Only use your sideview mirrors. If your boat starts to appear on your left mirror, turn your wheel towards that mirror to straighten your boat. And if your boat starts to appear in your right mirror turn your wheel towards that mirror. Most simple way of backing a trailer.
I am replying again with thanks!! I tried this method on multiple trailers at my work and was able to park them into pretty tight spaces using this tip so kudos to you again sir!
Right person in the right industry wirh the right passion , this world will be a much better place if you get the right people in the right places , I’ve never backed a trailer in my life , now I’ve got the confidence to have a crack
She did better on her first try than some that have been launching it all summer! I'm going to try the bottom of the wheel trick. My short trailer jetski is difficult!
Good job, I have passed on the bottom of wheel idea many times, also ,if no spotter, it is better to jump out and look then bump something. From other side of world.
Somebody put your steering wheel on the wrong side. Just kidding. More people need to watch videos like this. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in line behind someone that waits to get on the ramp to load everything in their boat and cut their tie downs loose. Thank you for making this video.
We all wish more people watched something like this! We had some blokes break all the etiquette at a ramp up North, cut us and the boat behind us off, took ages to launch as they never stopped to prepare themselves. Boy did we laugh straight to their faces when their $150k boat was 1/2 full of water cause they forgot the bungs!
Must come down and chat about an upgrade. Is it your shop that's on the LHS of the highway as i come down to brissy from the sunny coast?@@BrisbaneYamaha
Hand at bottom. Always. Left is left, right is right with hand at bottom. Practice. Take boat out to a parking lot and practice straight in, and when you have to do a arch launch, which is most difficult where you have to launch at an angle.
The biggest pain is when you have to reverse a low, small, skinny, empty trailer that you can't see out the back or in your mirrors with the thing going almost sideways before it appears in your mirrors. I ended up adding one of those off-road flags with a magnetic base to the mudguard before reversing so you can get an indication when it starts to go off track.
hey arron you know ive watched heaps of your vids. there incredible. I more than likely will be looking for a new boat some time next year and im going to be ringing you, if i can get a good deal from you ill be comming there from victoria.
Call me and I promise the best deal in Australia I survived in Victoria for 15 years Fished the bays and rivers Beautiful but bloody cold and wet chased me out
I have a question; say you're out alone and don't have anyone to mind the boat while you're taking your car or truck off the ramp. What do you do then? Do you leave your vehicle on the ramp while you idle the boat to the nearest dock to tie up and then come back and move your vehicle off the ramp?
It depends on the size of your boat, most people use a rope to guide the boat off the trailer, then secure the boat either on shore on on a jetty, all without having to enter the boat. Obviously different boats and circumstances will require a different approach.
Amazing job. Greeting from NYC. Always like to see women in front. Your a good instructor. One day I might sail around the world who know for now, just starting out. 🌱🌻🤔
That's because - as he pointed out *several times* - that he's done this thousands of times and doesn't get confused by switching between the two views.
wow, good job, the "narrator" is trying to calm her down, BUT WAIT... (not the larry emda quote!!)..that's the BOSS'S BOAT!!!!!, she whould still be stressing out.
Are you sure I think you should relocate to Australia it’s the new land of opportunity where anyone can be anything and it’s safe to walk the streets at night and go boating and fishing anytime you want
Wait. Doesn't everything spin in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere? Come on, right hand drive, things spinning in the wrong direction. I wouldn't know which way to go.
You do not steer with your hand at the bottom, you maintain 10 and 2 o clock hand positioning and you never steer with 1 hand. The best thing to do is take the ramp straight on, turn and pull forward until your boat is relatively straight. The less steering you do the better, then make small adjustments. If you over steer you can just pull forward to straighten out. There's no rush.
Your an idiot It’s about giving a way for people who can’t reverse or a starting point for new people Or when you get confused There is no right way just a way that works it’s not the only way
She’s never backed anything before would you like to learn to back on a busy ramp? I can back a boat around a maze and maybe you can too the clip if for new backers who should learn in a non stressed location
She did a great job. I just got my first boat a month ago and a beginner at ramp launches. Everyone was a beginner at some point, or did you forget where you started. The key for me is to go slow and take your time.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.. . Keep it up!!!!!

Exactly!
This is an awesome tip for sure!
Thnx

What if you have to go around a corner?
I like this guy he’d give any newbie confidence
A very real demonstration and coaching. The ariel view along with regular views was very helpful. A+
You are a great teacher that teach using trailer to somebody that can even not drive the car👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Right person in the right industry wirh the right passion , this world will be a much better place if you get the right people in the right places , I’ve never backed a trailer in my life , now I’ve got the confidence to have a crack
You’ve made my day
And i bet you’ll be a backing pro in no time
What a trooper your assistant is!!! Thanx!
She did better on her first try than some that have been launching it all summer!
I'm going to try the bottom of the wheel trick. My short trailer jetski is difficult!
best video about backing a trailer i have seen on you tube. ( i use to live in godwin beach so i use to go to that boat ramp all the time!)
I normally wouldnt comment but that was a great video, I looked like a great at the colmslie boat ramp today, not tomorrow though, cheers mate
As a new boat owner, helpful vid I will use.
Good it’s a skill we all need
My kids can back trailers
easy teaching and great job
Good job, I have passed on the bottom of wheel idea many times, also ,if no spotter, it is better to jump out and look then bump something. From other side of world.
Great lesson ... She's a natural
My first time backing a boat in the water was absolutely embarrassing
Perfect training
It is evident to me that you had very good teachers in primary school. It starts there...👍
I should apologise to all my teachers I wasn’t as good as they were
Great Video, Thanks. Nice tip
Giving it a go tomorrow...fingers crossed
Stunning job ... well done! Now you can teach me!

Funny I’ve had people stop me in street and say it changed there boating life
Thanks

Thank you very helpful
Mate you make bloody awesome videos. Why cant these other dipsticks make videos this good?
Great class!!!
you did a better job than I do. Have a beer!!!
Good video mate, you gotta steer the trailer, not the car 👌 mirrors are your friend, trust them.
That ramp is huge. :) Even I could do that. :)

Yes I sometimes move it by hand two people can slide a small trailer
Or put a pole on back of trailer so you can see it
The Steve Irwin of boat trailer backing..........
The worst thing when they tell you to straighten up the wheal. Because nobody ever knows how straight your wheal is.
Well done!

If Steve Irwin was a boat dealer this is what he would look like
The steering is on the right no way no way. But good work absolutely correct 👍 practice practice.
What a nice voice
Do not wear seat belt in case of brake failure and to expedite launch , good video Mate
When reversing you do not need to wear seat belts by law
Says that people who look backward instead of using mirrors get confused then proceeds to keep looking backward
Would be much easier if you put the steering wheel back on the left side where it belongs!!!
i want a steering wheel on the trailer, kinda like some old type fire trucks used to have! LOL
On the cacky side lol we drive on the right side because it's right ✅️
This won’t work for left hand drive cars since he is on the right side. Only works in the UK and Australia
Are you sure
I think you should relocate to Australia it’s the new land of opportunity where anyone can be anything and it’s safe to walk the streets at night and go boating and fishing anytime you want
Brisbane Yamaha nah, you guys drive on the wrong side of the road
Wait. Doesn't everything spin in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere? Come on, right hand drive, things spinning in the wrong direction. I wouldn't know which way to go.
The steering wheel is on the wrong side ! :-)
The only problem I see here is your trucks steering wheel is on the wrong side of the truck.
Just look out you back window. It’s that simple.
A lot of times you can’t see or if you have a larger boat
Nice tip! Thanks!!! Im in the UK... Is it upside down for us? :-)
My small 6X4 trailer is twice as hard to back than my boat or caravan
Aaron was actually driving ...not the woman with all the verbal instructions.
Todaai
What’s that
@@BrisbaneYamaha It's how you pronounce 'TODAY' @the beginning of the video

First off, learn how to back a trailer before you get one with a boat.
It's not a race, go slow and make small, frequent adjustments
It’s a race! Can be a war
Have you been to a busy city ramp on Saturday morning like Carrum Downs or parramatta or Mooloolaba
Get it done quick
That ramp is so wide even a blind man can do it... Try it in a cramped space and tight ramp spaces.
She’s never backed anything before would you like to learn to back on a busy ramp?
I can back a boat around a maze and maybe you can too the clip if for new backers who should learn in a non stressed location

mate, you were doing it ass up at the start!
What ever works is good
Grear video but, the driver' on the wrong side of the vehicle
This guy sounds like he's backed up into other things if you know what I mean.
Not really
🤣
