Props to the all coffee workers around the world. From the farmer to the barista. Thank you for the coffee that make our soul alive. Thank you for the coffee that make our day better.
It is one of those inventions where I ask myself; HOW did humanity ever came up with the idea to harvest a fruit, use the seeds, roast them and grind them into a powder, and then pour hot water over the grind to make a drink from it? Did they try this with apple seeds too for example? The idea of brewing tea might have had a helping hand with it I guess...?
Am I the only one that thinks this guy sounds like that one guy with his suit that always talks to different versions of himself of how they like to eat different things? nice video though, loved the precision
Me who came here for understanding the chemistry of why coffee is acidic in nature? On roasting green coffee beans chlorogenic acids of green coffee beans disassociate into caffeic acid and Qunic acid which tastes bitter conclusion that generally acids tastes sour and this is an exception.
great video, really loved the insights into the coffee journey! but honestly, i can't help but think that the whole process feels a bit overly romanticized. like, do we really need to highlight every step when so many people just want a quick cup?
The amount of travel the bean takes on trucks then cargo ships which use the worst sludge to power, then trucks a few more times until it gets to your cup is staggering which is why I love when parakeets repeat to me their learned message that our lifestyles are destroying the planet. I always ask them since they demand sacrifices if they plan to give up their caffeine addiction as well their papaya/imported fruits in favour of local products (not to mention not buying new phones/gadgets that end up in toxic wastedumps) and no one is game. When someone drones on about changing lifestyles for the good of the planet, always ask them if they plan to give up their coffee.
I mean you can argue this for almost every modern day product and commodity, I think the important thing to ask ourselves is which one of these commodities are worth their negative impacts; which ones offer more positives than negatives?
A comment from Japan. The name coffee is a variant of 'Caffa' sometimes spelt 'Kaffa' , which is the region in ethiopia where coffee originated. The west capitalist system owes special rights and royalty to Ethiopia from whose product they made billions. Ethiopia is known for many contributions to the world, many which couldn't be outlined here, lest it gets boring. For decades neo colonialists have not done justice to Ethiopia, depriving it title to many rightful products such as coffee, teff even the waters of the nile. Instead they payback with discredit on their mainstream media, landlock the country through political mischief, sponsor and foster tension along ethnic lines, fabricate history & lies and their glib, hypocrite politiciana & college professors arrogantly come forward to dish out their watered down analysis on the state of the country.
whats delicious is coffee beaines fried with sugar oil and beans, somalian made food... coffee fried is so crunchy with the delicious sugar oil and beans....

You're right but coffee, rubber, tea and fruit trees absorb atmospheric carbon.
