Гриб саркосцифа має ряд лікарських властивостей, тому відомий віддавна як їстівний гриб. Хоча відноситься, до умовно їстівних. Тому хто має проблеми з шлунком - будьте обачні. Я зїв і нічого. Гриб не має якихось виражених смакових властивостей, але все-таки, це перший весняний їстівний гриб!
