Thank you so so much for posting these. I search the internet for every DW talk and video I can find. I read Hearing God in 1998 and have been following him ever since. It makes me happy just to see and hear him. I love his teaching and his sense of humour- but most of all his heart. The love shines through so beautifully. Thanks again!!

Dr. Willard changed my life. He is 100% correct, change comes from the inside through the Universe an entity we call God. I miss him so very much. Change is not passive, it is active we must act to realize the change made possible by God.

It is so helpful to have these videos, to hear the concepts from Dallas Willard's books spoken in slightly different words. Thank you so much for preparing this material and posting it so that we can all benefit from Dallas' wisdom.

When I had the privilege of discovering Dallas, I realised he was a sane voice in a crazy church (not to mention a crazy world.) I miss him, still...therefore I am so blessed to discover this video...as tears fall.

So well said. A sane voice in a crazy church. All my life I have searched for someone to explain the Bible and life with God to me. My life could be described as me thinking I had found those people, but the “fruit” of them was not good. As Dallas might say, I “tried them on” and found, both through my experience of living and thinking about what they said, that they didn’t understand. Dallas is the only real disciple of Jesus that I have ever had the privilege of experiencing. I have said that he is like the kindest grandfather you ever had explaining everything to you.

@@robvandiver8921 Awe. I used to regard him as 'uncle Dallas' until I found we were pretty close age wise. Nevertheless, for a brother in Christ albeit way ahead of me educationally, to be regarded as a relative like grandfather, uncle etc shows he carried the Father heart of God in his heart towards others and that is quite rare in the church. Blessings to you and yours, Rob.

@@robvandiver8921 Are you familiar with John Piper?
Give him a listen... "Ask Pastor John", "Look at the Book", Desiring God is the name of his ministry. Excellent.

As I hear him speak, no matter the topic I think; “What if Jesus meant what he said?”
If I don’t see these things in my life, the fault is mine - not His - (His being Jesus)

The Spirit gives life. The letter kills. It sadness me when my friends, legalists rejects the theme Dallas teaches. But I praise God for those who get this. One day as other mature they will too.

Does anyone know what song he is referring to at the beginning of his talk?

    • @dallaswillard
      @dallaswillard  3 роки тому +4

It's brian Doerksen song from the 90's.
I long for freedom to live in the truth
I want to be more like You
But every time I try to bring about change
I only touch the visible me
There's only one way I'm really gonna change
Just like King David, I cry out to You
Create in me a clean heart
I've grieved You again, I need Your release
From patterns that keep me in sin
There's only one way I can finally break free
      Change me on the inside
      Change me on the inside
      Change me on the inside
      Change me on the inside
      Change me on the inside

When Moses left Egypt with Israelites, they got to the Red Sea and Egyptians were hard on their heels. Moses had to trust God and step forward into the sea and God then divided it.
Incidentally Egypt in hebrew is mizraim which means misery .
Moses stepped forward and the people followed him leaving misery(egyptians) behind them and God destroyed the misery( egyptians) too.
