I don't think there's a one size fits all explanation for what's going on. Money is likely part of it, but every one of these guys could still easily make gobs of money off workshops alone. The notoriety that comes with being in such a big name band opens up a LOT of money makers outside of just the touring & albums/streaming. In fact, I'd venture to say that's where most of the money is to be had, side quests lol. I'm betting it's a combo of money & Tim doing Tim things.

Think its a contributing factor, but from what I've heard it's as much an artistic f u, my guess timmy decided to fiddle with the mix of new album or re arranged some songs, basically enough to change royalty allocations, and totally piss off the rest of the band. Pretty much a dick move in a band, go do a solo project (not like he has much choice now lol)
