England recorded the highest ODI total in cricketing history, as they posted an outrageous 481-6 from their 50 overs. They had in fact set the previous record of 444-3 against Pakistan two years ago, passing that total by some distance. Bairstow and Hales struck 139 and 147 respectively, both taking only 92 balls to do so. Morgan then arrived to hit 50 off 22 balls, the fastest ever by an England player. Australia were unable to climb the steep mountain before them, falling to 239 all out and a 242-run defeat.

Can you believe that Shaun Marsh was considered to be a veteran last game! He has only played just over 50 ODI's and has been lacking form for a very long time. Without the big three: Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, it is going to be very unlikely for us to win against any side that has so much form and confidence going into a game. This English side that we just played against, they have taken all of their confidence from the previous two games and have now been treating us like shit. My point is that we can still win games without Smith or Warner, but we cannot win when our captain hasn't played cricket for Australia in 6 years (Tim Paine), or our bowling attack is a bunch of kids who have been pulled out of the Big Bash League and the Sheffield Shield. Our time is coming soon...

I don't think you'll see that line-up all that often because that would mean Stokes coming in for a bowler - either Willey, Wood or Plunkett. The more likely scenario is Stokes replacing one of the top three - hard to pick right now, but Hales is the most likely despite this innings - and then Woakes replacing Willey or Wood when he's fit again. I doubt that England would want to rely on Root as a sixth bowler most of the time.
