- The Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) Model 1918 was designed by John M Browning and prototypes were demonstrated in February 1917. Orders were placed in July 1917 with the guns manufactured by Colt, Winchester and Marlin-Rockwell. Delivery started in February 1918 and were shipped to France in June 1918. However, they were not used in combat until September of that year, some 48 days before the Armistice. BARs, with very little modification were used in WW2, Korea, and in the Vietnam war. Animation created using Cinema 4D. Music credits are shown at the end of the movie.
So three Germans walk into a BAR...
BAR with 100 round box magazine would be terrifying.
I'm very glad that you did include the A2 slowing mechanism.
Designed by the greatest gun designer ...John Moses Browning.
Imagine if they used this concept of the BAR operating mechanic to make a weapon which is chambered in .308. Imagine a very smoothing full auto shooting with full rifle cartridge with the lowest of recoil while being catagorized as "Assault Rifle" insead of "Browning Automatic Rifle".
My dad carried a similar one from France, Belgium and Germany. Heavy as hell. He said they threw them damned bipods away. WW2 of course.
MG-42 for the next video please.
This kind of weapon didn't exist at that time.
I need 300000 of tjose to buy ok
1918 BAR is best BAR.
John Browning's engineering is king.
Great animation. The mechanical ingenuity that has gone into full auto firearms always amazes me.
Brilliant animation! These are some of the most fascinating videos on the internet, you simply can't take your eyes off them.
I think this is still one of the most iconic rifle ever made!
My great grandfather carried one of these in the pacific theater during WWII
The brilliance of browning
The art of presenting the complex as simple to understand. Brilliant and thanks.
Interesting coincidence. I’ve been doing a pretty deep dive into BAR history over the last couple days and then this happens.
Very easy but vivid. I can understand why people said Browning was a genius. When I was in military. I had chance to use Browning M2MG which had very complicated parts. M2 was always bothering me when I assemble and didisassemble it.
Exceptional video quality man, keep it up!
