    “Allow the digressions.”
Yes. That’s how I create first drafts of novels.

Nice interview. I was listening to a young poet the other day performing downtown on the sidewalk in a small city here. He had been to Asia, Cambodia and loved it. He did remind me a bit of Spalding, the way his poetry was a bit of stream of consciousness...I told him to watch Spalding Gray's 'Swimming to Cambodia'. Hope he does.

I miss Spalding Gray. I was lucky enough to see him perform before he died. The man was brilliant. He mesmerized me with his monologues. I own Monster in a Box and it’s one of my favorites. Rest In Peace dear Spalding. ❤️

I loved the work of this man..Saw 2 of his filmed monologues.
..I fight depression as well..but there are many options to keep it back.. I dearly wish I could have met..talked with him about those options..I am about to finish a monologue..one woman play about crippling loss..and will remember how he inspired me.

You said " crippling ", rather let's look at it together as liberating, I said, clutching your hand while you lifted me up.... Good work changing lead to gold. You are loved and I hope you share what you have created. I will look for it in the ethereal mail.

3 years ago...seems an eternity but it is not...even in times like these moving so fast , covering such ground. Might be long for an suv though.?

I am sorry for your loss Connie.... I will not remove my comments because your liberation is still the goal of angels, one in particular. Always your friend in spirit. Mike.

Thank you for sharing this! Probably the best interview I've ever seen with my storytelling hero.

+Dini Petty Spuddy is my Storytelling hero. I was only lucky enough to see him once in person, but I have watched his monologues so many times, I can repeat the lines with him. He inspires me everyday! I shared the link on my FB page, too ( facebook.com/montywolfkoh/ ). I also enjoyed your interview with another hero: George Martin.

He destroyed her and left with her not feeling the wounds. I miss him so. A brilliant star, a tragic man and a blessing for my life. Being lucky enough to have heard and seen them all in order of creation. Sadly, now in retrospect, everyone is hiding and not well, the screaming cry of a life soon to be taken by the tragedy that was his muse.God blesshis soul.

What a darling man, he was...I sat in the small audience in the Preforming Garage a few times and saw most of his 3 or4? part play Three Places in Rhode Island. What year was this interview???

Far as I can tell, 1994. She mentions the performance will be first week of June, so shortly before that.
