I can imagine being estranged enough from my dad to only call him by his first name. But the only way you would know I was estranged/angry with one of my aunts is because I called her "Aunt Helen" rather than "Auntie Helen". I believe a lot of the problem with our modern society would not exist if people understood the importance of aunts.

Not really. Both of his parents lived there until his mother died, then his aunt moved in when she married Arlo. So by law and by birth it is his parents house.
