    Great video, Thank you! I just upgraded from the Tuono to the RSV4. I gave the Tuono to my wife for her second time riding it and she let her father ride her Daytona 675. They both were having fun on the back country roads where we live and were riding way too fast and rode right through a large police trap going well over the speed limit. Luckily for me I was in the back and noticed the speed trap and slowed down. My father in Law, who is in his late 60's and my wife got 71 in a 45 speeding tickets. Luckily for me I didn't get one. Unfortunately, the local municipality lowered the speed limit from 55 to 45 for whatever unknown stupid reason. Thanks for your Aprilia videos, I always enjoy them!

      Wow, props to you...talk about a riding family. And respect to your Father-in-Law for being a senior rider like me!
      It's hard to go slow on the RSV4 in my humble opinion, so good thing you noticed the speed trap. They pop up every now and then. I think that sometimes it's a grab for revenues, other times I know they are responding to neighborhood complaints of speeding or a recent accident. But, for the rider it's a bummer in either case.
      Thanks much for the compliment, means a lot to me sir!

    I just did mine today, it took 28 days to arrive to New Zealand from AF1 Racing. If you immerse the rubber piece in very hot water for 5 mins then fit it, the centre switch goes through easily, use a bit of silicon spray as well but mine didn't need it. The Aprilia instructions say to do this as well. All in all it took me about 15 mins to complete. Thanks for the video Garey it was a great help.

      Thanks Garey, I just love my Tuono, always wanted one and I'm not disappointed. I had a 2021 Yamaha MT-10SP which I modified, and it was a great bike, but ultimately it was lacking in the modern electronics. if I had of known they were updating it for 2022 I would have held off (I did ask but they didn't know). The more I read though, it was obvious that the Tuono was the one to get it won all the shootouts. I have also just fitted the Aprilia MIA and it was well worth it. I worked it all out, my Sena pairs with the bike, THEN the phone pairs with the bike as well and you can control it all from the LH switch block, you also get all the cool telemetry on your phone on the Aprilia App. I would have to say though in this day and age it should really come stock with the bike, from what I can see almost 100% of riders have their smartphone fitted on the handlebars, even if you don't you can use it to charge/power other equipment. As an aside NZ bikes are not restricted in any way, they just conform the Euro X spec. My MT-10 was way more powerful than the USA version which seems really restricted by the ECU mapping from the factory.

    With the off-season for sportbikes mostly here in New Mexico, I went ahead and installed provisions for the NOCO Genius system (charges any Lithium, Lead Acid, deep cycle, flooded, gel, AGM, etc. batteries) to maintain my 2 bikes with lithium batteries ('The Phantom' and the Yamaha R1). The connector is certainly more bulky than the old ASE-style connector, but I wanted to physically differentiate it so that it never gets accidentally plugged into a non-lithium charger/maintainer. Although my lithium batteries have always started (even when they've sat for a bit), I have something coming up that will require extended attention and I may not have my motorcycles in mind for several weeks at a time, so the battery maintainer will cover things for me. As with your project you just shared with us, I just needed to figure out proper lengths of cables, zip-tie points, etc. to keep everything free-moving but as neat and trim as possible. Thanks for sharing, Garey - and greetings again from The Land of Enchantment!

      Hey dude, glad to hear from you sir! Yes, there is a bit of fiddling to do but ultimately worth it. I've ordered some 90 degree connector cables that are installed in the VLOG I just posted this morning. Still a bit too long so I do have to loop them and get them neatened.
      I'd love to see pix of your installation?
      I don't know if I shared it but my local dealer for Ducati had a disastrous fire a few years back caused by hooking up the wrong charger to a battery, can't remember which way it went lithium charger/lead acid battery or vice versa but it was a really bad outcome.
      I hope that the "extended attention" you mention is a good thing, and if not at least it ends as good as it can.
      Take care and ride safe!

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude  Рік тому

      So, on my bike it was buried pretty far into the back of the cavity behind the TFT panel....I did have a bit of time trying to fish it out, grabbed a little coat hanger hook to haul it over and out....I'm only assuming its the same for your bike?

    I went the cheap route. Bought MP0609 (really close to the right size without a grommet) and had the right connector on hand from Amazon. A little electrical tape and fit water tight.

    • @idkofone
      @idkofone 2 роки тому +1

      I had to switch the terminals that plug into the Tuono. Always use a voltmeter when dealing with electricity! Great videos!

      @GareyCooperdude  2 роки тому

      Don't know what the "MP0609" is? But yeah, the connection probably has a cheaper route to go. Good work.

      Really? Wow, that is a big oops on the part of the factory there. I've not heard of this before, but glad you caught it! Now I'm paranoid....LOL. But my phone charges when connected so I'm assuming I'm okay. Good catch.

    My charger arrived yesterday so this is perfect timing ,great video as always 👍👍. They do make right angled leads I have one for my iPad Amazon had loads

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I found the 90 degree angled AFTER I made this VLOG.....and I have ordered some. Unfortunately the shortest length I found that would work was 3 feet, 36 inches. So about foot too long, but should work better. I'll let everyone know.
      P.S. I should have also mentioned that you should use a cable capable of withstand outdoor conditions and much more flexing than the standard as supplied....there are wrapped cables that will be more hardy for motorcycle use....this is also what I ordered.
      Thanks for the comment...don't forget use something for a bit of lubricant on the grommet and that will help you.

    Thanks for the great videos. By any chance, do you know if Aprilia have digital owners manual for the 2021 Tuone?

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude  2 роки тому +1

      I do not know if there is a digital owners manual. I do know that www.af1racing.com. Has a digital parts diagram available online. This has occasionally been helpful to me when I have wanted to see how something is disassembled.

    Hi, where did you get this usb supply i want the same for my mv agusta

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude  Рік тому

      Hey Tiago, you say that it is for your MV Agusta? If so then the USB power take off you would use will be different to this one I installed on my Aprilia. I had a 2014 MV Agusta Brutale and as I recall the battery was located under the seat. Given the designs of modern bikes this is probably still the case. So, you will need to remove your seat, locate the battery, and install a "generic" type battery to USB type "pony tail" wire.
      Here is one that I found on Amazon here in the USA; MICTUNING SAE to USB Cable Adapter Waterproof USB Charger Quick 2.1A Port with Inline Fuse for Motorcycle Cellphone Tablet GPS and More.
      You'll want to get something like this that has a fuse inline between the battery and USB side for protection of your electrical circuit.
      Hope this helps!

      Just got it from AF-1 racing here in the USA....out of Austin, Texas. But, I have seen them on eBay/Amazon as well. There are quite a few out there and the don't have to be specific to the 2021 year.

    use soap not a dremel ...

    • @GareyCooperdude
      @GareyCooperdude  8 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comment...and yes, soap would work and has the advantage of coming off over time with no residue. What I did end up using is a plastic cleaner/polisher called "F11" which has enough lubricity to get the job done and again, will leave no residue over time.....but good ol' soap, yeah that'll work!
      Thanks again.

      Well, I wouldn't call it "pretty" that is for sure. But it is "factory" and will get the job done. What other options do you know about sir?
