can use it like this:
      # When the code is React, it means I'm using React 18 together with Typescript.
      # When writing code, always comment out the functionality.
      # In any completion, first write the steps and then write the steps with a snippet below each step.

    • @dbrad02
      @dbrad02 7 місяців тому

      As someone with 0 experience or education in coding myself I understood almost none of that. My lack of coding skills is why I’m interested in AI’s ability to write simple code but it seems you have to give it instructions in a specific way that you would only understand after the first semester of a Computer science degree anyway.
      In reverse order:
      1. What’s a snippet?
      2. What does “comment out the functionality mean?”
      3. I recognize all of the individual words in your first “#” but I can’t get a coherent concept out of them.
      Be honest. Am I basically hopeless to try to get a tool almost none of us understand (generative AI) to output something I certainly don’t understand (code)?

    Hey Corbin, love your channel and love your show. I'm answering the question in your thumbnail... No, we do not need chatgpt anymore. I switched to Microsoft co-pilot and have not looked back. In fact, I switched from being in the Google universe to going all in to the Microsoft universe because of co-pilot.
    It's amazing how you go through phases. I started with Microsoft back in the '90s, switched over to Yahoo in the 2000s, then went to Google in around 2015. Now I'm back to Microsoft 365, largely due to co-pilot.
    Also, I saw a video where you showed the integration between Microsoft word and copilot, and I cannot see that integration in my current implementation of the product.
    You showed a situation where you did a search and co-pilot and then you were able to click a button and have the results of that search open up in word. I cannot figure out how to do that. Can anyone help?

    I recently got copilot plus, $20 a month. Not impressed. Not much better than $10 version. It's context length is laughably short compared to paid version of GPT. Even when I do @workspace it gets lost and can't remember what I need (again due to context limits) if it had infinite context (a newly discovered technique) then it would completely be worth it.

    Copilot seems more restrictive in some topics, eg religion. It gives the reason (excuse?) that it doesn't want to offend people, even if asked to list specific info from the bible, and not asked to discuss interpretations.
    Copilot also loves to simply repeat itself rather than correct itself, even if it admits it made a mistake previously.
