Comfortable cosy polar fleece beanie toque with a deep rolled up cuff is our most popular hat and it forms the basis of lots of our winter designs. The cuff can be relaxed to create a slouchy fit perfect for big hair or for style. This design is perfect for anyone who is outdoors in cool weather and looks great on men and women. Please note that I have made an error in the video ... I refer to the back seam, step one in sewing, as the long seam. In fact the two sides of the toque that are sewn together in that first step, are shorter than the length of the sides going around your head. I should have referred to this seam as the 17" inch seam and thank you to a viewer in the comments below for alerting me to the error and for pointing this out! Much appreciated and apologies to anyone else who sewed the top edges together rather than the back seams in this first step.
Top is designed to fit the contours of your head. Best of all, we give you the pattern for the top for free to download onto your own computer. No need to spend any time trying to decipher my measurements! The hat beanie body is an easy rectangle to cut with the width going around your head cut with the stretch of the fleece fabric. Fleece is not created equally so cut a bit larger than you might otherwise as you can always trim extra away.
