In Germany, we have something similar to the chocolate with the cats on the box. We're calling those "Cats Tongue", because of their shape. I think its the same stuff in the czech version.
You guys are super cute and so so nice!! It's a pleasure to watch and listen to you! Great job! Cant wait to see more of your videos in the future :)) Big love from Czech republic!
Hehe, dělám u filmu a jednou jsme točili něco s jednim japonským režisérem. :D
No jo, rohlík půjde v Japonsku sehnat špatně. Ale loni otevřeli v Tokiu krámek s názvem "Český", který prodává trdelníky, tak třeba jednou budou mít i rohlíky :-D
Oh my god my heart skipped a beat when I saw you guys doing Czech Rep! "The first one is... "I can't read it"... love it .D I'm glad you enjoyed so many of these!
wow, when Satoshi-san was reading the flavour for Brumík (the bear snack) it sounded almost perfectly Czech. ;) And you were really quick at recognizing it was an apricot. Most people tasting Czech sweets usually cannot guess it. Apricot jam is the most common one here, we usually make homemade one often too. :) The last chocolatte is a collaboration of JOJO, who make really good jelly sweets (even gummy bears) and the Orion chocolate. :)
9:06 Kočíčí Jazýčky - In english it means cat tongue, but with diminutive. 12:30 You have to taste them when they are fresh made, what you guys have is just 1% of true taste. They are incredible when they are still warm. But funny thing, what you guys choose as your favourite, is considered as the big junk in Czech Republic.
Hi guys! It's not paper, here in italy we call it "ostia" it's a sort of wafer made with water and flour (half wheat and half almond), the same that it used on the church :D in italy we use it to cover sticky sweets like that, so you don't dirty your hands ;)
Here, in Czech Republic, we call it "eating paper" :D In our candy stores are also sold big pieces of it. It has a printing of foreign banknotes and it's really popular by czech children.
Actually it's "edible paper". And it is also used for holy communion like in other countries, however we call it "hostie" (from lat. hostia - sacrifice)
I am also one of the Czech guys surprised by how you have pronounced most of names with pretty much accurate accent. But what surprises me even more is that you guys have actually liked some of the candies - the Tesco bar for instance, those some of us consider to be absolute shit, poor quality. What I consider to be delicate is Lazenske Oplatky which you did try to - but if you ever get your hands on Czech candies again, then i recommend Lazenske Trojhranky ( same brand, pretty much same candy... BUT...) ... and the BUT continues like this: you were surprised by the size of Kávenky - these will surprise you even more as they are filled (if not OVER-filled) with cream, they are huge and TASSSTYYY ;) I bet that you would also love Mila, Princezky, ... anything made by Sedita, Orion, Bohemia... (everything in this comment is purely my own opinion) So yeah, great video, suprising that you have even liked Czech candies (also you have said that they are not even that much sweet, weird because some are waaayyy tooo much sweer :D).
The paper on the Fit Fruit, in germany we actually call it Esspapier (Eating Paper or Edible Paper). I asssume the chocolate after it has cats on the package because of what they are called, in germany we call them Katzenzungen (Cat Tongues).
Yes, you are right. I thought for a long time that Katzenzungen (Kočičí jazýčky) is a Czech speciality but turns out that it probably came to us from Austria. Or maybe Germany? Who knows, it is a small world after all :-D
Out of all of your food haul videos, this one was by far, my favorite!! You both had me cracking up the whole time! Shinichi-san, your comments are hilarious! Satoshi-san, your replies are classic! Please keep the videos coming! You are both--by far--my favorite UA-camrs!! ❤️
I really enjoy watching you two trying all the treats. On here you both look very tired and not feeling very well when you made this. Take care of yourselves and each other! Best Regards, Rose
Very enjoyable video to watch. You two are so polite compared to some other "taste it" videos. I am glad you found most of the czech snacks good :-) It is quite interesting to watch people from far away countries taste things I knew since I was a child and take more or less for normal and granted. Now I wish to find some japanese snacks around here to try out!
Shinichi: did you fart? it smells like fart in here. Satoshi: no maybe construction outside Shinichi: the construction workers are farting? OMG I'm laughing so hard that my stomach hurts lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very nice video, thank you! Oh, childhood memories! But most of those sweets you've tried are inventions of the past 15 to 20 years maybe. I just recognized the kitty tongues, the round wafers (you can't get more classical than that), kofila and the paté. It's not pork, but poultry. Orion is the biggest Czech chocolate factory. 11. Brumík = little bear, náplň means filling. It was chocolate and apricot as you guessed. 12. oplatky Kolonáda: the old style was light in colour, nowadays they even have chocolaty ones and with all sorts of creamy fillings. 13. poultry paté 14. Geisha chocolate (made in Finland) and I personally never had it but if I could guess, I'd say Rum flavoured (many Czech things have this flavour) but I'm not sure. Correct me anyone, if you know. 15 Kofila wafer, pretty standard and 16.Jojo. Some kind of new chocolate. I miss the classic things in this list, like Miňonky (chocolate coated wafers), Fidorka (round wafer, also chocolate coated, Hořické trubičky (round cigar shaped wafers with filling), štramberské uši (ears from Štramberk, that might be too local though), studentská pečeť (chocolate with raisins and jelly bits), lentilky (like smarties), Pedro chewing gum and a couple more.....old style sweets 😉
Thanks for the great video! I just recently started watching and all of your videos are so well put together and fun! You guys have definitely inspired me to get in the kitchen and start cooking more!
You guys are so funny :D !! There are so much more czech products you could try but I'm glad you liked those you tried. I'm Czech saying hello from England!! Have a nice day guys :)
"Geisha? So it's geisha-flavoured chocolate." I'M DEAD. You guys rate everything so posivitely (and pronounce everything so cutely) that I'm kind of proud to be Czech. ^-^
I really enjoyed your reactions and your pronunciation of the Czech names haha. And you liked all of these it's amazing. Not many foreign people like Czech&Slovak snacks and I was also suprised you liked the banana in chocolate. :)
So fun to watch your tastings videos. 😄 Thanks guys! I was worried about all that sugar, even though I have a sweet tooth myself. Hope you both recovered from the sugar overload okay.
The chocolate with the cat on it is called langues de chat or cat's tongue in French. Biscuits and chocolate are made into that shape in Europe. I think I would like the garlic chips. Have a great weekend!
the cat chocolate is or was popular in germany, too. they are called "katzenzungen" or cat-tongues, because they are shaped like cat tongues. My grandma used to always buy these for me, and even now i still sometimes get a package of delicious Katzenzungen. :)
The papery stuff on the fruit bar is a named oblate in German or is also called "Esspapier" which literally translates to eat(able) paper. It's just starch, a little bit of sugar and water baked in some kind of waffle maker.
Omg, had such a great time watching your video :D Hello from the Czech Republic! I'm really glad you guys liked it so much ^^ also that Alaska-whatever thing is definitely not a czech snack xD
Největší mazec pro Japonce musí být asi představa čokolády s příchutí Geishi :-DDDDDDDDDDDD Guys, I appreciate you liked our sweets, even you haven't received more significant ones. And honestly - I laughed so hard with perception of your feelings to taste chocolate with Geisha flavour :-D
You two crack me up! You know they say the one who smelled it dealt it. ;) (Also, the "cat treats" are in the same shape as langue du chat - cat's tongue - those buttery light cookies that are quite popular in Japan.)
@ 6:50 . .Surprisingly, that TV black cartoon mole is very well known here in the Middle East too! It is very old cartoon. :^) I believe in the Czech republic it is heavily used in stationery items, pencils and pens, as well as erasers, sharpeners, rulers and colouring sets. :^) Akin to Hello Kitty and Doraemon! :-) These Czech stationary goods make their way in our book stores and such here in Arabia.
Good job guys, eating all that stuff :-) And thank you for appreciation of our sweets and salt food. Some very Czech yummies are missing, so maybe next time :-D (if you want I can send :-))
That "paper" you referred to is called rice paper, it's made of rice as the name suggests, it's not used that much these days but historically it was in the west to keep sticky things from sticking to each other and because it's very neutral in taste and dissolves it doesn't really interfere with the flavor/texture of the food itself.
The Chocolate with the Cat is called Cat/Kitten-Tongue because of the Shape. We have the same here in Germany aswell. Also the Czech Spa Wafers are verry popular here aswell, although there are some german brands that make similar aswell - the czech original is probably the best you can get. Oh and the Mole Cartoon Charakter (Krtek) created by Czech animator Zdeněk Miler was/is popular in over 80 countrys! If you haven't seen it yet you should definetly watch it :)
Hey guys, I just came home after a few Pilsner Urquell beers and made some potato cakes with sour cabbage, recommend to everyone :D So I'm stuffing my Czech face and watching you guys, having fun :D Great video guys!
We have the bear cakes in the uk they are called Barney bears and my children love them as an after school treat. The "paper" you were eating is called sugar paper and from my childhood we ate it in in flying saucer shape with fizzy sherbet inside such a cool texture
I love the little mole ❤❤❤ It often appears in a famous German show for children called "Die Sendung mit der Maus" ("The show with the Mouse") and it's popular here for about 46 years. Oh and the frog is a friend of the mole.
Lol were you guys buzzing for days after all that sugar and chocolate? I didn't know Tesco is over in Czech Republic too, they are all over the place here :) Those teddy shaped sponges were sooo cute! Loved this as always my friends, hope you are both keeping well! So happy to see your channel growing so well!!👍🏻👍🏻
