Looking back on episode 2, how much your mom thought Val was a good guy and that he and Angel like each other, it's so painful. I can't imagine how much she's regretting it. At least now she can join us all in hating him, and hopefully, in shipping HuskerDust hard.

I really like how the tone of the episode changes. At the beginning everything is very dark and you feel just bad for Angel, but at the end of the episode there is a little light when he bonds with Husk. Both help each other through the the darkest times of hell. ❤
I can already tell that your mom is going to have regrets over complimenting Valentino in previous episodes.

1. Lucifer has to revoke it himself
2. If a deal is made like in a gamble for example, such as “if you win you get my soul, if you lose X’s contract is null and void”
3. The holder of the contract perishes, making it no longer valid

@@Okk681 I’m fourteen and this episode really hit hard I’ve never been abused in any sort of way not by my family, friends or my significant other but seeing angel’s pain in the poison video was so hard to watch and I agree it’s good to learn and to know that these things happen but I also understand that it’s not for children who aren’t supposed to watch it at a con a little girl who was 9 came up to the mic and asked Blake about how he felt making those noises at the beginning of the episode so parents watch what your younger kids watch please and if your at the right age to watch it then be mature about it

When a kid is too young to watch, it is clear based on how they behave, how self-aware they are, and how maturely they can process complex topics like this. They also should not be let into 18+ events and have interactions like the one with Blake so idk what was going on there

It was stated in the Hunicast/pre pilot days that Charlie is incredibly powerful but far too nice to unleash without a huge amount of provocation, and that as a half Seraph not even Alastor could take her down. (I believe that is still canon, but there's a lot in the wikis that are no longer accurate, as well as Pilot creators who had input at one time but left for other gigs [ie Faustisse and others], so don't quote me!)

My theory as to how Valentino owns Angel's soal is that Angel used to be homeless. Mainly because he mentioned in episode 6 that he used to end up in the gutter and also that Angel used to live in Valentino's studio before living in the Hotel which makes me feel like he gave Angel shelter in exchange for work or something.
13:27 I saw a fan comic (not canon) that theorizes after working for Valentino for a while Angel was attacked and saved by Valentino (who is hinted to have staged the event). After being "rescued" Angel signed his soul away so Val could "protect" him.

My theory on contract breaking is either by killing the soul owner, which would release everythhing they own, or through the soul owner break the deal of the contract (like breaking a swear on the river styx) in val's case, if he abuses angel outside of the studio, as their contract only included what happens in the studio, hence why val let angel go in the club because he knows if he breaks the contract, he literally breaks it

Regarding the Overlords owning other people souls... I don't think it's stated explicitly, but it could very well be about protection, like with pimps and mafia. When fresh souls come to hell they have no clue what's happening, and ending up in a turf war or being exploited by random people, of course you search for someone powerful that already knows how it works and that can protect you. Overlords control territories probably because it's the easiest way to get to new souls first and offer deals they can't really refuse.

My favorite episode of season 1. It’s so hard to watch but it’s such a realistic portrayal of how SA can effect a victim and how they often feel trapped. We really come to understand Angel Dust in this episode and this episode makes him more than just a pervert which honestly is what he seemed like in the first 3 episodes. Granted dealing with being a victim of SA doesn’t give anyone a right to sexually harass others just to make themselves feel better which tbh Angel was doing just that to Husk, but we get to see the fear and tragedy behind Angel Dust, or rather, we get to see him for who he truly is, Anthony.

This episode always gets me. Back in my 20s I definitely had a bit of a friendship with this dancer and it was really reminiscent of angel. Charlie stepping in the way she did was a lot like what I did not thinking. Haven’t seen her in a very long time but somewhere in my late 20s I caught wind she managed to get away from it all and was living somewhere on the east coast far away from it all.
In college rn and this is making me miss my mom 😭, its so sweet to see the two of you together

From what I can tell, deals for people's souls are made after they have died and gone to hell. I can't remember if you have seen the pilot, but Alastor tried to make a deal with Charlie when they first met. Overlords own souls in what I assume is a magically binding contract. Given Husk's backstory, I assume ownership can be transferred, as it looks like he lost his collection gambling. I couldn't tell you if there is a way to fully release a person from a contract. I would imagine it has something to do with the wording though.

This episode hits hard, but I love that both Angel and Husk are fleshed out more. I love Angel Dust, but I relate to Husk a bit more. Drinking to forget, looking beyond the fake face people put on, looking for someone who can understand how bad you are hurting. That's probably why I'm a AngelHusk-er. Even if they don't end up together, I hope they continue to support each other in their own special way.
