  • I found not one but two of these gorgeous Polly Pocket-like Cinderella Castles around the same time. One was terribly yellowed and grungy but had all the pieces. The other looked great but was missing a few things. So I Frankenstein-ed them into one beautiful sparkly Cinderella Castle.
Apparently I deleted footage I'm so sorry guys. So here is a list of things I used to pull this off:
    - Toothpicks
    - Paintbrushes
    - Toothbrush x2
    - Baking soda/salt and water paste
    - Rubbing alcohol
    - Mini screwdrivers
    - Baby wipe
    - Paper towels
    - Lots of time and bravery
Real Polly Pockets to come soon.
Also for anyone who is interested in collecting the real Polly Pockets or needs help fixing up old ones, check out
onlypollypocket.com (I think I said it wrong in the video).
Super great site to help you with all your Polly Pocket needs.

When I was a kid my sister had one of these. She would keep it on her dresser and it would light up. I’m totally sharing this with her. Love you

It makes for a pretty night light! I wish you could have the towers lit up but not have the chimes... As an option, that's make it look so pretty in the dark.
Oh my gosh that's awesome. Let me know what she thinks.

Oh my god I remember playing with this thing as a kid and I totally forgot about it but I clearly remember this castle, I didn’t even know what it was called or what it was from I think it was like a hand-me-down from my older sister or something. Either way this was a huge nostalgia trip for me.

This brought me SO much joy. My mother had one of these that sat on a shelf in my childhood home. She use to let me play with it from time to time. This took me back to childhood that I completely forgot about. Thank you so much for this.

Gorgeous restore! So amazing that you were able to save and "have" such a fantastic creation. it is a shame that Cinderella and one of the other figures turned out so.. scary while the others are quite wonderfully made. YOu did a fantastic job- :)

My daughter had one and we’ve just reclaimed it when she moved and didn’t want it any more.. We couldn’t even remember how it worked so looked thru UA-cam and found you! Wow, thanks so much. We even have the key and then found most of the little figures, minus one of the horses. All 4 batteries were still there but think have removed them and the corrosion. Very happy. Now to clean it thoroughly and I’ll be following your tutorial with many thanks! It’ll be put aside for grandchildren. 😀

This was one of my favorite toys as a child omg I remember getting it from a yard sale. I was obsessed with keys so I wore the key that it came with around my neck to school & everyone would ask what they key unlocked & I would say “it’s a secret” lmao wow what fun memories!

Nice restoration, Jen. Couple of things. You don't need to add salt to your paste, baking soda is a great cleaner all by itself. Add a couple of teaspoons to the water you clean your fridge with...it's amazing. Do keep a pencil eraser around when you have battery powered items to clean. Simply "erase" the flat pad the battery sits on. It removes light corrosion without damaging the electrical box, plus it gives a slight lubrication. Great things to have around, pencil erasers.
One last thing. I know you hate Play Doh, but it's a great cleaner. The grit you feel is from the baking soda and salt. Just moosh your play doh onto it and it will absorb into the clay. After all, play doh used to be wallpaper cleaner! Historical fact! It sill does great cleaning stickers without taking them off.

Retrobrite is a process, I don’t believe it’s the name of an actual product. It’s done with peroxide, most just use hair developer because it’s really cheap. As long as this is made of ABS plastic, it should work.
